Chapter 249

I hate it! I hate it all! I hate how my body was fucking responding to his teasing and how my heartbeat was going crazy at his touch.
Though I was mentally and emotionally filled with anger toward him right now, my body seemed to have its own mind as it reacted to everything related to him.
For three years! I couldn’t be intimate with Albert, and here, Mr. K easily broke through the walls within me, which stopped me from having any intimate moments with Albert.
With those thoughts, anger built up within me even more.
“It’s just a small misunderstanding, Mr. K. We were both drunk last night, and one thing led to another.” I raised my head and kept a straight face as I looked at him straight into his eyes and uttered through gritted teeth, “We’re both adults, Mr. K. Let’s end it at this and pretend nothing happened.”
“Nothing happened?” he suddenly scoffed.
He shifted us both as the hands around my waist loosened up and started gliding through the side of my waist and right beneath the side of my breast.
His lips lingered against my ears as he spoke, “Did I not satisfy you with my performance last night, Princess?”
Pulling away just enough to meet my eyes, he added, his lips only millimeters apart from mine. “Is that why you thought it was a misunderstanding?”
When I felt him about to lean forward for a kiss, that’s when I pulled my strength back again after remembering the vows I had just given to the Moon Goddess a few minutes ago.
I twisted my hands into a motion to make him lose grasp of my wrists and used my feet to stamp on his before I kneed him in his legs.
My move pushed him back away. He stepped back, brushed the the dust off his sleeves, and looked up at me. With a look of loss in his eyes, but more of a stronger possessiveness.
Obviously, it didn’t inflict him much pain, it was enough to flicker a sense on him and make him lose his entire hold of me.
“Have some decency of respect, Mr. K!” I shouted before I fixed my appearance.
Bending down, I picked up my mask and wore it again.
After walking a few steps away from him and any of the walls he could possibly push me into, I pointed the finger at him, “Listen here, Mr. K, and listen carefully!”
To maintain respect, I put my hands down and crossed my arms together afterward. “I know that Wakeland relies on the medicine you and Deadtails provide us, but it doesn’t give you the right to do anything you want here or to me!”
His eyes behind his masked mask widened in pretend surprise. A smile formed on his lips as he backed away and sat half-seated on one of the tables. He leaned back a bit and spread his arms on his side, leaning them back against the table for support.
Tilting his head, he looked at me with a deep stare laced with desire and teasing. “You totally misunderstood me, Princess.”
I narrowed my eyes at him.
His smirk widened as his eyes swept my entire body before it landed back into my eyes. “I was only trying to please you.”
Please me?! Through that? Was he insane?
Hearing those words from him made me both skeptical and shocked. But whatever he was planning, one thing was for sure: he had a trap laid out before me.
For what was that trap? I didn’t know. But whatever that was, I wouldn’t fall for it. Not again.
Last night was the first and last I’ll ever entangle myself with him that’s not related to business.
When I vowed to the Moon Goddess that I’d be a loving wife, I also vowed that I would never betray Albert again.
Standing tall, I kept a straight face and changed the subject as I spoke in a professional and distant tone, “If you need to ask me anything or talk to me about business, you can reach out to my Beta and set an appointment through her.”
Talking a step back, I opened the door. With my hand tightly holding the knob, I kept my eyes on him. “Obviously, this sacred place was no proper place to discuss any pack matters.”
With those words, I turned around and was ready to take a step back, but he hastily held my wrist and stopped me mid-way from taking a step outside.
“Wait!” he called out. As I had no choice, considering he was holding me, I turned again and looked at him threateningly.
Glancing down to his hand on my wrist, I pointed out, “Let go, Mr. K.”
His eyes narrowed, and when I tried to pull my hands off from him to leave, he swiftly moved and pulled me back.
In a swift motion, he aggressively pushed the door close and gently slammed me, sandwiching me between him and the door.
He raised the hand he was holding and put it against his chest, where I felt his fast-beating heartbeat, which seemed to start synching with my own pounding heart.
His face leaned back closer to me as his other hand set on my hips.
“Tell me…” he spoke slowly, almost seductively, before he licked his lips wet – a motion that almost took my breath away as I was reminded of how his tongue brought wonders to my body last night.
The thumb of his hand that was on my hips slowly rose the hem of my shirt before he made a slow and teasing circular motion on my skin, sending jolts through my entire body.
He leaned closer, lips brushing through the corner of my lips every other word as he continued to ask, “Is business the only thing we can talk about?”
My mind almost went blank, and I stopped breathing. I was completely frozen on the spot, fearing that one wrong move could cause our lips to fully intertwine.
