Della’s POV

“Avoid it! Now! Just kick and push some of them and you can escape from Luke in no time!” Trisha kept shouting at the back of my head.

But as of this moment, all my focus fell on Kylian and on the clock above him. There’s only so little time left and I’m losing almost every hope that’s left in me.

If I left now, Kylian would definitey die. Even if he woke up at the last second, Luke would kill him.

No. I would not allow my husband to die in this way at the hands of someone like Luke!

“You have our pup! Isn’t our pup enough reason?” Trisha frustratedly asked, but I was so drowned with sorrow of losing the man I ever loved. At this moment, I was blinded and deaf from all rationality.

My time seemed to freeze and my sense of reality became blurry.

In daze, I could see a glimpse of Henry struggling from the hold of a soldier as a silver knife was pointed at him.

The silver sword in front of me seemed to brought shine as Kylian’s face reflected on it’s shiny blade.

Kylian… Of course.

“Yes! Live for him! He is still alive, remember?” Trisha shouted at me, trying to do everything to bring back my will to fight.

I’m the Lycan Princess of the Kingom. I’m the heir of the throne. I was trained from the young age to be powerful and to never back down but in face of anything related to Kylian, I always found myself bowing down.

Taking a deep breath, I pursed my lips, clenched my jaw, and fisted my hand. “P-please… I… I beg you… You want me, right? J-just let everyone go and take me instead.”

With a smirk on his filthy face, Luke said, “Just die, Della! Accept it, because there’s no way I’ll let anyone here go.”

While saying that, he was swaying his sword, shifting it from me, Henry, and Kylian’s direction.

I scoffed in disbelief. “Is this how much you want to take back your position as the alpha?”

“Oh, no, don’t get me wrong. There’s no way I’ll be the alpha. I’m not that greedy.”

I furrowed my eyebrows in utter disbelief. That’s quite contradicting in his words and actions.

He then laughed, and stood with pride. “But I sure as hell can control that new one I’ll assign. He’ll be just the perfect… puppet.”

With his back straight, hands on the sword, and arrogance overflowing his entire exsistence, he walked around me and Henry like a proud predator eyeing his preys.

Just at that time, there was a loud fight outside the door ringing. I vaguely heard Fea and Stella’s voices mixed in with the noise.

“Della!”

“Della! Are you there?”

“Are you okay?”

“Where are you?”

A huge smile formed in my lips as I heard the series of calls from very familiar voices of two badass females I knew – Fae and Stella.

Their voices mized with chaotic sounds of banging, screams, and heavy footsteps.

Fury radiated over Luke and he looked back at the men behind him. “What is happening there?”

One of the soldier shrugged his shoulder and shook his head. “I don’t know, Sir Luke.”

“Well, look outside then, moron!” he angrily screamed.

But just as his soldier were about to leave the room, a soldier who looked pretty beaten up with busted lips and deep claw marks on his arms, stumbled inside the room.

Luke’s eyes widened in shock. He grabbed the soldier’s collar and asked, “What happened?”

“Sir Luke, a bunch of people suddenly rushed in and kept attacking all of us. Many are already injured. You need to leave, Sir.” The soldier reported, panting as he tried to keep standing.

“You’re all fucking well-trained and you’re telling me your being wiped out just like that? You stupid fools!”

The soldier shook his head and defeat. “They are all wearing the uniforms of Lycan King’s personal army. They are far beyond our capabilities.”

“What?” Luke and his soldiers all looked dumbfounded upon hearing that.

I breathed a long sigh of relief, my heart hanging in my throat finally dropped, and then I glanced at Kylian next to me uneasily.

He frowned, but showed no intention of waking up.

“Really a right timing,” I thought. I didn’t know how the hell they knew what happened, but I sure hell would have a lot to thank later.

Luke looked extremely confuse. He’s probably wondering why the King and Jackson would send their own troops. Well… Damn him!

“Why you… Why will they send such many for an low-life omega like you?”

I raised an eyebrow. “Because I am on the right side.”

As stupid as he was, with the panic the commotion brought, he actually recklessly turned his back on me.

From my peripheral vision, I could see Henry discreetly shaking his head at me to signal me not to do anything. But then, he’s not the boss of me.

With swift moved, I stood up and locked Luke’s leg with mine to immobilize him before I twisted his hand and snactched the silver sword from him.

“You–”

Before he could finish his words, I moved to his back and hastily rested the edge of sword’s blade on the surface of his neck.

I could feel how fast he stopped breathing to prevent his protruding veins from pumping in his neck that could potentially scratch on the blade.

With emotions void from my eyes, I sinisterly said, “Don’t move or your blood will splatter before you can even shout.”

“You!” I called out to Luke’s soldier, including the one who’s holding Henry. “Leave this ward or I’ll surely kill him! I’m daring you!”

I’m so done with all of them. I’m tired, starving, anxious, and fucking scared for Kylian’s life. I’m so starting to reach pass what my patience sanity could handle and them being here stressing the hell out of me was further challenging it.

“Let me go, Della! Have you lost your mind?”

“Maybe I did, who knows,” I replied, followed by his deafening scream of pain and fury as I purposely shallowly cut the skin on his neck.

With gritted teeth, I spoke, “Don’t you like using silver weapons to torture Kylian? Then you are probably well aware how hard it is for werewolves to heal from silver cuts, alpha or not. So, don’t move!”

“H-how d-dare you, a mere omega, hurt me like this! You’ll face retribution!”

I scoffed and ordered in a cold dominating voice, “Shut up!”

Leaning on his ear, I whispehred, “You better pray Kylian wakes up or I’ll kill you right here becuase there’s no way I’ll let you decide who’ll be hte next alpha.”

“I see… I’m so stupid to underestimate you. You are by no means as simple omega as you seem to be!”

His voice was laced with regret and horror.

I remained silent, not caring for his thoughts. Not when my heart was pounding so hard inside my chest as if it would explode any seconds while silently praying for Kylian to wake up.

“Della” Stella came through the door with a sigh.

“Della, oh thank the moon goddess!” Fae dramatically shouted as she entered the door with relief all over her face.

Seeing my face full of anxiety, Stella and Fae shared a look before they stepped forward and took Luke away from me while the soldiers capture Luke’s men, freeing Henry in the process.

After Luke and his goons were taken away, Fae rushed toward me. She held my shoulders and circled around me. “Are you hurt anywhere?”

“No, I’m fine.”

Once making sure I didn’t have any injuries, she jumped on me and hugged me so tight before crying, “I’m so worried about you!”

Sighing, I accepted her embrace, and whispered, “Did Jackson made you come?”

Fae nodded on my shoulder, sniffing between her words. “After Jackson heard what happened, he started warming up on Kylian. After all, he saved your life and proved that he’s willing to die for you.”

I nodded. “Thank you…” I said in a low voice.

Pulling away, she stared deeply at me. “Are you sure you are okay?”

I motioned towards the clock. “There’s only five minutes left from the time limit given to us. A-and he’s still not waking up.”

With tears streaming on my cheeks, I hopelessly and pinfully said to Fae, “I might really lose him, Fae. What should I do?”

With a gloomy face, Fae patted my shoulder. “Everything will be fine. I think you need to be alone with him for a while. But I’ll be just outside if you need me.”

With that, she considerately turned around and brought Henry with her, giving me alone time with Kylian.

Wiping my tears dry, I sat back beside Kylian’s bed and leaned on his torso, hugging him as more tears dripped from my eyes, wetting the hospital shirt he was wearing.

“Please… Please… Don’t leave me….”

I kept silently praying as I listened to the tick of the clocks and his shallow slow breaths.

One… Two… Three.. I couldn’t help but keep counting the passing seconds that felt like knives individually striking me.

Suddenly… Just as the last second was about to end… I felt a gentle caress in my head.

“D-della…” Called by a husky and sore voice.
