Suddenly,a spectacular display of fireworks burst across the sky, lighting up half of the night sky.
Countless couples stopped to look up,and in the dazzling light, they hugged and kissed passionately.
‌Iris can’t help but stopped. She looked up at ‌Finn beside her,her eyes filled with expectation.

‌Finn was caught off guard by her gaze and froze.
I waited beside him, hoping he would push ‌Iris away.
However, under ‌Iris's affectionate gaze,‌Finn slowly lowered his head.
Just then,a sudden ringing of a mobile phone broke the comance in the air.
Seeing this,‌Iris smiled subtly. While ‌Finn was answering the phone, she stood on tiptoe and quickly kissed him on the lips.
‌Finn's face turned bright red.He answered the phone in a flustered manner."Hello?"

On the other end of the line,a colleague's anxious voice came through."‌Finn, dude!Something's happened on Mount Everest! The weather has suddenly changed, and the snow has blocked the mountain. The rescue team can't get close enough.Aren't you just nearby? Can you go and check it out?"
I stared intently at ‌Finn.Would he think that the person in trouble was me?
‌Finn's body visibly stiffened, and a trace of panic flashed in his eyes.
But ‌Iris kept gently pecking at his lips,so he reluctantly said,"I can't get away right now...I'm spending our anniversary with...my girl.I really can't make it..."

There was a moment of silence on the other end,and then the colleague said helplessly,"I see...Well,all right.I'm not too far away anyways,so I'll go and take a look first.I won't interrupt your time with your girlfriend."
Girlfriend?I couldn't help but sneer. The new girlfriend, whom he ran into just today?
‌Finn hung up the phone and absent-mindedly shoved the phone back into his pocket.
"‌Iris,maybe I should still go and check.What if..."‌Finn hesitated.
‌Iris shook his arm."‌Finn, don't worry so much.By the way, don’y you want to know what wish I made just now?"
"‌Finn,I didn't leave without saying goodbye on purpose back then.My parents forced me to go study in Australia. If things had been different,we might have been together a long time ago..."‌Iris's voice gradually faded, and she sounded more and more pitiful.
‌Finn hesitated, then raised his hand and finally stroked her hair.
"But fate brought us back together. So I wished that this time,I wouldn't miss you again..."She threw herself into his arms tears welling up in her eyes again.
Watching them embrace,my heart was filled with despair.
Yes,I should have known that in Iris’s presence,I was always just a dispensable substitute.
The two of them walked slowly back along the old street. The streetlights cast down from above them, stretching and shortening their shadows as they walked past.
‌Iris dried her tears and tentatively asked,"Oh,by the way,I booked a unique AirBnB nearby.Do you want to go and take a look?"
Any adult knew what this invitation implied, but ‌Finn still nodded snlowly.
Watching them step up the stairs of the AirBnB,my heart seemed to have gone numb.I floated out of the window, not wanting to see anymore.
But just as they lay down on the bed,‌Finn's phone rang again.
He impatiently hung up,but the phone kept ringing, over and over again.
Finally,he couldn't take it anymore and answered, his voice full of anger."I told you,I'm spending our anniversary with my girl!Do you have to be such a spoilsport and keep bothering us?"
On the other end of the phone, the voice trembled."But...But the person on the mountain...looks...looks like her..."
