Chapter 210

Kylian’s POV

“What?”

“I…” Henry looked helpless and totally confused as he tilted his head and looked at me with a deep sigh.

With pursed lips, I commanded, “Say it!”

Raising both his hands in surrender, he sighed for the nth time, almost giving up. “So… Is that the reason? You ignore Princess Della’s feelings and thoughts because you think she’s an omega?’

“Where are you going here, Herny?”

Bitterly smiling, he continued, “When we got that email, and you felt like saving her, I advised you. I told you not to care for Flora anymore just simply because you pity her or you think she needed you.”

“Kylian, have you ever thought for one second that Flora might be doing this for her own sake? I mean… Flora hurt Princess Della before. Remember, she faked being sick before, making you ask Princess Della to look after her instead of going to the meeting, which hurt her feelings?”

Okay… He just opt calling me his Alpha so he’s obviously annoyed and was now talking to me as his best friend.

As annoying as that was, I saw his point, and… that hurt like shit.

Leaning back, he went on, “That’s scheming. As the princess, according to the kingdom law, Flora would have been gravely sentenced. And we both know that’s just one of many things she did.”

What else could I say after that? There’s nothing for me to retort because that’s as clear as day.

Speechless, I slumped down to sit at my table, feeling the pain of stupidity and heartbreak surging in me as I reluctantly admitted that it was, indeed… my fault.

Subconsciously, my hand rose in frustration, messing my hair while I stared at the floor.

“Fuck it!” All I could say now was curses as I pushed more things out of my desk.

“It’s guilt! This stupid guilt!” I shouted while slapping my chest, trying to relieve the unbearable heaviness and pressure in my heart.

Hearing the approaching footsteps and seeing Henry’s familiar shoes, I looked up in grief. He had his brows furrowed. “Guilt? What are you talking about?”

“I did it! If I hadn’t agreed to Luna Laura to have had her own way of punishing Flora, however she wanted, and then Flora wouldn’t have to bear that much torture and violation. I… I never expected that it’d hurt Della…” I explained.

“That’s it, though…” He pointed at me. “That’s the real problem.”

“I heard you said you love her countless of times, and I never said anything. But now… Let me seriously advise you. Maybe you should start rethinking your love for Della because maybe…” he hesitated.

“Maybe what?”

“Maybe you don’t love her as much as you thought you did. Because if you do, she’ll be your priority above anything or anyone.”

“I’m the Alpha! I have more obligations that–”

“Which gives you more power and room to prioritize the woman you love. Because, unlike ordinary people, you have countless options! Having no choice is an irrational excuse from you. Besides… if that’s really the case, it’s better you give her up to her own fated mate.”

“I can’t do that. I lov–”

“What’s more important is that she’s pregnant with Albert’s child!” he finished, which struck me like a lightning bolt, burning right through my heart and soul.

I froze on my feet, unable to process his words properly. I stared at him like a fool, feeling pain burning in my heart.

“What d-did you just s-said? I… I mean… what do you mean by that? I…” I stuttered, unsure which first to ask and to say when my head started malfunctioning with the overload of questions.

“Come on, man. Have a seat first,” he calmly said before pulling me to a seat.

“When… How… I mean. How did you even though?” I asked, still in shock.

“Here.” He placed water on the coffee table before sitting beside me.

I see it. He wanted to help me calm down, but that wouldn’t help me. In fact, nothing could help me remain calm right now.

“During your cold war with Della, she became pregnant. I asked her who’s the father, but… she won’t tell me.”

After pausing a bit, he cautiously continued, “After thinking about it for a long time, I realize that there’s no other man it could be aside from Albert.”

“After all, he is her fated mate.” He shrugged and patted my shoulder. “Initially, I planned to hide this, and she also promised. But now, it seems that this news might help you feel a bit better. Maybe you’ll realize that you and her… aren’t really meant to be together.”

“That…both of you can’t be together anymore, and maybe it's time for you to… start a new life.”

“Are you okay?” he asked, staring at me.

She’s pregnant… Della’s pregnant… She’s actually pregnant!

Those words repeatedly echoed in me as my heart started beating so fast, and my wolf started feeling excited and a bit restless.

Slowly, the pain subsided, and a smile formed on my lips. I couldn’t help it anymore. I abruptly stood up, clapped, and rejoiced. “This is great!”

“Okay, that’s not what I was expecting. What do you mean?” I laughed,, seeing Henry’s puzzled expression.

“You’ve gone crazy…” he unconsioulsy uttered while staring at me.

Usually, I would have been angry, but not right now I saw a glimmer of hope that made me so happy.

Shaking my head, I grabbed his shoulders and exclaimed, “I know what to do! I can talk things out with Della! She’ll come back to me!”

“What do you mean? What else could be done?”

“That child–” I was about to share my thoughts with him when a series of knocks came at my door with the loud voice of my mother echoed outside.
