Chapter 122

I looked at Kylian in front of me, waiting for his answer.
I could see how his eyes waver and his eyebrows furrowed with confusion. He stared deeply at the glass in his hands, tapped his fingertips on the table.
Every time he lost in his thoughts, he would make some unconscious little movements, and I remembered them.
"Della..."
He tilted his head and looked at me deeply.
The light scattered by the chandelier gave him a soft halo. I couldn't help but my heart beat a little faster.
Kylian was hot, especially when he was serious.
He shook his head in hesitation and finally spoke, “Luke won't do anything to harm the Dark Moon.”
The way he said it, it seemed like he really had that deep faith that Luke won't do such a thing.
His deep voice shattered my expectations. It seemed that he had never linked Luke and the word ‘betray' together.
"What?"
I find it nothing but funny. "There is so much evidence that the Crimson Pack is an evil criminal pack. I have shown to you and every pack members. But Luke still recommended and chose them. It is abnormal, isn't it?"
According to our pack law, the recommendation could be withdrew before voting.
In other words, as long as Luke canceled the recommendation of the Crimson Pack in time, its candidate qualification can be revoked.
But he didn't.
The most likely explanation was that he had reached an agreement with the Crimson Pack before.
Kylian tightened his hold on the fork and clenched his jaw. “That Crimson Pack must have fooled him into doing that.”
I let out a sneer. Once again, I was disappointed in him.
"Kylian, I don't believe you can't see that this is abnormal. You're an Alpha!"
I took a deep breath and tried to keep my tone as calm as possible. "Or, you know everything about Luke's plan, but still choose to turn a blind eye?"
Kylian fell silent for a few minutes before speaking.
"Della, I know you and Luke had some misunderstandings before, but I know him better than you do. He may not be a good father, but he is definitely a good alpha.”
"Misunderstanding?” I scoffed, “Kylian. Do you know what you are talking about?"
I was so angry and disappointed that I gasped slightly, and my chest rose and fell. But I continued.
"As long as Luke has any conscience, he would never let the Crimson Pack be elected. But Luke..."
"That's enough! Della!" Kylian interrupted me.
"I know that my father always targets you which always made you unhappy. And I truly understand why you tried so hard to kick him out of Dark Moon. Anyone would if they are in your situation. "
He paused and continued in a softer tone, "But Della, Luke is my father and I knew he was an excellent alpha. He shouldn’t be treated like this."
I was stunned, not even knowing what he wanted to say.
Did the feud between me and Luke have anything to do with this thing?
Did Kylian think I was deliberately trying to embarrass Luke?
Suddenly, Kylian grabbed my hand. His tone was even gentler than I have ever heard before Flora appeared in our marriage.
"Della, I-I'm so happy. I thought you had given up on our relationship. It wasn't until you spent so much effort in the past few days to banish Luke, did I understood your true intention. You wanted to remove the only obstacle between us and you don't want to leave me. Right?”
The joy in his voice surprised me. “W-wait-”
But he stepped closer and held both my shoulders. "I can't do this to my father, Della. But I swear that I will persuade Luke to get along well with you, and I will protect you at all cost. You’ll have my words."
I scoffed in utter disbelief as my eyes went wide. I was beyond dumbfounded upon realizing where he was coming from. "You...You don't think I did this just to stay by your side, do you?"
I admitted that Luke was definitely a huge obstacle between Kylian and me.
But I dealt with Luke now just because of the crime he committed! Because of our puppies and members.
As their princess, I couldn’t just watch the innocent puppies suffer from the abuse of the Crimson Pack.
But why did all my efforts turn into a love trick to win him back in Kylian's eyes?
It’s...it’s ridiculous. He must be crazy...
Suddenly, an uncomfortable feeling surged in me.
It’s obvious that Kylian had never thought highly of me. In his mind, I was just an lowly omega, who would never do anything for something big like the future of pack.
He thought I was doing this just for a man, for vain love.
How pathetic.
Ignoring my expression, Kylian looked at me sincerely, lowered his head and kissed the back of my hand.
"Admit it, Della, even if you try hard to hide your true intentions, I still see your love."
I was too shocked that I couldn't speak a word.
Kylian looked up at me with intense eyes and a smile on his lips. "Are you scared? Because I saw through you? Della, don't feel embarrassed. I know you are a very self-respecting omega, so you use this method to restore the relationship between us..."
"Stop!" I can hardly hold on any longer. "I'm so done with you, Kylian. Go to hell with your guess."
“What? No, Della, wait!”
With that, I sneered, grabbed my purse, and left with a scowl. I could hear his hurried footsteps, trying to follow me but I heard one of the personnel, speaking, “Sir, we apologize, but you haven't paid the bill yet.”
Good thing that he was stopped, so I had a head start. I immediately went out and hailed a cab, going back to that shack like home of mine.
