Chapter 161

When i finally opened my eyes, the first thing i saw was a white ceiling. I was lying on a bed and somehow my body ached all over, as i started to look around my surroundings that's when i saw Beta Jaxon sitting idly beside me.
"Beta.. Jaxon?" I mumbled, still feeling weak.
"Witch, you're finally awake." He sighs. "You've been out for almost 9 hours now."
What?
When i tried to sat up, i just failed miserably, my whole body surrendering to the pain that was due to the demi-god's powers that have been absorbed within me.
I held onto my side, Beta Jaxon supporting me in a hurry.
"Don't get up so fast, it's a miracle that you're even awake."
"W-What do you mean?" I said with a confused look.
If it's been several hours since the incident in the arena, then that just means that something already happened to those two right? Did Christal succeed in her plans?
Did she actually kill the Alpha King?
"Tell me!" I cut him off from saying anything, tugging his shirt. "What happened earlier!"
"Calm down, calm down!" He pulls himself away, wary that a witch like me was touching him. After stepping back in a certain distance, he sighs in frustration, placing his palm on the surface of his temples.
"Since it's part of my orders, then i guess it makes sense to tell you everything. So listen up," He starts. "After everyone has been put to sleep, some werewolves were able to wake up earlier than expected. I was also included in one of those werewolves who woke up first in the arena, while the other remained asleep. At first, it was suspicious that there was no one in stage, not even the Alphaking himself was there."
My eyes opened in wary. "What? where is the alpha king?! you still haven't found him?!"
"Calm down your horses, can you let me finish first?" He sighs, scratching the back of his head. "The AlphaKing wasn't actually missing. As soon as i woke up, he already mind-linked me to go back to the pack."
I sighed in relief, "That's good, so he wasn't killed."
He laughs. "Are you kidding me? who can even kill an Alpha King?"
"Christal is a demi-god."
"So what? A half-god can't kill someone like the Alphaking, our alpha himself is a living myth. Even the heavens can't touch him so recklessly." He refuted back.
I shook my head. "A god and a demi-god are different in a lot of aspects. The reason why a god can't hurt a mortal so easily is that it's one of the heavenly rules to not interfere in the fates of the creations. A demi-god is a different case! there's still a lot of things needed to be studied about them. The only thing i'm sure about their uniqueness is they are someone from both the mortal and immortal word. In short, a demi-god could mess with both worlds if they wanted to!"
That's right, a lot of people don't know their existence because they are rare creations that are even banned to the eyes of the mortals. Gods that birth a demi-god often seals their child away to prevent any chaos that may occur in the wheel of fate.
I've read it in one of the oldest books in the kingdom's library. It was written by the very first Alphaking Yasha who fell in love with a demi-god. I was just new to the pack when i first read it, it wasn't a very popular book since it was already tattered and had some missing pages. Even if it was in that state, my interest only grew about it. In the end, it benefitted me after meeting Christal.
He crosses his arms. "I get where you're going, but first mind to tell me how you knew she's a demi-god? Back then in Maria, you seemed like you knew her well enough to defend her from the Alpha King."
I sighed, thinking if i should release the spell that i placed within him to reveal the truth. After thinking for some while, i raised my head once again, picking up the wand from the table beside me.
"What are you doing?" He steps back in defense
"I'm revealing everything to you. Isn't this what you want?" I smirked.
"By using a wand? Don't make me laugh, you're obviously trying to harm me." He lowly growls.
"My my.. Beta Jaxon, we have worked alongside for many years, yet you still do not trust me."
"Who would trust a Dark witch?" He shot back.
I admit, he was right, no one would really trust a Dark witch even if they have spent their years or whole life with them since a Dark witch's soul is usually changing and dark, meaning that we are very unpredictable creatures.
I coughed uncomfortably. "I just want to release the spell we placed in you."
"What spell are you talking about now?"
"It's a low-level mind seal that blocks some specific memories to your brain."
Not liking that fact that i placed a seal on him, he growls violently towards me. His bloodlust rising due to his anger. "What?! How could you put such a spell on me?!"
"Calm down, calm down." I mocked, repeating his gesture from earlier. "It's one of the AlphaKing's orders."
Well.. no that's not true.
But i won't tell him that.
"Why would the Alpha King even mess with my memories?" His eyes widen, believing every word i say despite all those words that he said against me.
"Never mind that, i'll do it quickly so you won't be in pain too much." I smiled, before quickly spinning my wand before he could even fight back.
As the black mana surrounds him, it quickly enters his cranial cavity, making him fall on his knees as soon as i felt the spell dispersing from within him. His eyes darken due to the continuous gush of memories that was showing itself at him. It took a while before his eyes' color went back to its natural color.
He winced in pain, holding his head. "W-What the fuck."
"I know how you feel, Luna Christal is really stubborn huh." I said, seeing that he couldn't comprehend what he just saw.
"This is crazy." He huffs out, standing up. "Luna Christal.. is a demi-god?! and the Alphaking has another mate?! just what the hell is going on here?!"
I sighed, "The Alphaking doesn't have another mate. Amber is just an impostor."
"How can you be sure?" He asks.
"Well, I've done some test by the Alpha King's orders and it really turned out that Brianna and Amber were connected to each other in some weird connection. I haven't reported it to the Alphaking so we'll just have to wait and see." I replied, frustrated that i was one step late.
If i have told the Alphaking sooner, he wouldn't have to push Luna Christal that far.
"This is all messed up." He utters. "I can't believe that this is all happening."
I raised an eyebrow, suspicious that he was reacting too strong about it. "I know you're shocked but everything that happened is still fixable, we could break the seal in the Alphaking's mind-"
"No." He shook his head. "He told me earlier that he broke the seal already!"
"What?!" I exclaimed, "How?! how did that happen?!"
"I don't know, the Alpha King wouldn't tell me in detail. Ugh damn it! Everythings a mess right now." he said, his face filled with uneasiness.
He started to pace back and forth that it also started to make me bothered that his eyes were trying to hide something from me.
"Everything's a mess? why? is there something that i should be aware of?"
He nervously nods towards me. "After what happened earlier in the arena, every pack is preparing for war."
"War?!"
He curses under his breath. "it's because of Luna Christal! the alpha of Half-Moon saw her leaving with a vampire. Not just that, the news about the relationship between the Alpha King and the Demi-god also spread in an instant. Every pack is now questioning RedBloodMoon in terms of loyalty."
"Oh my." I covered my mouth, shocked that it all happened after the incident. "So? how did the Alpha King respond?"
He sulks. "The Alpha King.. locked himself in his office. He never responded to any calls from the other alphas yet, His last orders were to guard you before you wake up."
My eyebrow furrowed.
"I think it's because of the Dark witches that we caught during the arena incident. They were out cold just like you so we had no trouble bringing them to maria. They're the ones who were hired to expose Luna Christal, but it looks like it doesn't really matter now. She exposed herself to the whole werewolf society by herself, and i can't imagine just what she's thinking when she did that." He groans in disappointment.
It was no question why us Dark witches were reacting so negatively in the demi-god's power- i could only think of one reason. It's probably because a demi-god's power borders from the mortal and immortal realm, their pure innate magic nature is more powerful than White Witches.
Which made it very dangerous for us.
