Chapter 124

Della’s POV

I wasn’t able to eat enough during my dinner with Kylian that I didn’t even feel half-full.

Hence, as soon as I got home, I felt the exhaustion and starvation fill me. Opening the door, I was greeted by Diana. “Ms. Della, you’re back early. How’s the dinner?”

Looking at her with a frown, I went straight to remove my heels and leave it lazily at the side before I threw myself in at the bed.

“Oh… seems bad,” she concluded.

With a pout, I asked, “Can you serve me food?” I held my tummy, and added dramatically, “We’re starving.”

As tired and angry as I was, I needed to eat for me and my pup.

Her eyes widened when she saw me holding my tummy. In panic, she hurriedly said, “Right away!”

“Didn’t you go out with Alpha Kylian? Did he not give you enough food?” She started venting while serving plates and dishes at the table.

Seeing that, I stood up and went to sit.

Scoffing, I uttered, “He’s a narcissist! Agh! I hate him!”

“What happened?” she asked with caution, seeing my anger.

“Here, this will help ease you out,” she added as she served me with soup for appetizer, and gave me a spoon.

Taking it, I took a few sips, and instantly felt a wave of warmth in me. I felt relaxed.

Once a bit satisfied, I slammed my spoon down to the table which made the other dishes move a bit, but it was beyond my care anymore.

Looking at Diana with frustration, I furrowed my eyebrows and exasperatedly stared at him. “Can you believe it? That narcissistic, self-righteous Alpha Kylian! He actually thought that I was targeting Luke for his sake! He thinks I want to be with him again! The fucking nerve he got!”

Diana’s mouth hangs open in shock. See? Even her found it ridiculous!

She grabbed the preacher and started pouring milk in my glass. “Here, drink and calm a bit first. No stress for the baby.”

When I started drinking, she suddenly crossed her arms over her shoulder and complained, “How can he say that? He’s stupid! It’s so obvious that you are doing it for the pack! He sure thinks strangely, how can he think otherwise?”

I admit though, Luke was the biggest obstacle between us. However, all that I did at the voting was never for our relationship but all for the pack. And it’s insulting how he would think otherwise.

Drinking all the milk, I wiped my lips from the residue, and grabbed the fork and knife for the beef barbeque. While cutting, I vented out, “Of course, he will think like that! He won’t even need to speak for me to know how much he looks down on me as an omega! Is it so hard to think that I’ll do something so noble as to make a huge effort for the sake of the pack’s sake because of my humble status? Agh!”

That shithead wasn’t only self-righteous but also stereotyped me! How could I be so blind as to fall head over heels for him?

Stuffing my mouth with meat and swallowing in, I dropped my utensils at the table, stood up, and looked at Diana with determination. “I can’t stand that self-righteous man anymore! Mark my words!” I pointed at Diana. “I will definitely divorce him! I’ll probably end up doing the same even if there’s no Luke in the way!”

“Now, now, calm down first.” She  laughed a bit.

Okay, fine. I might be being too emotional right now. But who could blame me? I’m pregnant, exhausted, starving, and furious!

She placed my food in front of me again and gave me back my utensils. “Don’t be angry now. And eat while you’re at it. You and your pup need it.”

She reminded me so I could only sigh and do as she advised. My pup was indeed my weakness. I’d do everything for my upbringing.

We were making small talk as I ate, and Diana succeeded in making me calm and laugh every once in a while by her jokes or some silly side comments.

I was on my last piece when my phone rang. Munching on it, I grabbed my phone from my pocket and saw Fae’s name on the screen.

Swallowing, I answered the call, and pointed at it to show Diana that I’ll get the call first.

She nodded, and mouthed, “I’ll clean this up.”

Standing, I sat on the bed and leaned on the headboard, “Hey.”

“Hey, how are you?”

“Fine now. Why did you call?” I replied, not intending to revisit my anger earlier which I was just able to calm down from.

“I got some news!” she shouted.

I sighed. “With how you sounded, it’s more like gossip than actual news.”

“No, really. I heard that Flora is missing.”

Flora… again.

“I don’t care about her anymore. She can be on another planet for all I care,” I commented lazily. It’s the truth though. I’m moving forward. Caring about her right now was the least of my priorities.

“No, it’s not as simple as that!” From the urgency in her tone, it sounded serious. I sat up properly, and fixed my hair. That got my attention.

Curiously, I asked, “How’s that?”

“Someone told me that Flora was imprisoned in the basement by Luna Lauren, but ever since that official announcement from Dark Moon Pack that she was vanished, no one has seen her since!  What’s worse, the omegas and warriors always hear a series of screams and cries whenever they round up near that place!”

“Fae… how come you sounded more excited not worried? Your news is horrible,” I pointed out.

“Well it's gossip! And why should I care, it’s Flora we're talking about.”

I shook my head. “But why did that happen?”

“Because she’s a slut!  She seduced Luna Lauren’s mate. I knew she wasn’t up to any good. Her mistake is, she crossed without someone as dominant and heartless as Luna Lauren. I wonder what kind of punishment Luna Lauren made her go through to scream and cry everyday like that.”

By how it sounds, it seemed like Luna Lauren was power tripping for revenge.

“Luna Lauren can’t do that though,” I voiced out.

After a while, Fae asked, “Why? I’m sure she deserved to be punished after what she did.”

“No, we have laws. Seduction of mates isn't punishable by any other forms but plain imprisonment or deportation. No physical or other form of punishment should be given.”

Though I hate Flora and no longer care about her existence, law remained as law. If we broke it because of anger, then the world we were in would only get worse day by day.

“Wow…” I heard admiration in her voice together with a few claps. “I’m so proud of you! You know the kingdom’s law so well.”

I laughed, “Come on, Fae. I was raised as an heir, remember?’

“Yes, yes, how can I forget.” She laughed as well, agreeing. “Well, my dear Princess, guess what good news I have for you?”

“Please, stop it! The way you call me princess gives me goosebumps! Just tell me what is it?”

Fae let out a mysterious laugh and said, “Jackson has agreed to let Ralph visit Dark Moon.”
