One call of my name and my breathing stopped.
“Oh, god!” I exclaimed in my mind, my heart pounded with indescribable joy while more tears streamed down to my cheek with my chin quivering.
Trembling, I sat up properly, looking up at the man lying on bed with his eyelids open. He stared at my swollen and misty eyes as he gently called, “Della…”
His hand rose and found mine, holding me weakly, but that’s all enough to make me regain all my strength back.
“Y-you… You finally woke up! Oh god! Thank you! I… I s-swear, I’ll never l-leave you again,” I swore in between cries and hiccups.
Kylian’s face was pale with evident weakness, but that smile that formed in his lips was brighter than what I’ve seen from him for months.
He raised his hand and wiped my tears with his thumb before he slid his hand back to my nape, pulling me down towards him until our eyes were only an inch away and the tip of our nose touching.
“I miss you,” he whispered.
“I miss you too…”
With that, he pulled me closer to him at the same time that I leaned it. Out lips collided and the sparks it brought could never be compared to any explosive nor did that sweetness it brought to my sense could be compared to any sweeteners.
It was brief but the best kiss we shared for years.
He deeply stared at me. “Della, always remember this. You are the most important person in my life.”
We heard a small commotion outside followed by teh door opening, putting a bigger gap between us, but I still remained by our side.
Standing on the door frame, Henry looked so stunned that I couldn’t comprehend if he was frozen in place or was in verge of crying.
“Henry!” I called out.
Finally, breaking from his daze, he blinked a couple of times and quickly stepped forward. A big smile formed on his stoic and arrogant face.
With genuinety that I hadn’t seen for quite some time, he happy said, “Kylian, you finally woke up!”
Gone were all the formalities in him. Right now, he was just plain old Henry, Kylian’s best friend.
With his hand stil enclaspign mine, Kylian looked at Henry with the same joyous expression. “I am. My wold finally woken up and I’m starting heal pretty quite fast.”
Henry let out a sigh of relief, fist-bumping in the air, making me let out a laugh a bit.
I never thought I’d see him that happy.
“That’s so good. I thought… We won’t know what to do if you leave us alone.”
Hearing that, Kylian clenched his jaw. With pursed lips, he said, “I know. I can hear and feel everything that’s happening even when I’m in coma.”
Looking sharply at Henry, he coldly said, “It’s time to deal with Luke’s crimes.”
Henry immediately agreed, nodded, and turned to elave the ward.
I stared at Kylian, observing his expression. After all, Luke’s still his father. No matter how bad he was, that bind between them was something no one could deny nor break.
His eyes were full of determination and firmness, but I could feel how tense his muscles were.
He was in pain as much as he didn’t want to have it seen, and my heart clench at that.
“He’s probably in more pain than anyone, and this is the biggest and most painful decision he’ll even do in his life.” I thought.
I, too, could never imagine punishing my own father. But it’s the responsibility attached to the title we carry.
Leaning down and scooting closer to him, I hugged him as tight as possible to make him feel my presence and support.
Luke’s not only his father, but he was also his role model as an Alpha. And suddenly, that crumbled down upon learning the crimson he did.
With Luke being a failure of a father and an alpha, there’s nothing more he could hold on to find respect and love for him. And that surely would bring him nothing but pain.
And with him hearing that his own father wanted to kill him… I could never imagine how broken and bleeding his heart must be now.
I felt an arm strongly wrapped around my waist and his hand caressing my hair gently. He whispered in a hoarse voice from dry throat, “I always see him as the best alpha and my role model… I never expect that my own father will be the one who will betray the pack first and sell it’s safety for money… And even resort to wanting to kill me.”
While saying that, his hold on me tigethened and I could feel the loud pound of his chest. He’s angry… no, he’s beyond furious and frustrated.
I looked up and held his cheek, making him look at me. “Luke is good at pretense. It’s not your fault that you didn’t see who he really is that face.”
Smiling a bit, I added, “Don’t worry, I have evidence against him which proves that he colluded with the Crimson pack and accepted bribes. I’ll hand it over to you and you can decide what to do.”
His eyes widened upon hearing my words, utterly surprise.
Then, his eyes suddenly became gentle and thoughtful as he stared at me while pushing the loose strand of my hair to the back of my ear.
My heart started getting wild again as butterflies filled my stomach. After a long time, I finally felt so alive and so… in love again.
And it’s because of him. It’s because of the man before me. Fated or not, I don’t think there will ever be anyone else who’ll be able to make me feel as deeply as I’m in love with him.
“Baby,” He asked hesitantly while touching my hair, "I have always been curious about a question..."
"What is it?" I replied, immersed in the happiness of him caming back.
“How on earth did you manage to defeat those Crimson Pack soldiers all by yourself that day?” he asked, “And how did you get concrete evidence that even I can’t get my hands on so easily?”
“Who on earth are you?”
My heart sank.
