Chapter 103

Della’s POV

“What happened?” I asked, frozen on my feet, shocked at how she was looking right now.

“Ms. Della…” she said, almost whispering. She looked so weak, and she was wobbling. Two bags of groceries were hanging on her right arm while she had her other arm supporting the bottoms of the bags.

She tried walking, taking steps one after another, but she only zigzagged. Finally, her weight went all over her right side, and she started falling to the ground.

Instead of using her arm to support herself and prevent herself from falling with her face first on the floor, she turned her body around mid-air and tightly wrapped her arms around those plastic bags, having her back fall with a loud thud on the floor.

My eyes widened. My hands were extended toward her direction as I tried to catch her before she fell, but everything happened so fast that I didn’t make it in time.

“Diana!” I shouted with immense worry and ran to her side.

She carefully placed the bags of groceries beside her before trying to stand, but she was so weak that she could only lay back down on the dirty, cold floor.

Kneeling beside her, I inspect her for any injuries caused by the fall. “Are you okay?”

She weakly nodded her head.

Tears almost welled up in my eyes. I was about to check if her fall caused her any harm, but upon closer look, I think that should be the least of my worries.

Dianna was pretty beaten up. Her clothes had many torn, and despite being a werewolf, she still had many visible injuries on her body, such as claw marks and bruises.

With pursed lips, I sternly asked, “Who did it?”

I placed my arm underneath her shoulder and helped her to sit. She shook her head, “No one, Ms. Della. I accidentally fell earlier. I’m sorry to worry you.”

Narrowing my eyes on her, I said, “Do I seem like a fool to you?”

Her eyes widened, and she shook her head frantically.

“Then what made you think that I’ll buy that lame excuse?” I asked, frowning. She sighed and looked down, feeling guilty.

“Come on, let’s get you to the chair first.” I held her arms and helped her.

Once I held her up, she held my wrist and whispered, “The grocery…”

I looked at her with disbelief. “Look at yourself. Can’t you worry about yourself first?”

“But… you need those. I get those for you. It’s good for you and your pup’s nourishment.”

I helped her sit on the chair and looked at her with a sigh. I was moved by that, and I didn’t know how to react.

Since we were thrown into this house, Diana and I never went to the canteen anymore, nor did we expect any omega to send food to us.

Diana would usually go to the market to buy what we needed.

She was taking care of me so well, always thinking for my sake. And now… she was suffering because of me. If she had only chosen to stay in the kingdom, then she’d have a better life and a better future.

What’s more, Nancy was assigned to the kitchen, which angered me even more. Not only was she not punished, but she was also assigned to a post most omegas would want to be in. The kitchen staffs ate much better than those other omegas in the pack.

Seeing the dismay in Diana’s eyes, I sighed, turned around, and went to pick up the bags of groceries she had bought.

After placing it on the table, I put my hands on my waist, placed my weight on my left leg, and asked Diana sternly, “Now, tell me what happened. It’s my command as your princess.”

I knew she wouldn’t want to worry me, which was why she was trying to keep quiet. But if I gave a command, she would be forced to reply.

“It’s Nancy, isn’t it?” I asked, pushing the topic.

She nodded.

“Tell me everything.”

She looked up at me. “I just came from the market and am about to go back when Nancy and her friends blocked my path. You and your pup need to take your meals in time, so I went on and just wanted to take a detour.”

I nodded, encouraging her to continue.

“She probably thought I was ignoring her and looking down on her, which annoyed her even more. So… she called more friends of hers, and they started…”

“Started to what?” I knew what they did, but somehow, I wanted to hear it from her.

Taking a deep breath, she finished, “They started beating me.”

“Those bitches!” I couldn’t help but curse. How dare they do that to my people? I could never forgive them for that.

I stood up, ready to leave and teach those unforgiving werewolves, when Nancy held my wrist in haste. “Please, Ms. Della. No need. I’m just an omega, myself. You don’t need to take risks for my sake. Especially now that you have your pup to take care of.”

I started at her. “I am the Lycan princess, the heir of the Werewolf kingdom, the leader of the Wakeland, and your master.”

“Diana, if I can’t even protect those who are important to me, then I don’t deserve to be a princess.”

“But…” she started to retort.

“I know what I went through while in here. But know this, Diana. I endured all their insults because I didn’t want any trouble. As a Lycan princess, it’s in me to show generosity and tolerance. I’ve been taught that way at an early age. But that doesn’t mean that I will let anyone suffer the same treatment because of me.” I looked deep into her eyes.

Then, I continued, “The sacrifices I made before were out of my love for Kylian, and it’s the consequence of my foolishness before. But I’m far from weak, Diana. I didn’t fight back not because I can’t, but because I didn’t want to.”

The same goes for what happened between Luke and me. I’ve let many things pass over the years, but hurting those innocent people who were at my side was something I couldn’t and would never overlook.

I stood upright. “You deserve justice for what they did.”

Diana started crying, and she tried to wipe her tears with her hand, but more tears just kept streaming down her face. “But there are dozen of them. Even a strong werewolf can’t deal with them alone. I… I know that you are a Lycan, but you are pregnant, and it may have caused you some changes… It’ll be too dangerous.”

I stared at Diana, grabbed her hand and gave it a light squeeze. “Just believe me.”

Then, I dragged her out of the house.

A dozen of omega? I could handle more than that! I just need to be a bit cautious for my pup, but that wouldn’t hinder me from teaching them a lesson.
