Chapter 209

Kylian’s POV

“Fuck it!” I shouted in fury, knocking the piles of stupid papers and stationeries out of the table.

Slamming myself down on my swivel chair, the scene that unfolded at the part kept playing in my head like a broken record. Della’s voice rejecting me echoed nonstop, continuously piercing sharp blades in my heart.

But the sharpest and deepest strike she sent my way was when she told me her fated mate was Albert.

I mean, Albert? Why the fuck should it be him of all the people?

Why should it be the man whom I had always been jealous of? More importantly, why should it be the man whom I once admired for loving so greatly?

It’s all fucked up! Why didn’t the Moon Goddess make it someone like Flora instead so…

I was rumbling, and my mind was all over the place. I didn’t even know what to think anymore.

But suddenly, when I slammed my hand on the table, I saw my reflection on my computer screen. Seeing the camera on top of the screen that seemingly glinting, I narrowed my eyes as my thoughts went back to earlier events.

“Right… How did it all happen so fast?” I whispered, asking myself.

Initially, I went there to save Flora. I won’t deny that. But only because I learned what she was going through, and I just found it too much… but that didn’t mean that I was betraying Della.

But the real issue at hand was… How was there a video of it? How was it recorded and played in that venue so fast? It wasn’t even three hours yet!

How the hell did Prince Jackson get that footage?

Questions kept coming to me one after another. I shook my head, clearing my thoughts, when I realized something: “Something went on! I’m sure someone is behind this.”

With that realization, my anger was even more fueled.

My chest was rising and falling heavily from the intense stimulation of my emotions. I was on the verge of knocking things out again when a series of knocks were heard from my door.

I had no plan of answering, but obviously, the person who knocked didn’t intend to stop until I let him in.

Irritated, I shouted, “Come the hell in!”

Henry came in with his hands in his pockets, taking his time walking toward me while he glanced around.

Sighing, he nodded, “Good, no alcohol around.”

I narrowed my eyes. “Why are you here?”

Sitting on one of the sofas, he solemnly looked at me with those deep eyes and asked, “Are you okay? Your heart wasn't broken into 8,000 pieces, was it?”

With determination and confidence, I told him, “Someone schemed this! I’m definitely sure of it! Otherwise, why would anyone be there to record it? How did that video get into Jackson's hands?”

Henry frowned. “Are you seriously?...Or you’re just hurt too badly?”

“I’m fucking serious!” I interrupted him and he finally sat up and looked at me.

“Who do you have in mind?”

Who else?

“It’s Jackson! I’m sure he deliberately had someone send that news about Flora to me, so I’ll fail to arrive on time at the banquet! I’m sure he’s also the one who manipulated everything and played that video recording for Della to see at the banquet!”

Not able to handle the tension and fury in me, I stood up and paced around while looking at Henry, continuing to explain. “Do you remember what happened today? Just right before we leave?”

Nodding his head, Henry replied, “Yes, we received an anonymous email from someone…”

Interrupting him, I continued, “Which contained a video of Flora being violated and…” I couldn’t even continue. What they did to Flora was just too inhumane. Mate or not… It’s hard to stomach and do nothing.

When I agreed to give Flora to Lauren, I never thought that Lauren would hate Flora so much that she would made Flora be raped by so many people. I thought Flora would just be locked up and suffer some hardship at most.

I saved Flora because I felt sorry for her, definitely not because I betrayed Della.

This was all a conspiracy! Someone used Flora to mislead Della, making her think that I had betrayed her.

Shaking my head, I continued, “Jackson is probably who had someone send that! You see? Someone planned all this!”

“Okay! I understand you, Alpha. But you had to calm down first. How about taking a seat?” he asked, standing up, trying to guide me to one of the seats, but I kept on going. The anger I was feeling was just too much right now.

Those tears? Those words? Those glints of pain in her eyes? Every word and expression of Della earlier kept hunting me.

“Calm down? How can I calm down?” I pointed outside the window, exclaiming, “That brother of hers who happened to be the Prince of the kingdom obviously didn’t want me to be with Della!”

Sighing, Henry approached me and patted my shoulder before pulling me to a seat. “After what happened, I called Diana several times.”

My eyes widened. “Did she say something? How’s Della? What’s the current situation?”

“I’m sorry,” he bowed his head. I tried to learn more and find some good news, but…”

Shaking his head, he continued, “Diana told me that since Luna Della – Princess Della had been greatly hurt by the Dark Moon Pack before in so many ways one could describe, both the King and the Prince had always wanted her to divorce you for so long.”

I froze, putting all my attention to his words.

I couldn't deny what he said. Della did suffer a lot back in Dark Moon. But she never told us her true identity. I’m sue that if anyone knew Della was the princess from the beginning, no one would dare to bully her.

“But apparently, Princess Della loves you so much and keeps on insisting on staying with you. Then, when you were injured after saving the princess, the prince decided to give you the last test…” Looking deeply at me, he regretfully added, “Unfortunately, you didn’t pass it…”

“I’m sorry, Alpha.”

Cold silence momentarily filled the air as I stared at Henry, processing everything he said.

Test? A fucking test? That’s a test?

At first, I was confused until I understood it well, and fury instantly surged in me. I was trembling as I felt my blood boil with anger.

Sarcastically, I asked, “So, what? Are you telling me that what happened is a test? Because of that banquet, has my marriage with Della already been decided? Just like that?”

“That’s ridiculous!” I exclaimed, standing up.

“Alpha, you have to calm down.” Henry stood up as well and looked seriously at me after letting out a deep sigh.

“What? Say it?” I agitatedly pushed.

“It’s not just about the party, actually…” He paused. “The root of all of this is that… you can’t abandon your fated mate…”

Stunned, I froze as my breathing calmed a bit, and my hazy mind cleared a bit. Flashes of everything that happened between Della and Flora flashed before me.

My eyes trembled, not able to fix in one area, and my breathing became shallow as understanding and regret slowly crept through me.

Whispering, I looked at the floor, calculating all my actions, “I didn’t know Della is the princess… I… I was clueless…”
