Chapter 250

Della’s POV

Something inside me trembled at how close he was. Staring back at his eyes, that’s full of desire and dominance, pulled me into a trance of inner dilemma.

A part of me wanted to swoon over at him and let him bring me to cloud nine again as he did last night, but the rational part of me knew better than to betray Albert again and disappoint the Moon Goddess.

I bit the inside of my cheek as hard as I could until I could taste the rusty metallic taste of my own blood.

Taking a deep breath, I calmed myself. Don’t be swayed by him, Della!

Looking straight back into his eyes with all the calmness I could master pushed him away from me. But with his resistance, it only made a few inches of gaps between us, with his hands remaining on my hips.

Emotionless, I asked, “Well, as business partners… apart from business, what else could we possibly talk about, Mr. K?”

I knew that what happened last night caused all this. He probably thought he could do whatever he wanted now, and that’s why there was no longer a line between us. However, that was just all caused by the alcohol and our drunken state.

It was an accident I felt nothing about but regret.

“Business partners?” he asked through gritted teeth, and his eyes narrowed.

I could sense the anger building up within him as his stance became more guarded, and his demeanor screamed dominance.

“Did I not satisfy you enough yesterday, Princess, that you got mad at me?” he asked.

I scoffed and was ready to retort, but a gasp escaped my lips instead when his knee suddenly pushed its way toward the door that was behind me through the in-between of my legs. He even purposefully pushed his legs up, making me feel his knees pressing to my core.

I was lost for words and frozen, fighting an inner fight between my body and rationality. Mr. K took advantage of my moments of weakness.

“If that’s the case, let me make it up for you.”

After saying that, I felt his hands starting to grope around my body. His right hand went underneath my shirt and slid through my back while his other hand went down to my legs and pulled it up, pressing it against his side of my legs.

His head leaned down over me and started planting kisses from my collarbone up to my neck and jaws, teasing his way toward my lips.

Involuntarily, I leaned my head back as I felt his tongue and lips sucking at the corner of my neck and shoulder.

Fuck! That would leave a mark! But it all felt so good. Every part of my body was waking up, and my fisted hands started to loosen up as they began to give in to the desire.

I also could feel Trisha getting more excited and anticipating more. She wanted to break free and fully immerse herself in the pleasure Mr. K was giving us.

My lips parted a little to take a breath, as if the oxygen I was inhaling through my nose wasn’t enough. My core started feeling wet as his knee purposefully kept pressing up to me and making an eight to thoroughly entice me.

“Della…”

Suddenly, Albert’s voice and his innocent and loving face flushed in my mind. And like ice-cold water, every desire and lust building up in my body vanished.

As if drenched in coldness and immediately burned with fire, I struggled free from him and pushed him so hard that he slid back. If he wasn’t sturdy or skilled, he would have fallen out of balance and fell to the ground.

“Mr. K! Don’t go overboard! Don’t test my patience!” I shouted as I took a couple of deep breaths to completely calm myself.

Hurriedly, I fixed my clothes before I looked at him sternly. “I’m warning you, Mr. K. As much as I want to build a strong foothold here in Wakeland and as influential as you are here, I’m still the Lycan Princess!”

“I never said you aren’t,” he smugly said.

What a smart ass!

I let out a scoff and stood up properly. “No matter what the reason is, I’ll never sell my own body for the sake of Wakeland and satisfy your strange desire for this stupid game of power!”

His brows furrowed as if he was confused about my words.

Does he think he could fool me? Not a chance!

Before I came here, I knew as much as everything Sapphire could find out about him. I also learned that a long line of noble women wanted to sleep with him, but he entertained no one among them.

At first, I thought he wasn’t just that kind of guy, but then the second I came here, he willingly had sex with me.

What else could the reason be? He’s an ambitious beast! He probably thought that getting me a Lycan Princess was some kind of leverage he could have against the Lycan family.

That realization made my stomach crumble with disgust! I won’t be anyone’s trophy or tool!

Mr. K tilted his head. “What are you on about?”

Sneering, I took a dominant step toward him and put my hands over my waist. “Don’t act like a fool, Mr. K. I know your ambition! You’re not here merely for the Ruby Mines.”

Come on. Who would risk their lives to fight against the White Bear Pack for a small ruby business? There must be a greater purpose behind what he did.

With another step, I added, “It’s a resource none of the packs could muse well. It’s not limited here, and you can find it in many more places.”

“What–”

I held up my hand to stop him and continued, “I suggest you put aside your desire to infiltrate the Lycan family by trying to get on my pants and just have genuine cooperation with me, Mr. K.”

His words suddenly replayed in my mind as I stared into his eyes.

“She’s someone who is more important in my life. She’s…”

I scoffed inwardly. What a hypocritical liar!

I almost forgot how he told me he already had someone he loved, and yet here he was, having sex with me and flirting around! Anger instantly filled my heart at that realization.

“No! That’s not what I want. It’s—” Panic flashed in his eyes as he extended his hand and tried to grab me, but I was quick to react this time and avoided his touch.

Taking a step back, I cleared my thoughts and looked at him coldly. “As we agreed to cooperate beforehand, I won’t tell what happened between us and forget about it, thinking it’s all just an accident.”

“I…”

He tried to speak, but I intervened again and said, in a sturdy voice, “And I suggest you do the same, Mr. K, or we won’t have anything more to talk about in the future.”

He was silent for a while, but then he let out a sigh and shook his head, looking at me helplessly. “Come on, Princess. Our bodies are already intertwined, and I’ve already seen and kissed every part of you. How do you expect me to just forget all about that?”

Taking a step forward, he looked at me with deep eyes, emotions I couldn’t read. As dangerous as poison. “And I think you won’t be able to forget it as much as I knew I won’t.”

I stood stunned in my place as memories of our pleasurable night once again filled my brain.

It’s true. That’s a night I knew I would never forget. I could even still feel the lingering touches and kisses he planted on my body and how his length filled me all the way through.

He’s right about that. Completely right, but it was all lust and desire, and it’s not something that could blind me into doing something inappropriate just merely for pleasure.

I took another step back, put my hand in my pocket, and used my other hand to brush my hair. “It’s for the best, Mr. K, or else I could only wish that we won’t turn into enemies after I leave this door.”

With that, I fastened my phase and went out of the door, never looking back despite his voice echoing through the hallway.

I was here to save the Wakeland and won’t go astray from that. I won’t ever let any Rogues control the lifeblood of Wakeland, with or without Mr. K’s support!
