I became a soul,floating in the air,watching as ‌Finn led ‌Iris into a pet hospital.
"Doctor,how is he?"‌Iris asked anxiously.
The doctor examined the dog and smiled."Don't worry. He's just overweight, and he overexerted himself a bit. He's just exhausted, and he’ll be fine after a good rest."

"Great!"‌Iris burst into tears of joy and hugged ‌Finn."‌Finn,I knew Charlie would be okay!"
‌Finn gently patted ‌Iris's back,soothing her softly."It's okay.It's all right now."
Watching them presses tightly against each other,my heart ached as if it were being torn to pieces.
"By the way,‌Finn,do you remember what we said before? If we ever had a son,we'd name him Charlie,"‌Iris suddenly looked up at ‌Finn, uttering each word slowly and clearly.
‌Finn's body visibly stiffened, and a trace of panic flashed in his eyes."Of-of course I remember."
I recalled when our daughter was just born.‌Finn suddenly suggested,"How about we name her Charlie?"

I smiled and gently poked my daughter's sleeping face."Charlie? Are you sure? She's so well-behaved and quiet. She doesn't seem like a naughty Charlie."
The smile on ‌Finn's face seemed to fade a bit.It took him a long time to reply,"Well, you're right.I just think it's a nice name."
So that's where the name Charlie came from...
I floated behind them, listening to their conversation, and waves of bitterness welled up in my heart.

Suddenly,‌Iris took ‌Finn's hand and said in a coquettish voice,"‌Finn, since Charlie needs to rest here for a while, why don't we go explore the old down?I heard that wishes made with the lanterns there will always come true.I want to do it too."
‌Finn let ‌Iris lead him out of the pet hospital.
"Wow,it's sugar-coated haws!"‌Iris pulled ‌Finn, excited."Do you remember our first date? You said I looked like a little mouse when I was eating sugar-coated haws."
"You're still into this at your age?"‌Finn said, but he still went up and bought one for her.
‌Iris took a happy bite and then held the snack to his mouth.
‌Finn was taken aback for a moment.
"Come on,have a taste.I haven't bitten this part yet,"she said.
Looking at ‌Iris's smiling face,‌Finn somehow took a bite."Mmm,it's sweet for sure,"he murmured.
"‌Finn, there are people with lanterns over there.Let's go write our wishes too!"‌Iris pointed at the crowded area not far away and pulled him in that direction.
In the dense crowd,‌Finn instinctively took ‌Iris's hand.
Watching their clasped hands,I felt a sharp pain in my chest,as if I couldn't breathe.
So even souls could feel pain.
It turned out that the stuffiness in my chest before wasn't a heart attack but real heartbreak...
"‌Finn,do you think I'll ever find a good man like you?"‌Iris asked casually as she wrote her wish on the lantern.
"You're so excellent. There will surely be many outstanding men pursuing you,"‌Finn replied, his voice a bit unnatural.
"But I only want someone like you..."‌Iris's voice grew softer and softer, until it was almost a whisper.
‌Finn was silent for a moment and didn't say anything.
"By the way,‌Finn, what about Eva?Aren't you going to check on her?"‌Iris suddenly asked.
"She...She must have already gone down the mountain and gone home,"‌Finn said, sounding unsure.
"Yeah,it's been so long. She couldn't still be foolishly waiting on the mountain, right?"‌Iris chuckled.
They probably couldn't imagine that,no matter how much I didn't want to,I was now forever stuck on that mountain...
