Chapter 176

Bewildered, I looked back fast and sharp at the one who slapped me to find Luke, who was ranging with fury.
His eyebrows were furrowed together, his jaws were clenched, and his eyes were red while staring murderously at me.
He was about to take a step forward, but Henry swiftly pulled me back, standing in front of me, using himself as a shield.
With his head held high, he asked without a hint of fear, “What do you want to do to Luna?“
Luna… It's been so long since he addressed me like that without a lace of sarcasm. Suddenly, I remember Henry, who used to always have my back when things weren't as complicated as they had been.
With burning eyes, Luke looked past Henry and firmly pointed a finger at me. With gritted teeth, he exclaimed, “That bitch is the reason why my son is injured and lying there!”
He shouted so loud that his deafening voice echoed in the entire corridor that used to be so silent.
I scoffed, letting go of my swollen cheek.
I was so worried and in a daze because of Kylian's situation that my reaction time lessened, making me unable to avoid his sudden attack.
Glaring at Luke, I cursed in my mind. How dare he reprimand and curse me when he brought the Crimson Pack here? Seeing him alone made me tremble in fury.
With blazing eyes, I pushed Henry aside and glared at him as intensely as he was looking at me.
“You have no fucking right to accuse me, Luke!” I shouted, pushing his finger away from my face.
“If you hadn’t taken the security consultant of the pack and used your influence among the elders to push the Crimson pack from being the Dark Moon Pack’s supplier, none of this would have happened!”
“If you didn’t come there and act like–”
Immediately, I scoffed and interrupted him. “If I wasn’t there if I didn’t come in time, that notorious pack would have brutally murdered healthcare personnel and technicians, and their addictive drugs would have been distributed to the majority of pack members, causing huge casualties and diseases!”
Stepping forward with a heavy step and a heavy heart, I continued, “Without me, Dark Moon Pack would have faced a huge disaster.”
“You lying bitch! How dare you!” He was stepping forward, trying to attack me, but Henry stepped between us and pushed him backward.
“Please keep your distance, Sir Luke,” he respectfully said.
Luke glared at him. “Don’t meddle with this!”
“Alpha Kylian won’t like it if something happens to her.” Henry made it clear, but Luke only smirked.
Of course, who could restrict a man like him?
I, too, smirked at him and murderously stared at his arrogant face. “I have evidence for all your wrongdoings! So if I were you, I’d enjoy my last bits of freedom!”
Luke stood more upright and arrogantly replied, “Kylian is my son. He respects me more than anyone. There’s no way he’ll have me caught once he wakes up...And, if he doesn’t, there is no heir, and the Alpha position remains in my hand.”
Fury radiated over me. How dare he curse my husband like this! If Kylian didn't wake up, I would have Luke and the entire Crimson Pack buried with him!
“Not wake up?” I scoffed with tears in my eyes, “How dare you curse your son like that? I’ll never let you get away with it.”
Standing tall before him, with only an inch apart, I stared into his eyes and dominatingly said, “Mark my words. Kylian will be fine. And you! You will face your sanctions!”
“Fool! You may not be aware of this, but I’m pregnant with Kylian’s child—the rightful heir! No matter what happens, you woun’t get what you want.” I thought as I glared at him, but there was no way I’d tell him not—at least not for now.
Besides, the Crimson Pack and everyone involved in what happened earlier would be arrested for attempting to harm the Lycan Princess – me.
The security of the kingdom and legal team had already started to draw up a draft to classify the Crimson Pack as an illegal and dangerous organization. In no time, they would be wanted all over the entire land.
Narrowing eyes, the ruthless bastard Luke replied, “We’ll see.”
With that, he turned around and left. He didn’t even take a second to look at his son who was fighting for his life. He came here just to reprimand me and clarify his position, or put all the mistakes on me and let everyone forget that he was the one who brought disaster to Dark Moon! What a useless father!
I took a deep breath as I watched him walk away, but seeing the man who walked passed through him, I was beyond overjoyed.
Glint filled my eyes, hope excited my heart, and a smile formed on my lips.
Those majestic demeanor and familiar robes made it easy for me to know that it was Lucas. Finally, he arrived!
He stopped before me and slightly bowed in respect. The glint in his eyes showed me how powerful and knowledgeable he was, giving me a sense of relief as I felt that he could solve anything. Lucas came, then Kylian will be fine, right?
“Thank you for coming,” I said to him.
“It’s my pleasure.”
After waiting for a few minutes, Kylian had been transferred to the VIP ward of the hospital.
I didn’t go in, nor did I let anyone else. I didn’t want Lucas to be disturbed. As he entered the room, my heart, which had been going crazy with worry earlier, eased a bit.
Finally, I had the sense of ease of checking my phone, which was vibrating non-stop.
“Hey, how are you doing? Is everything alright? Troy told me that you’re not in a good mood. Please let me know if I can do anything. I’m worried about you.” That’s the message Albert sent me a few minutes ago.
Well, at least that’s the first one. There are about ten more in my inbox, telling me how worried he was about me and some other updates.
He also mentioned that Jackson would throw a party soon to officially introduce me and celebrate my takeover of the Wakeland.
“By then, I’ll also attend. And… I hope to have a few words with you alone, if you may.” My heart skipped a beat as I read his last message.
His tone made me aware of he might will confess his feelings to me on the party. But...but, I will never leave Kylian again.
The guess worried me, not knowing how I could face that topic with him.
I held the phone for a long while but couldn’t manage to reply. In the end, I just hid it again and stared at the close door fo the ward, waiting for Lucas to walk out.
In no time, most of the elders, other pack members, Herny, and I were already gathering outside his room, filled with worry.
Finally, Lucas came out.
“How is he?” I was the first one to ask.
Lucas put his hands behind him and looked at me respectfully before he announced to everyone. “If Alpha Kylian manages to wake up within three days, I’m positive that he’ll be just fine. But if not, then…”
“Then?” I felt anxious as I observed his sorrowful expression and his reticence to continue.
“Then… I’m sorry to say that you all have to be prepared for a funeral.”
Those words made me broke down.
“Luna…” Herny called, but I was deaf.
I cried so hard and covered my mouth, stopping myself from shouting from the immense pain radiating all over my body.
Suddenly, I felt a pat on my shoulder. Looking up, I saw that it was Lucas. He looked at me solemnly and said, “I need to talk to you.”
I froze, especially when he continued, “Alone.”
