“Fine. If it’s for the sake of Dark Moon Pack, I’d listen to what you want to say.”
The moment she replied, I couldn’t be happier. It’s like a new light shone in my dark life, which brought me uncontrollable joy.
With my paws landing on the dirt of the pack’s territory, I happily ran around the pack house to relieve the overflowing joy within me.
Once I calmed down, I ran back inside the pack house and was greeted by Henry, who was about to leave with a document in his hand.
I stopped in front of him, surprising him.
Seeing my wolf being all giddy with its tail waggling happily, he narrowed his eyes and furrowed his brows as he asked, “What happened? Why are you so happy?”
I simply stuck my tongue at him like a goofy wolf out of my happiness before ordering him via mind link, “Go and grab me a new set of clothes.”
He looked at me suspiciously for a while before he nodded hesitantly. “Wait here,” he said and placed down what he had in his hand toward the couch.
After a few minutes, he went back with a pile of clothes in his hand. “Follow me,” he said as he walked toward the bathroom.
Standing from lying on the ground, I followed him and walked inside. After placing the clothes on the small shelf, he closed and locked the door.
I shifted back into my human form with a huge smile on my lips and a spark of joy in my eyes.
“Yes!” I whispered in success.
I couldn’t believe that I was suceededly able to ask her out for dinner. Yes, it might be under the premise that we would talk about Luke, but still, it’s a time I could spend with her all alone.
After getting dressed, I found Henry leaning against the wall in front of the bathroom.
“So… what happened?” he asked after standing upright once I left the bathroom.
With a triumphant smile and pride, I replied, “Della agreed to meet me! I haven’t had dinner with her for a long time, and now she has agreed to dine with me tomorrow night!”
Actually, it wasn’t that long, as we had dinner a few days ago. But for me, it felt like a decade.
“What?” I asked when I saw Henry looking at me helplessly. His shoulders even slamped down, and he slouched while looking at me in disbelief as he shook his head.
“You’re acting like a lovesick teenager. So? Did the spread of rumor about Gianna take a play on it?” he asked, wiggling his eyebrows.
Priorly, it was Henry whom I asked to spread the rumors about a woman who looked similar to Della, who had appeared and stayed beside me. All I wanted was for her to get jealous, which would make her feel more competitive with me.
Well, that’s what I hoped for, but it’s not what happened.
I sighed and shook my head. “Nope… Definitely not that.”
“From the beginning up until now, It seemed like I had been misunderstanding Della. I first, I thought she was actively looking for evidence against Crimson Pack and Luke so she could win my heart again… But after seeing that what she’s saying was true… I guess it wasn’t really the case,” I thought, feeling dismayed.
For the past few days, Della had been refusing to see me. But now, after I told her that I wanted to talk about Luke and his involvement with Crimson Pack, she immediately agreed.
My heart both rejoiced and ached at the same time. I felt happy that its true that she cared for the pack members and worried about their safety. But it also brought me pain as I realized that it was all there was in it.
She no longer wanted to be with me. She totally gave up.
Yes, she’s an omega. But she’s a great she-wolf. And admirable one.
Although she’s weak, she does her best and shares her wisdom to protect the pack and its members.
Everyone saw her as a mere omega who was not worthy of being a Luna, as she was useless. But in my heart, no one could be more suitable in that position than she was.
Not only because she’s the woman whom I love the most, but because she deserves it and she’s more than capable of sitting in that position.
“If not because of that, why did she suddenly agree to have dinner with you?” Henry asked, confused.
Sighing heavily, I simply shook my head and tapped his shoulder. “It’s a long story. Let’s work first. I’ll join you to watch the warriors’ training.”
We went to the back lawn and found all the warriors being led by the gamma in training. They’re divided into a few groups. Some were doing duels in human and wolf form, some were doing a marathon, and others were training their strength.
Once they were done, I went back to the office. I’ve only sat down and was about to start working on some files that needed my signature when a knock sounded.
Sighing, I permitted them to enter.
A soldier came in and asked, “Alpha, what should I do with Gianna?”
I’ve ordered that she be locked up in the pack house first instead of being brought to prison, but it’s all for the show in an attempt to make Della jealous.
“What about her?” I asked.
“From the moment we locked her up in the toilet because there’s no room available for her, she already fainted several times,” the warrior reported.
My eyebrows furrowed at that. “Several times? Why?”
“She fainted after seeing bugs.”
My jaw literally dropped to the ground. As a werewolf, she was actually stunned by a bug. Even if such a thing happened to an omega, it would be ridiculous enough.
The warrior looked at me cautiously before asking, “So… maybe we can move her somewhere cleaner?”
I raised my arm and massaged my temple. Hearing that woman’s name was more than enough to cause me a headache and make my blood boil.
With a motion of my hand, I ordered, “Bring her in.”
Reminiscing earlier, she obviously didn’t do anything to explain instead, she made things worse. All her hesitation to explain and all her cries only made Della even angrier after she misunderstood that I was doing something inappropriate with Gianna. Hence, I couldn’t help but find the entire event earlier suspicious.
I took a deep breath as I remembered that it was similar to the “coincidental” accidents that occasionally occurred in the pack when Flora was still around.
Whenever something happened, she’d always resort to excessive crying, just like what Gianna did.
She’d do the same, acting like she’s the victim when she’s the one who made the mistake. Because of all her pretense, everyone pointed a finger at Della and blamed her for it.
And even when Della tries to defend herself in anger, everyone is already manipulated by Flora’s acting, such that they don’t believe her and only listen to Flora.
“How helpless and in pain must she have been then?” I asked myself in guilt.
If I hadn’t experienced it firsthand today, I wouldn’t understand it as much as I do right now.
Like her, I was finally able to experience being helpless.
“I’m so sorry, Della…” I whispered, though I knew that she wouldn’t be able to hear it.
Moments later, the door opened, and Gianna entered with red eyes and dry tears on her cheeks.
