"Hey you alright?" Basti asks out of the blue.
I turned around and saw worry plastered to their faces.
After talking to that annoying Alpha King, i returned to my friends to catch up once again, but this time we talked somewhere out of the range of the Zyrus.
"Who'll be alright after being confronted by the Alpha King?" Jake grunts.
They all glared at jake.
"What? would you be alright if the Alpha King talks to you?" jake pouts.
I felt relieved knowing that these guys still remember me. And regardless of what i did before, they were still willing to be friends with me. As i thought about it, my lips curls into a smile.
i chuckled, "Don't worry guys I'm fine so far, we just talked about some trivial matters."
We were now just hanging out by one of the quarters near the arena, where i would join the monthly trials, a few weeks from now. As we talked about the things we missed out, and what happened during my disappearance, one of them asks me about the rumors they heard.
"dude, i still don't get why you would sign up for the monthly trials? i mean did they force you? is that some kind of punishment since you left Delta without permission? that's what's been circulating around for a while." Omar asks worriedly.
'Well, it does kinda sound like a punishment', she thought.
"Shut up dude! don't you remember almost dying by her hands." Basti argues.
"Nope i just remember her telling us all that she was born without eyeballs." He replies, everyone burst into laughter.
"I'm sorry! i just can't reveal my identity at that time, since the Elders were keeping their eyes on me." I chuckled.
It was half-true, the main purpose of me joining Delta is to formally join Redbloodmoon as a certified warrior, and to escape the eyes of the Elders trying to find my whereabouts at that time. But if it was about me faking my gender...
It would just be because of Zyrus's possessiveness.
'Well the line of Elders have ended quite some time now, so i guess only the higher-ups in RedBloodMoon knows that i was their Luna.' She thought carefully.
I was thinking too much of it, that's why i was confused when they all stared at me suddenly.
"What."
"Well?" Jm says, as if waiting for an answer.
"Oh i'm sorry, i was thinking about something, come again?" i said.
"He asked you why would the previous elders target you, were you involved in THAT incident?" Basti says mysteriously.
"What incident?"
"You do know that the Elders are all dead right?" Basti asks.
i nodded, i heard about it during my talk with Syrena before.
"We're not sure of what exactly happened, but they told me that the AlphaKing purged his kingdom. An envoy from our pack came back shivering like crazy that day, he said he saw mountains of dead bodies. But you know what scared him the most?" Basti stops.
We were all suddenly intrigued by the story, even though i were the only person who still hasn't heard about it in our group, their eyebrow furrowed as if they didn't know the story.
"He also killed Luna Clara."
They all gasped, except me.
'Goodjob Zyrus.' I laugh to myself, i didn't realize i was making a creepy face infront of them
Before i realize it, they were all looking at me, their face scrunching in horror.
"i knew there something was wrong with this she-wolf" -Jake.
"What do ya'll expect? She even argued with the Alpha King earlier." -Mark.
"Yea so? killing your own mate is still unforgivable you know, i just wonder how a monster the Alpha King could be, i mean he killed his own mate, and now he's entering a political marriage with SilverFang" -Kennt.
I rolled my eyes towards them. "Clara isn't his mate."
Jake snaps his finger, pointing it towards me. "Some were also saying that! i mean who would dare kill their mate? RIGHT?!"
"I don't know man, if it's the Alpha King, then there might be some facts about those rumors floating around." Grover denies.
Looking at them, they also changed after all. Every one of their physiques improved compared to the past. I would say that they're probably 3rd level or something.
I sighed, what am i even thinking? of course they changed.
I'm the only one who keeps getting stuck at my own pace.
I stand up. "Men shouldn't waste time talking about gossip you know, go back to training."
As i was about to leave, Basti stops me. "Oh come on, we're on a break. you know how rare breaks are in training right? Stay for a little longer."
I looked carefully at them, they were all pouting like puppies.
"Are you kidding me? you're all just being lazy."
"We're not lazy- wait." Jake stoods up, realizing something. "You still haven't told us your real name, surely it's not Helios right?
I laughed, 'these guys are so serious being friends with me'
I suddenly remembered how Syrena told me not to get attached to anyone in Delta due to my identity crisis back then. But being with them right now, i could only say making connections is really involuntary.
You really don't get to decide.
"Then." I smiled. "My name is Christal of BlueStone pack, a pleasure to meet you idiots."
