Well even if i wanted to contain my emotions, it was hard seeing my mate with another she-wolf. "She really doesn't deserve to be Luna."
"i don't completely disagree with you." he laughs harder. "but you know, yesterday the AlphaKing talked to me about you."
i raised an eyebrow. "What did he say?"
He mockingly looks at me. "wait a minute, do you like the AlphaKing?"
I didn't know Jaxon would have this carefree personality with strangers, before he was so stern towards me. So he's being like this because i'm no one right?
"What do you think?"
"i don't know about you. but a special examiner doesn't need to do labor, like you did for the past days, and especially not accompany the alphaking wherever he is. You should be training by yourself for the monthly trials, that's what should be happening."
"So?" i asked confused.
"I talked about it three days ago with the alphaKing, i asked why he let you work by his side and he said he felt weird being with you."
"Weird?"
"Well he couldn't explain it." he said standing up. "He has always hated females going near him but he made an exception for you."
"But don't get your hopes up kid." he sighs. "He also said that his marriage pact with the SilverFang is bound to happen."
I frowned, my chest feeling heavy as i tried my best to hide my saddened state. "yeah i get it."
I nodded and exited his office.
Now that i think about it. It's been a two weeks after the death of Herus. Charles must've been devastated by his death. I sighed as i tried to divert my attention to something else.
As i got out the building, i was surprised to see the boys from Delta.
ALPHAKING ZYRUS's POV
"Why are you letting her go just like that?" Brianna scoffs.
I ignored her remark and headed to my seat once again. Picking up the documents, i started my work once again.
"Ugh hello? Can you atleast make eye contact."
I looked at her. "I'm letting her go for your sake."
"At what grounds?!"
I slammed the documents down and placed my hand in my forehead in frustration. "Coming here without prior notice, worse is you're not even part of the pack. Do you know what i do to those who dare fuck up this rule?"
She avoids my gaze.
I stood up and headed towards her spot. My height towering over her, "I kill them instantly."
"Fine." She grumbles before going out.
I sighed in relief as the annoying woman was gone and headed back to my work once again. My eyes caught a certain report coming from the east border saying that there was a vampire caught.
Vampires never liked being in a middle of a fight or even start one with other species, they like things quiet. But right now, things aren't that quiet.
My eyes landed yet on another report about a 1st Level delta trainee dead outside the Delta Grounds. I scanned it and saw a familiar feeling as i read his name.
"Herus?" I wondered.
A Stone pack pack soon to be Alpha? He died so soon? Pathethic.
I stopped scanning other documents and decided to take a break, i walked over the window with the coffee mug on my hand. My eyes widened when i saw a particular someone talking to guys.
As i see her smile through the window, i felt my anger rising up more. Even my hearing senses betrayed me as i heard what they were talking about.
"No way! You're a woman?"
"Yeah, sorry for not telling you all since i've got a bit situation on my hand." She replied.
"You're hot!"
I don't know why, but suddenly my grip worsened and the cup broke into pieces.
I followed my instincts as i suddenly felt angry towards that female. I left my office and headed towards her spot. When i'm about a mile close, the other guys must've noticed me walking towards them and notified her about it.
She looked behind her.
"What the hell are you doing Helios?" I said irked.
"AlphaKing." They all greeted.
I ignored them. "Shouldn't you be training?"
The gal had the nerve to roll her eyes at me. "Shouldn't you be with your soon-to-be Luna."
"Does it concern you?" I asked.
"Psh, why would a disgusting rogue like me concern myself with your luna." She said and walked away from me.
I lowly growled in frustration and followed her steps. "This is not how you treat the AlphaKing, i can get you beheaded for insubordination."
She stops, making me jolt all of a sudden. She turned her head towards me. "Then kill me! Why don't you just do it earlier?!" She says, grabbing my collar
I grabbed her hand, and furiously yanked it away from my collar.
"Do you have to hate me so much?"
She shook her head. "You wouldn't understand what i'm feeling."
"Then would those guys know?!" I said, irked.
She smirks. "Of course, better than you."
I couldn't explain this feeling, somehow all i could identify how i felt is probably rage. I turned away, leaving her to make my way back to my office. My knuckles tight, i felt this sudden urge to kill someone.
I suddenly took a turn and headed towards Beta Jaxon. I kicked the door open.
"Alphaking? You should've just mindlinked me if you wanted anything." Jaxon exclaims.
"Take the protection off." I said angry.
"Pardon?"
"TAKE THE PROTECTION OF THAT DAMNED WOMAN!" I growled angrily and kicked the wall off its place.
I was being so patient, to think i actually put protection for you before the monthly trials must've been a mistake.
"What happened? Why so sudden?" He asked worriedly at his wall before looking at me.
"She doesn't know what respect means." I growled. "Let her know what happens to special examiners before the monthly trials."
If this doesn't calm my senses down, i don't know what probably will.
"Don't you care about her? You even went so far to put her by your side to ward off the guys who'll be taking the monthly trials. If you didn't she would've have probably died just like the other special examiners before the monthly trials." He says confused.
"Care about her?" I snickered. "Why would i care about a rogue? Much less a sassy she-wolf."
He laughs. "Whatever you say, lemme just get you something to drink."
He leaves me alone in the room. I laid my back in frustration, my hand on my forehead, i suddenly realised how infuriating my actions were for the past week because of an unknown she wolf.
The first time i saw her, i felt something weird about her, it's not attraction. But curiosity. I knew she was never dangerous right from the very start since the way she looks at me was different, even the aura she aimed at me was calm and somehow.. loving.
"No.. what the fuck am i even thinking about." I sighed.
My thoughts are a complete nightmare. It's really weird, her body frame reminds me so much of that woman in the basement. But their appearance is very far from being so.
After a while, Jaxon returns with two mugs on his hand. He lays it down and sat infront of me. "You should be grateful i'm personally handing you coffee."
"I'm your alpha."
"Right" he laughs. "So, are you still sure about removing the protection?"
I sighed. "I thought about it, it's unfair for me to treat special examiners differently. If she can't prove herself, then what's the point in letting her join the ranks... right?"
He stares at me for a while before giving me a look of doubt.
"What?"
"Nothing." He shook his head. "It's just you look like you're being forced to say those words AlphaKing. Truthfully since i've always been on your side i'm gonna tell you a bit about what Helios and i talked about earlier."
My eyes glimmered in anticipation. "What did you talk about?"
"It's about you."
"Me?" I said, a smile forming on my face. "How could that be?"
He starts laughing. "Geez! What the hell did i just see?"
I growled, taking the cup on my hand. "Looks like the bottom rank is vacant for a while, do you want to take on the job?"
He stops. "Come on you can't abuse your power like that. But seriously, she looked really bothered about your marriage pact with SilverFang."
"You think she likes me?"
"Well, both of you barely know each other Alpha, what's more you can't get away from the fact that she's a rogue and you're the AlphaKing. I don't know what's going inside both of your heads." He shook his head in confusion.
Thinking about it, she was being so angry with me a while ago. So it's about Brianna?
I smirked.
I stood up and headed towards the door, before i left i said. "Forget what i said about removing the protection."
