"I have no time to talk about the past with you, the reason i'm approaching you for help is that we don't have that much time, if you don't want to help, let me just talk to the men you brought with yo-"
"Syrena!" He shouts, he grips my shoulders. "Why are you doing this!? you're walking into the path the prophecy said! if you didn't disobey me things wouldn't have progressed this far!"
I'm walking into the path of the prophecy?
{"That witch is an ingredient to a catastrophe, how could you let her reside here Ramuel?!" His mother hisses at my presence. "Did you already forget the prophecy about her involvement!"}
{"You.." The seer says with wide eyes, "Death is closely watching you, and the people around you. Do not serve the king who howls, for catastrophe will befall in anyone related to the two cursed beings."}
So that was it.
I chuckled bitterly, realizing the truth in his words. Yet even if i did come into terms with it. What else can i do? I've tried to hard to change my fate, but it looks like i was the one who did this to myself.
I voluntarily threw myself in. Why? i somehow knew that even if i try to change my destiny, it will only result in its original course. So it was better to leave before i could influence other people.
Like Ramuel.
I couldn't hide it, even when i turned my head, i couldn't hold back the tears that finally fall.
How pathetic Syrena, you tried your best to look composed but look at you wailing in front of him right now.
"Let her go you fucking leech!"
My eyes widened.

When i turned to my right, Beta Jaxon was snarling at Ramuel, his hand gripping Ramuel's arm. I was too startled to see him acting up that i failed to notice that even Ramuel fumed at his behavior right now.
"Don't touch me furface." Ramuel's fangs shows in irritation.
I was expecting Beta Jaxon to talk back since he often dislikes fighting but what happened next was completely different. My eyes opened in shock when he suddenly lands a blow in Ramuel's face so fast that even a pureblood like him wasn't able to see it coming.
I blinked.
Ok what just happened.
His grip on my shoulder loosened so i took a step back away from him, hiding behind beta Jaxon.
"I said let her go, are you deaf?" Beta Jaxon lowly growls.
I tapped his shoulder, "Are you crazy?! he's a pureblood! and i just told you no fighting right?!"
He cracks his knuckles, his eyes darkening when he looked at me for a second. "Stand back Syrena, we're not done yet."
I gulped, this is the first time i saw him like this.
Even though i don't get why he's jumping into a fight like an idiot. I trusted my gut feeling that he knows what he was doing, after all. He's the beta of the strongest pack in the continent.
Ramuel laughs, wiping off the pinch of blood at the side of his lips, "Who's this motherfucker? you actually dare lay a hand on a pureblood?"
"Why not? leeches like you disgust me the most!"
Ramuel's eyes dangerously glowed red, his bloodlust looming around the surroundings. "Foolish dog, should i just kill you?"
Oh no.
Just like that, Ramuel snaps.
He grips Beta Jaxon's neck in an insant at slammed him down on a table, the wood smashing into pieces because of the intensity. Before Ramuel could land a critical blow in his neck, Beta Jaxon swiftly rolled away from the attack. He stood up kicked the back of Ramuel's knees, making him kneel at the ground. He was about to land a kick in his head if it wasn't for Ramuel's flexible body that also anticipated his attack.
My nose scrunched in annoyance, What the hell is this guy doing? Ramuel never tried to use his ability on Beta Jaxon, is he underestimating him?
If that's the case, then he's just digging his grave. There's a reason why Jaxon was chosen to stand beside Alpha King Zyrus.
It's because Beta Jaxon possesses a unique trait of reflecting any magic or abilities that is used on him, not like the Alpha king who is completely immune to any energy or mana directed to him.
In short, Beta Jaxon is a walking mirror!
I sighed.
Their fight went on for a bit, exchanging blows as they destroyed the place in the process. The fight finally comes into a close call when Ramuel's movement started to slow down.
I frowned.
Ramuel's not one to get tired immediately but since he has a body of leaking magic, all the offensive magic that he posses is being reflected back at him due to Jaxon's ability. As soon as he realized that fact, he tried leaping away but only to end up lowering his guard, Jaxon quickly knew that he was slowing down so he took advantage of it.
Appearing from behind, Beta Jaxon lands a powerful kick on his back. He flew away to the wall.
I looked at Ramuel in pity. "Are you done playing? if so, let's talk now-"
"Shut up!" Ramuel stands, stabilizing his balance. "I was being merciful yet it looks like i got too carried away."
He spits out blood.
Beta Jaxon growls at him. He didn't hesitate anymore and shifted to his wolf, a greyish large wolf that i have never seen before made me stare at awe. He was huge- almost as large as the Alpha king!
I gasped.
Oh my, this is my first time seeing him shift into his wolf.
"Good!" Ramuel laughs hysterically, "Let's go all out huh?"
He took off at the same time Beta Jaxon ran towards him. As expected, he tried using his freezing ability on Jaxon and failed miserably, his eyes widened in shock. Because of this, Jaxon was able to lunge at his body and trap him down on the ground. Jaxon canines directed to him, he tried biting Ramuel's head off but since Ramuel was first to kick his abdomen, he was able to get out from his clutches.
"Damn it! Why didn't it work?!" He huffs, holding his injured arm that almost got cut off due to the wolf's weight.
But it didn't stop there.
The ability that he tried using on Beta Jaxon, backfired at him. His body slowly freezing from his head to toe, even he couldn't mutter anything due to utter confusion.
I looked at Beta Jaxon's Wolf.
As expected, he really reflected his ability.
Beta Jaxon walked towards him with threatening growls, he saw how Ramuel couldn't move anymore since Ramuel's whole body except his head was frozen, so it was obvious that Beta Jaxon was enjoying the pathetic view of Ramuel in front of him.
I gritted my teeth.
This can't happen, Ramuel can't die! I'm still in his debt- what's more we really do need him right now. He's the only person who could help us. Since in the first place. he was the person i've been waiting in these 3 days!
I didn't care anymore, I ran towards their spot and shielded Ramuel from Beta Jaxon. Upon my action, His wolf snarled at me in displease.
"Stop it! i told you we have to extract information without any violence!"
He growls at me, this time with anger.
I have no choice.
I have to lie to him.
"If you kill him right now, all the people here will be frozen forever! Do you want that to happen?!"
As soon as he heard me, he stopped growling. It was obvious that he felt scared when he looked around us, looking worried at the humans who were frozen at their spot. Thank god i though about this since Beta Jaxon is known to be righteous after all.
He let out a one last growl before shifting back to his human form, his face still furrowing in displease.
"Thank you," I sighed in relief and turned away immediately since he was butt naked in front of me.
