Chapter 197

As soon as we finished talking. He quickly sent me back as promised. I got out of the portal and stumbled upon the tunnel where I was in a while ago. I looked back and saw him plaster a smile on his face.
"This is it my lab rat, this is where we part ways." He says.
My eyes opened slightly. "What is this now?"
"Don't worry, once the curse is lifted, I shall release my spell on your body as soon as possible." He sighs. "Just as I've said, this is the last time I'll see you so I want to tell you I never threw you away."
"What's the point of saying these things now?" I replied.
But just like he ignored every word I said before, he does it this time again. "Everything I've done until now is for you, I don't expect anything in return. So don't think I resent you, I was only doing it for your own good."
"Right," I said, a tone of disbelief.
Even though he knew I won't believe whatever he says, he was still able to plaster a smile despite my expression.
A painful one at that.
"I don't blame you for your betrayal anymore, after seeing you now I can immediately tell how much alive you're feeling compared to those days. With that, I'm more than satisfied." He says, picking up my right hand, and he kissed it gently.
"Heed my words, don't you ever fall in love with someone, that is where true suffering will occur." He whispers but before I could ask him about it, he fades into the darkness.
I glanced at my hand where he kissed me, using my dress, I aggressively wiped it off, the area turning red from the continuous scrub.
"Did you have fun?" A voice from the shadow says.
I almost jumped out in shock, but because the voice was familiar, it made me relieved to have the strength to turn towards him. It was Beta Jaxon, he was standing by the tunnel while grumpily looking at me.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
He didn't even reply but only signaled me to come into the tunnel with him already. At that time, I didn't mind it much since the weather was so bad that I shouldn't be outside in the first place. I quickly ran towards the tunnel and went inside with him.
He then closes the seal tightly after we both got in, turning towards me, he gave me a face full of disbelief. "I can't believe you met with that leech when I told you not to. Do you not know how hectic it is in RedBloodMoon right now?"
"I'm sorry, but I really needed the information."
"Well? did you get it?" he raises an eyebrow.
I frowned. get it? it's far from that. The information was basically useless. In the end, everything he said just scared me of the moments that were about to come.
To think that Killing Christal is the only way to stop all of this madness is just plain ridiculous.
I sighed. "It's all useless."
We didn't debate about it any further, and i was thankful that he understood my mood. We disclosed the topic and went straight back to the packhouse. The first thing that came into my mind was to summon all of the alphas present, finally taking our plans into motion.
That is to prevent civil war from happening.
"Did you summon all of them as I told you to?" I asked Beta Jaxon as we walked towards the designated room.
"Of course, I'm a competent beta you know."
"Good."
After we arrived at the door, Beta Jaxon opened it and all of the Alphas turned their attentions towards us, some of them scrunching their nose in disgust at my presence.
I strode towards the end of the long table and placed my palm on the desk, Beta Jaxon safely guarding behind me.
"Listen up, the reason why I've gathered all the alphas today to conduct the order that we were given before the Alpha King's disappearance, everyone must comply, if you don't. You'll be quickly be branded as a traitor."
As expected they didn't like how I talked.
Alpha Iver growls. "Ridiculous, on what grounds can you conduct this suspicious order? How dare a witch as you meddle in a werewolf's business?"
"Alpha Iver, pardon me for my rudeness but what are you so worried about? it is only a test for your loyalty, if you are indeed loyal, then you do not need to be worried about it." I smirked.
I looked at my palms and summoned a useless needle that is needed in my plans. I am about to demonstrate a fake a divine antique that is able to discern lies from the truth. Doing so, I could root out all those traitors that would dare cause trouble for us in these harsh times.
I chuckled, there was no such order from the Alpha King so if my plan fails, my head will be rolling once the Alpha King returns.
With that in mind, i decided to continue the plan.
"Do you see this?" I raised the needle, enough for any one of them to see. "This is a truth artifact, once pierced to your skin, you won't say anything but the truth."
They all gasped, and i could immediately tell who was the suspicious ones among them. My vision narrowed towards Alpha Iver and Alpha Roberto, who were looking at each other suspiciously.
I smirked, locked on.
Dragging my feet towards his spot, he nervously looks at me once I placed my hand on his shoulder, "Well then Alpha Iver, you shall come first."
"Let go of me!" He growls, standing up quickly. "Do not touch me with such dirty energy."
Ha, what an idiot, he's making himself more suspicious by saying that. Why? because my meridians were locked, there's no way to tell I'm even a dark witch in the first place.
But because he was panicking, he can't even tell it.
"Alpha Iver, are you refusing the Alpha King's order?" I raised an eyebrow.
"W-What are you on about?" He takes a step back. "No matter how much I see it, you're suspicious! the Alpha King wouldn't carelessly conduct tests like these without our permission!"
"Then do I take that as you disobey him?" I smiled, irking him to explode.
And just as expected, he became more scared, his sweat rolling down his face, he glances towards Alpha Roberto of Stone pack before looking back at me.
"What's that? you want Alpha Roberto to come next?" I smiled evilly.
That was the moment that changed the atmosphere. As soon as I said those words, Alpha Roberto and Alpha Iver tried to flee away from the room but was stopped by several alphas as if they already expected them to do that.
They both pinned them down on the ground.
"Let go of me! This is Ridiculous!" Alpha Roberto exclaims, before glaring at Alpha Iver who was shaking excessively in fear.
I bend down and smiled at him, "Seeing how you tried to flee, I don't think I have to conduct these tests any further, right Alphas?"
I knew that the other alphas didn't like me, but we did agree on the same idea of throwing them out of the pack- of course with their whole pack as well. Since the barrier doesn't allow anyone to come in, it would be impossible for them to go in again.
I smirked, seeing them all head outside the barrier with a grim face. They all looked worried at how they will survive in such a harsh environment outside, in fear they all stopped.
Even Alpha Roberto and Alpha Iver were hesitant to go outside because of the scene in front of them.
"What's this? did you want a war with us? is that why you're stopping?" I glared at the both of them.
They shook their heads, knowing what would happen if they uselessly fight us since their number was feeble compared to ours- trying to retaliate would just result in their deaths.
I smirked.
Well, it's not like they won't die if they do go out.
The two packs finally went out the barrier, and we observed each one of them go out with a grim face. They were indeed pitiful, but if you think about the majority of those who are more likely to suffer if we let them stay.
Of course, it'll be us if they get even one step ahead of us.
In the end, it's the strong ones who will always win!
*CHRISTAL's POV*
My eyes opened slightly.
When I saw a woman's soul hovering above me, I gulped.
She slowly placed her palm on the sides of my face. {"The time is near, touch the stone together and leave. if you don't, all of them will die."}
Who the hell is this woman?
I couldn't move, nor call for Zyrus who was still sleeping soundly beside me. All I could do was watch her smile, her white eyelashes mocking me as I tried struggling.
{"Be careful when you see a lunar eclipse, for the beast shall awaken again."}
That is when I felt goosebumps forming all over my skin, my eyes widening as she finished her sentence. I couldn't help but feel wary because of her words. For I was sure that the beast she was pertaining to was no other than the person beside me.
I clenched my teeth in anger.
