  CHRISTAL's POV

After going back, I could hardly recognize the world we once lived in. My eyes widening in horror, I looked around us and noticed the state the world was at.

The sun was up yet the rain was viciously pouring down, the orange-like skies with a pint of red scattered around above like fog. The screams of people reaching us from afar, at that time I could only step back in horror when I saw the perpetrator in front of us.

We both stared at each other with shock in our eyes.

"Charles," I mumbled. "D-Did you do this?"

"Christal!" Charles tries coming over but was stopped when he saw Zyrus wrapping his arm around my waist. "You!-"

Zyrus growls angrily. "Get the fuck away from us."

"Get your hands off her!" Charles hissed threateningly, his veins showing in anger. It didn't take long for him to lunge towards us. But before he could arrive at our spot, Zyrus pushes me back away from his side and dodged Charles attack swiftly.

  I groaned in pain.

Damn it, did he have to push this hard? I think I just broke my ankle.

I looked behind me and saw that I was standing at the edge of a cliff.

The ocean with its heavy currents looked frightening as the storm made it worst. Never in my life have I thought that the Red Blood Moon pack kingdom is actually near the sea. I slowly stood up and endured the pain from my ankles.

When I tried to find them, my senses led me towards a loud explosion on the hill beside the northern border of the pack. At the side, I immediately saw the two of them throw the other one into the rocks, the surroundings crumbling at the impact.

Before Charles could try grasping Zyrus's neck, Zyrus attacked first by shifting to his wolf and dragging both of them down at the bottom of the hill.

  Pain.

I gasped, I was starting to feel the pain that Charles was feeling again. I lost my balance and panted down on the ground. Thankfully it only took seconds before he healed our body, my breathing becoming calmer than before.

Their fight lasted for minutes, and each blow that Charles took was also transferred to me. I did my best to endure everything yet my vision was still starting to get blurry from the repeating pain that continued endlessly.

  I huffed in exhaustion.

I could feel it, Charles is getting weakened. The flow of my power was starting to run through my body again, I looked at my hair as I noticed it changing color.

  'Christal!' Gina screams.

"Oh my god, I'm not imagining this right?" I covered my mouth in confusion.

'I've been trying to talk to you all this time but you couldn't hear me. Now, do you hear me clearly?'

"Yes! I can hear you loud and clear!" I replied, relieved that I was not delusional after all. Her voice motivated me to sit up carefully, I took that time to use magic to heal some parts of my body.

I flinched slightly when I felt another strike on my abdomen, blood comes out from my mouth. "Fuck Zyrus's attacks are getting stronger."

  I groaned in annoyance.

It was already irritating that I have to share my soul with Charles, all his pain was being shared with me. Yet if I think about the most frustrating part of this, it's actually due to the reason that Zyrus was hurting me indirectly.

If he knew I could feel everything Charles was feeling, he'll surely get killed instantly by that vampire lord idiot.

'We have to finish the plan Christal, it's almost a year. It's most likely that Zyrus will get possessed at this moment. Are you ready?' Gina says in a worried tone.

  I chuckled.

'What are you laughing at?' She pouts.

"It's funny. Do you remember? you were so against the idea of me and Zyrus separating, if the past vessels can see us now, they'll be cursing at you." I laughed, even though each breath I took was killing me right now.

  She giggles.

'It's been a millennium since Yasha and I got separated, even though i won't be able to fulfill our promise in the end, I think it's still worth it. I've learned a lot of things because of you.'

"What's there to learn about me?"

  I frowned.

No matter how much I think about it, my life has been filled with pits that I keep falling to, and in each fall someone would sacrifice themselves just to help me go back up. In the end, my whole life was filled with dead people when I look behind me, constantly telling me to live the way I wanted to.

But what if.. what if I don't want to live like this anymore?

I don't want people to sacrifice themselves for me anymore, especially not my mate.

In the blink of an eye, Zyrus injured wolf was thrown off in front of me. He growls viciously in the direction opposite of ours before Charles finally steps in from the shadows, his hand holding his upper right abdomen, his whole body state was a mess compared to Zyrus.

"Even after having an immortal body... I can't believe I'm still being overpowered." Charles scowled in disbelief.

My eyes landed on Zyrus's huge black wolf, his height was towering everything around us. It made me realize that maybe this is the reason why he seldom shifts in front of others- if he did, anyone would just fear it just like how I was feeling right now

Zyrus growls more, his canines dangerously showing to warn him.

"You think I'll hurt her?" Charles laughs. "Did you know that Christal and I share one soul now? Every blow I took earlier from you, she received all of it."

I unconsciously dodged Zyrus's concerned glance when he turned towards me, his wolf whimpering at the realization, he quickly transforms back to his human form.

  "Christal.. is that true?"

I gulped, should I say it? but what good would it bear me?

  Charles interrupts us.

"Of course it's true, look at my wounds, they are at the same place as hers. See? I wasn't the one hurting her, it was you!" Charles yells hysterically due to the storm going stronger.

Damn it. Looks like I can't hide these wounds.

I slowly glanced back at him, only to see him plaster a hurtful expression. His fists were shaking in anger yet his eyes were tearing up in sorrow, those two contradicting emotions are what was causing him to stand confused in his spot.

I tried to reassure him, cracking the best smile I could make. "I'm fine, this is nothing."

But that gesture only turned out to be the worst decision that I have ever made. As soon as I finished speaking, he gasps in pain before he kneeled unknowingly on the ground, he held his head in pain before screaming his lungs out.

Startled at the situation, I tried getting closer to him but he just stops me.

"GET AWAY FROM ME!" He growls, his eyes darkening. His nails started to sharpen even more, his canines enlarging and his eyes turning into a dangerous color of blazing yellow.

He howls, the clouds above him revealing a lunar eclipse.

I gasped in horror, my knees giving away as soon as I realized that the time has come. The moment that we've all been waiting for is finally here.

"The curse.. is finally happening?" I muttered in disbelief.

It didn't take long before he calmed down, but as soon as he raised himself to look at me, I could immediately tell that he wasn't the Zyrus I've always known.

'It's Yasha's power! the curse is controlling him!' Gina says, answering my questions.

"So it's like that," I smiled bitterly. "Don't worry Zyrus, I won't let you suffer too much."

It was finally the time to end all of this, but I would've never thought that I would feel scared this much, my sense of reason and emotion were fighting and I could care less about it.

  I stared back at him.

"Must.. kill... god." His eyes were enlarging as if he couldn't hear anything besides the words he kept repeating to himself.

Before I knew it, he tried to lunge at me. I was already in a protective stance so I was expecting him, but Charles grabs his neck in an instant, locking him up in a death grip.

Charles's demon wings sprouted from his back, and I could see the power draining from the ground into his body. Using that power, he used every bit of his mana to hold the Alpha King in place.

He yells at me, "What are you waiting for my Queen? we can finally kill this bastard, raise up the bow!"

My body trembled when I saw the bow appearing in my left hand. From Gina's memories, it was the bow that appeared whenever the host was in danger at the onset of the curse. I've held it several times before, so why can't I raise the bow?

"Christal! he will kill you if you don't kill him first!"

  Zyrus's growls angrily.

The power between him and Charles was clashing in the air. Due to the reason that Zyrus was a god's creation, Charles is unable to kill him using normal means.

That's why he's telling me to use Gandiva.

I bit my lower lip in anguish, slowly raising the bow. The arrows appear when I pulled the string back. Before doing the deed, I used my power forcefully to separate both of them.

A tear falls on my cheek.

"I'm sorry, please forgive me," I said before I released the arrow.
