The situation is dire.
I don't know what exactly she's thinking that she made the whole werewolf society her enemy, even going as far as to collude with a vampire. It was vexing how unpredictably complicated her movements are right now.
I closed my eyes.
{"To end this damnable repeating cycle of curse. I will kill my own mate and end it once and for all."}
I opened my eyes, even when i tried repeating the words that she said that day, it still didn't make sense that she suddenly turned vengeful after all that she's gone through just to be with him.
At first, she still hasn't convinced me that much, but after hearing what happened at the arena between her and Alpha King Zyrus, i realized that she was really serious, she would go so far as to even make everyone her enemy- it was like she was going to the edge of the cliff by herself.
"Why?" I grieved. "Luna Christal has really done it this time. After all she did, how can she be accepted as our luna?"
She can't recover from this, every werewolf will now remember her betrayal.
I covered my face with my palms. I wasn't gonna cry, even if i wanted to- a Dark witch like me has no tears to spare. All can i think of was being helpless towards the situation. It was that severe that i was starting to get scared at what was to come.
"Knowing our Alpha, he'll protect her again." Beta Jaxon curses under his breath. "So what now? we'll become enemies with every werewolf now?"
He laughs bitterly, placing a hand on his temples.
I gripped the blanket with a grim face. "Protecting her would only bring his downfall, we must avoid that from happening."
His eyes widened towards me, just judging from his expression he couldn't believe that i was saying those words. He took a step forward, "Do you know what you're saying? you're actually giving her up-"
"Yes!" I yelled, the despair swelling inside of me. "I'm giving up on someone who is now on the verge of being a catastrophe! if she really finishes her goal, she will never forgive herself!"
"Aren't you jumping in conclusions?! Luna Christal has her own reasons for doing all-"
"Shut up." I closed my eyes.
I knew that he believed in her, and i won't lie that i also still believe in her. But at this point where even both of us can't figure what she's thinking, made it clear how disastrous the situation has come to be.
"Did you know? Luna Christal is aiming for the Alpha King's head now. She's gone to the point where our voices nor anyone can pull her away now."
"What?!" He exclaimed. "She wants to kill her mate?! Does that even make sense to you!?"
"She's a demigod right now! do you still not get it?!" I shot back.
"Still, there must be some kind of reason why she's being like this. After all she did to pursue the Alpha King, i refuse to believe that she's throwing it all away just like that." He clenched his fists in anger.
I chuckled bitterly. "That's just it Beta Jaxon, she's simply just throwing it all away JUST like that. Whether you believe it or not, is up to you."
I yanked the blanket away from my body, turning my body to the side of the bed as i tried to sit up. Fortunately, Beta Jaxon was there to support my back so i wouldn't easily fall.
"Thank you," I said barely a whisper. "We should go to the Alpha King right now, who knows what kind of things he might do?"
My eyebrow furrowed, realizing that it was a very crucial time for him since he just broke the seal. I couldn't start to fathom just what kind of thoughts is running through his mind after realizing that Christal is his mate after all.
We have to do everything we can.
As i forced my body to stand up, i used a bit of magic to replace the missing energy within my body. Thanks to that, i was able to stand on my own two feet despite the lingering magic that the demi-god powers left within me.
"Let's go." I ushered him.
He nods, after that we slowly made our way towards the Alpha King's room. Just as we expected, we weren't there anymore, not a pint of presence was detected when i tried slipping in some dark magic so we decided to come to the second next location.
His office.
It was open, but what's inside completely shocked us.
The whole office was rummaged through, some broken glass were scattered around the floor and a huge hole was made at the other side of the wall behind us.
"Damn, he has never got angry like this." Beta Jaxon murmured. "And where the hell is his desk anyway?"
I pointed towards the hole.
As we looked at each other, we gulped as we took steps closer to the hole he just made. We immediately saw the desk that was missing, shattered into pieces in the front doors of the kingdom, some werewolves passing by through it looking at our direction.
I sighed. "The Alpha King still surprises me at things like this."
"I'm not even surprised anymore. I'm just relieved that i'm seeing no dead person in his office. it's a good thing he vented his anger on a desk." He replies.
"Where could he have gone?"
"I know." He turns to me. "It's the only place i could think of right now."
"Where?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Maria!"
As we rushed our way towards the said location. Even just from a meters away from Maria, we could already hear the outcries of individuals, mostly from females that was screaming non-stop.
Already thinking who could it be, we didn't hesitate any more and ran towards Brianna's cell.
Just as i expected, the alpha king was there too!
"Alpha King!" Beta Jaxon exclaims upon seeing him.
His body was filled with blood that was not his, he held a whip that was made from silver. Most importantly, he never cared that we arrived, he continued whipping Brianna merciless.
I gasped.
As i looked at Brianna, she doesn't even look scared, her face was filled with anger as she endured the torture.
"Damn it, he's not responding." Beta Jaxon looms.
He wasn't just angry, the Alpha King is beyond furious. Just by looking at the amount of blood that was inside this room, i can't even imagine just how long he kept her alive while making her suffer endlessly.
"Alpha King." I called out.
Yet he didn't respond.
"Alpha King Zyrus!"
Still, no word.
The screams of Brianna echoed throughout the place, the look of anguish and anger plastered on her face could immediately tell just how long she endured the torture. It was so horrifying that i had no choice but to stop his hand using magic.
Even if i was to risk my life for it.
"Syrena." Beta Jaxon gasps at my action. "Stop that!"
I shook my head, not listening to his words.
For the first time, he growls violently towards us, finally noticing our presence. I felt my magic itching to disperse just by the amount of aura he surrounded himself to. I knew that the Alpha King is somehow immune to magic so i knew my magic won't last long.
Even so, i used it just to make him notice us.
"DO YOU WANT TO DIE?!"
He breaks the magic, making me kneel instantly.
"Alpha King! now is not the time to vent your anger on a criminal! We should prepare ourselves for the days that are to come!" I pleaded, my heart beating nervously just by feeling his resentment aimed at me.
Beta Jaxon accompanies me, kneeling beside me.
"She's right Alpha King! Please don't get too caught in your emotions! the whole continent is watching us right now! it's not wise to punish these traitors right now."
I gulped.
We couldn't imagine just how angry he was right now, nor we can look at him in the eye. We were to scared that we both felt ourselves shaking when he started to approach our spot.
I inhaled, Is this it?!
I exhaled, are we gonna die?!
Closing my eyes in anticipation. We were both shocked when he started speaking instead of slashing our heads off.
"What you did is out of place Syrena, if you dare use that filthy magic against me again, i won't hesitate to kill you." He growls.
"Yes! i vow to never do it again Alpha King!" I said, my head still facing the ground.
"Jaxon, raise your head." He ushers.
When he raised himself from our kneeling position, he stood up steadily and bowed towards the Alpha King, displaying his respect. "Alpha King, forgive my insolent behavior. But as your beta, i had no choice but to guide you whenever you feel lost."
It was then, i saw droplets of water in front of me. As i slowly sought the source, my eyes widened.
It was from the Alpha King.
