Chapter 102

Della’s POV

The next morning, as soon as I woke up, I still kept hearing my phone vibrating on the bedside table.

I sleepily sat up on the bed and took my phone. After combing my messy hair with my fingers and adjusting my eyes from the sunlight, I unlocked my phone and looked through the notification.

It was still about Flora. The news about her was spreading like wildfire, and people were commenting nonstop.

Leaning on the headboard with my legs spread to the bed, I scrolled through the comment section to see various comments from the members of the Moon Howlers Pack. There were a flood of comments from them, but there were three which significantly took my attention.

“Our Luna treated her with great kindness, but that bitch paid her kindness with betrayal! She seduced our Alpha! Fucking slut!”

What? I thought she loved Kylian so much. How could she possibly do that? It made me wonder if it was true.

“That bitch has work in the Alpha office, but she didn’t come today, and she’s nowhere to be found even when we called and looked for her. Something must have happened to her or she’s probably being hidden by the Alpha for protection.”

“Tsk! That’s right! She’s a whore! I’m her lover and saved her from the border, and still, she went and seduced our Alpha. She’s just a whore and a certified betrayer! She’s a user!”

My mouth hung open due to shock. I couldn’t believe that she’d stomp that low.

I knew that she could be despicable and all, but whoring around was just too much! How could she resort to that?

I swiped down to the notification and read the official announcement from the Dark Moon Pack about Flora’s banishment.

Now I understood why he suddenly did it when it had been so long since Flora was kicked out. It seemed like a political move to save the Dark Moon Pack from the mess Flora had placed herself into.

My heart skipped a beat. Was he doing these things for me?

But the next second, I laughed bitterly. “You fool, how could you still have hope in him?”

It was obvious that he did it because he finally saw her true nature. He learned that she was indeed a slut and a fake. What happened to Flora at the Moon Howlers Pack was, without a doubt, eye-opening for him.

His ego was also probably hurt as betrayal sunk into him.

Anyway, it’s great that everything has become clear now.

Sighing, I closed the post regarding Flora and checked my other notifications.

Seeing that I had an email, I opened my mailbox and saw a message from Albert. “Hey, Della. How’s everything going? As usual, I’m doing great. Better even.”

Attached to his email were various pictures of him and the Wakeland.

For the past few days, he seemingly found a new habit of sending me emails or messages with pictures on them. He was always keeping me updated about his situation and asking about my well-being.

The content of the messages was all casual, but it made me feel warmth inside, knowing that someone was thinking about me.

A smile subconsciously formed on my lips as I sighed with relief.

I couldn't be happier to have a comrade and friend like Albert. He’s a reliable and responsible friend I knew I could always rely on besides Fae. Because of his diligence and perseverance, I was able to take some time for myself.

I’ll always be very thankful to him.

Just as I was about to reply, my phone rang, and Fae’s name flashed on my screen. Without wasting time, I answered it.

“Della! How are you? Is everything good? Any news?” she asked one after another, always as chirpy as I knew her for.

Instantly in a good mood, I replied, “Yeah, everything’s fine.”

“Fine as in?” she pushed further.

Sighing, I replied, “Fine, as in everything is either good or bad.”

As I said those words, I couldn’t help but thought of what happened yesterday. In fact, after Kylian left, he never appeared before me again, but Diana and I had seen him lurking around the house. He would sneak a peek and such every now and then.

Diana and I decided that it would be better to just let him be and act as though we weren’t seeing him.

I already decided that I’ll divorce him, and there’s no going back this time. It’s for the best. I’ll do it for me and for my pup. I don’t want anything to do with him anymore.

“Fine, I’ll let it be as you said it is. Anyway, have you seen the news?”

Great! She’s in full gossip mode now.

“If you meant Flora’s issue, then yes. It’s spreading like wildfire. There’s no way I won’t know about it.”

Fae scoffed. “I couldn’t believe Flora’s nerve! She actually went too far. I think I even underestimated how bad she could go.”

I rolled my eyes. “She’s just proving further how unfit she was to be a Luna.”

“Yes! That’s what I thought, too!” Fae shouted, and I had to pull my phone away a bit. Then, she continued, “By the way, did Albert message you lately?”

Subconsciously, I nodded despite knowing she wouldn’t be able to see me. “Yes, he’s been sending me messages or emails.”

After a moment of silence, Fae finally spoke with hesitation, “Maybe you should visit the Wakeland and see him? I think he’s hiding something. I mean, he’s dealing with notorious rogues! They're known for being rampant. He couldn’t possibly solve it all that fast. It’s way too questionable. Don’t you think?”

What she said made sense, but I knew Albert’s ability, so I merely laughed it off. “Oh, come on, I think you’re overthinking it. I have faith in Albert’s capability. He’s an alpha heir and a powerful one at that. If he’s really hiding something, I think it’s something trivial. I’ll just wait for him to tell me that himself.”

I heard her move a bit but said no words. Then, she whispered, “You know… he’s a great man, right? He’s so good to you. You should consider him. And not as a friend, but as a man.”

“Have you forgotten? I’ll meet my fated mate soon. If I’ll fall in love again, it will be to my fated mate and no one else.” Clearing my throat, I changed the subject, “Anyway, how’s things going with you and my brother, huh?”

I teased her. Immediately, I heard a few giggles of excitement from her side.

“Oh, shut it! It’s going good, but it’s not how you think!”

“Uh-huh! Come on, spill some tea, would you!” I pushed. It’s only fair I learn something from her when she already knows almost everything about me.

“Fine! I think I’m melting his heart now! Just a bit more persuasion and he’ll surely be mine!” she said with determination, making me laugh.

“Now, don’t be too full of yourself. It will hurt more if you expect too much.”

“Just let me enjoy it! I am strong enough to do so, you know.”

“Of course, I know.”

Unlike me, Fae was a born badass. I knew she could handle herself just fine.

Fae and I talked more and were laughing when a knock on the door came in. Diana peeked in, and with my signal, she went in.

She had a frown on her lips and was carrying bags of groceries, but what caught my eye was her current condition.

I immediately stood up in shock. “I’ll talk to you later. I need to go,” I urgently said to Fae and ended the call.

I surveyed her body from head to toe, and my heart ached.

Her clothes were tore and there were scars all over her body!

“What happened, Diana?” I asked.
