Chapter 198

Just like that, I was able to move again.
I gasped, sitting up as soon as I felt all my limbs functioning again. I looked at my hands as I repeated the words that she said around my head.
{"Be careful when you see a lunar eclipse, for the beast shall awaken again."}
Is.. it finally happening?
I huffed in panic.
"Hey." A voice beside me emerges, I cautiously looked at Zyrus who was looking at me with a worried expression, he snuggles closer to me and wraps his arms around my waist. "What's wrong? bad dream?"
I chuckled bitterly.
Even after living happily with Zyrus in this realm for almost a year, i can't believe this time finally came. The time when she would finally reach out to us just like how i wanted her to in the first place.
But.. didn't I want this? so why am I hesitating?
"Zyrus, we need to leave," I said, barely managing to spout out those horrible words.
I felt his arm stiffen. Once he sat up at my level, he says with a displeased face. "It's just a bad dream, stop talking nonsense."
"I knew you'll say that."
Slowly placing my palms on his shoulder, my voice started to tremble. "I think... I think I saw the Moon Goddess, she spoke to me! I know how to go back!"
He sighs in frustration, he lowers my hand and stared at me with dead serious eyes. "Stop, let's discuss this in the morning. for now, sleep more-"
"No! every second we waste will be bad for us! she said that if we don't go back now all of them will die!"
"Christal, calm down."
I covered my mouth in horror, my hand shaking in fear. "We lived here for almost a year, it's enough Zyrus, we have to go back."
The words that she mouthed off earlier started to ring inside my consciousness as if she was scolding me for happily living with Zyrus in here without a care in a world.
I do admit that I've almost forgotten about our problems- even going as far as to reject my past now. But just how miserable our fate is, being too happy has its own consequences too.
A tear falls on my cheek. Knowing my state, Zyrus pulls me into his embrace and comforts me silently, sliding down his hand repeatedly on the back of my head to soothe me.
"What else did she say?" He asks.
{"Be careful when you see a lunar eclipse, for the beast shall awaken again."}
"Nothing," I replied, burying my face on his chest even deeper, I tightly secured my arms around his neck.
"I know you're lying, but I'm not gonna ask anymore if you don't want to talk about it."
I sobbed.
Why?
Why does time fly so fast? In the blink of an eye, the time has finally come to go back to reality.
I wanted to stay but...
Even if I did stay here with him, and the curse ends up happening, what happens to Zyrus then? He'll be alone forever stuck in this place since the only way to leave was to touch the stone together. Yet I doubt that method. For I have seen that Gina and Alpha King Yasha were able to escape this place by using a portal by Gina's will.
So why are we requiring a stone now?
Is it because I can't use my powers or even contact Gina?
I slowly pulled away from him and stared at him. I placed my right hand on his cheek and he leans on it, his eyes never leaving mine. "Don't be scared, I'm here for you." He whispers.
That's what I'm most scared about.
I smiled back, "Thank you for always being with me, there really is nothing more I could hope for in this life."
He frowns. "Why are you talking like that?"
"Like what?"
"Like you're gonna leave me." His voice cracks, he grabs my wrist and pulled me into another hug. "Didn't we promise not to hide things with each other anymore? why are you being like this?"
I started to cry.
It was not because I was too scared of the curse happening but because of this pitiful man in front of me whom I've known to have the longest patience with me in our entire lives. Despite our fights, he remained loyal and waited for me like an idiot.
Who else will love me like this?
"I-I'm sorry!" I screamed at the top of my lungs, gagging a bit due to my aggressive cries that continued about for minutes. I was holding onto him like it was my last- I would be lying if I said I wasn't.
In the end, I still can't be with you.
That is when I started to push him away again. Once I was out of his grip, I headed towards the shelf where we last saw the pulsating stone. I grabbed it in my hands and faced him, his expression telling me that he was questioning why I took the stone.
"THIS is the way back, we just have to grab this together and we'll be back in no time." I sobbed, my hesitance reaching a wall. My face slowly turned stern in determination.
I know he gets what I was trying to say, but as soon as he realized it. He lowers his head. "Then promise me.. you won't leave me."
"I don't want to make promises."
"Why?!" He raised his head, his eyes darkening in anger. "I know you don't usually keep your promises to me, but at least once! can't you just do it once!"
I bit my lower lip before I strode towards him. I sat down beside him and placed the stone between us, but doing so just made him move inches away from me.
"Get that thing away from me." He growls.
"We have to go back, we had our time here together and it was perfect!" I pleaded, slowly placing my palm on top of his hand. "Isn't that enough?"
"You know that isn't enough."
"I know! but we can't just fuck happily here while those people die because of us!"
He clenched his jaw in anger. "If I had to choose, it'll always be you."
I yanked my hand away, my voice rising in frustration, I hastily stood up beside the bed. "What about me?! I don't choose you! I choose the only family I have left in the real world! I can't let them die like that!"
Lies.
There were so many lies that I had to say just to convince him to go back. I held unto the hope that he'll abide by my wishes, but there's also a part of me that wishes that he don't.
I glared at him.
Please.. just this once!
But just like he always see through me, he says. "Lies, all lies." He chuckles bitterly. "Is that the best you got?"
"Zyrus!" I yelled in irritation, balling my fists in anger
"I know!"
"I know." He repeats, panting a bit, his eyes averted my gaze. "I'll do everything you want me to do."
He grabs the stone in front of him and stared at me with serious eyes. "If my mate wants to go back so bad, so be it."
I'm sorry.
I wanted to say those words again, but I knew I'll just angry him even more so I just shut my mouth and headed sat by his side once again. I gulped, before I could touch the stone, my eyes widened when I saw him tearing up, his hurtful expression begging me not to touch the stone.
{"Be careful when you see a lunar eclipse, for the beast shall awaken again."}
"There really is no other way," I mumbled before I touched it. A light blindingly shines around it.
I took one last look at my mate who was not crying anymore but only frowning due to disappointment.
My heart tightened at the sight, quickly turning away in response. Before we knew it, we both disappeared in the realm where we had spent our last days happily together.
*AUTHOR's POV*
If there is one thing to describe what was happening in the real world, it would be close to the Apocolypse.
Charles went into an explosive rampage that affected many areas of the world, having the authority to control the heavens, it only took him a day to make the world scream in pain. Every species fled in many corners just to avoid his suspecting eyes, they couldn't understand why the Vampire lord was flipping the whole world upside down as if he was trying to find something.
Well, they aren't wrong.
He blindly went on a crazy search for Christal in every part of the lands, but even after two days of search he was still left with no clues or even feel anything from her.
As if she disappeared in his world.
Charles stood angrily in front of the RedBloodMoon Pack, glaring at it with eyes filled with venom as he contemplated the reason why he couldn't find her.
Just where did that portal lead them to? Is what he was thinking repeatedly all day. As he was about to pour all his fury on the barrier, an unexpected portal appears in front of him.
