Chapter 7

Working abroad for so many years, I missed my mom the most apart from Claire.
When I was little, my mom watched so many soap operas that she donated ten million dollars to the nearest police station.
The once-small police station grew into something closer to a state police headquarters.
At that time, if a vehicle were to cross over slightly the pedestrian line of my elementary school, the person would be given a warning. The vehicle's speed limit cannot exceed 20 mph. Honking the horn was also not allowed. If any of these rules were broken, you wouldn't live to see the sunlight the next day according to my mom.
This situation only eased slightly after I entered junior high school.
Until this day, I still found my mom too much.
When I was on a field mission in Afreco, I was almost bitten by a hyena. My mother directly contacted the local military, and was preparing to spend twenty million dollars to eradicate the hyenas. The species almost went extinct.
"Hehe, what brings you here, my wife? Leave all these matters to your employees."
"Who are you kidding?" Just a word from my mom, and my dad stayed silent. This domineering man gradually softened, just like how a mouse behaved when it spotted a cat.
"Um…"
"Get lost!" Mom said impatiently. My dad held back what he wanted to say, and stepped aside.
That only made things worse. Once my dad moved aside, she could see me lying on the ground.
"You brat, you made me very angry once again!"
My mom raised her hand, wanting to hit me. But seeing that I was covered in wounds, she slapped my dad on his back instead.
"Are you blind?! Can't you see your son lying on the ground?!
"Are all your bodyguards blind as well?! Jake had been lying on the ground for so long and not a single one of you has helped him up?!"
If my dad was seen as cold, then my mom was fiery-tempered.
Seeing the bodyguards carefully helped me up, I let out a bitter laugh.
"Mom, I should have listened to you."
My mom looked at me, and started tearing up.
"It's my fault. I didn't do a good job of watching over you. You just take a rest. Leave it to me to handle things."
My mom soothingly patted my hair, but the spot where I was hit made me wince.
"Move along. Go on!"
My mom quickly pulled her hand back, urging the bodyguards to take me away.
My mom shifted her gaze to Claire and her family. My brother-in-law was still kneeling on the ground.
"I have seen the footage. Let's not waste time. Let's go one by one." As she spoke, she slowly stepped on Sky's hand with her high heel. The sharp pain that followed made him tremble.
"Which hand?"
Sky immediately raised his other hand when he heard her question.
My mom glanced over and said casually, "You better explain yourself within five minutes." She pulled out her high heel, stepped on the bloody footprints, and sat on the side.
Sky looked at his hand.
With a piercing scream, Claire and the rest turned even paler than before.
My mom frowned as she looked at the things on the ground.
"Bandage him up. We are not terrorists. They are willingly doing this."
Mom began calling out names one by one. The first was Claire.
