Chapter 92

Kylian’s POV

When Della saw Stella and I holding hands together and ran away, I knew that there was another huge misunderstanding between us.

And it all started when Stella came back from Lock Heart Pack.

Earlier this day, I stood in front of the mirror, fixing my clothes. I had on a white fitted shirt under my midnight blue suit coat, making it look more like a smart casual.

This time, I had to be on long sleeves, so I could hide those scratches and wounds on my arms, chest, and back from everyone’s view.

Though I looked the same, and my face seemed unscarred, it was far different from the reality. I let out a small bitter laugh while I looked at myself from the mirror.

Since the day that my father came to my office about my divorce with Della, which I highly rejected from doing, he had kept torturing and punishing me every now and then. He was determined to “teach me a lesson” until I subdue him and do as he said.

The thing was, above all his demands, leaving Della was the one thing I couldn’t force myself to do.

A knock on my door came, and Henry came in. “Alpha Kylian, the banquet is about to start.”

I nodded. “I’ll be there.”

With that, Henry left to check the perimeter again.

My father would only stop torturing me on days like this. On the day that he needed the pack’s “Alpha” to show up to the public and make things that would benefit the pack.

It was all business. Everything was for him and the pack’s interest, and never for my own sake.

Just as I came out of my room and on the top of the stairs, I could already vaguely see Stella sitting in the dining area with my father.

Since Stella has already came back, today’s event was a banquet held to welcome her, and the same time, strengthen the friendship between Dark Moon Pack and Lock Heart Pack.

“Good day,” I casually greeted as soon as I came down, and sat next to my father. I showed no expression and did not bow, which made me hear a cold snort from my father when I sat down.

He gave me a side glance glare as I didn’t sit next to Stella, which he clearly preferred. But I acted like I was oblivious to that.

“Alpha Kylian,” she greeted back, and I nodded.

There were other members in here. It wasn’t a big event, but some important figures of each pack’s member were present but they were on different tables set alongside ours.

My father snapped his fingers, and immediately, many omegas came in sight to set the dishes on the table.

“Wow, this all seemed delicious! I’ll definitely enjoy it!” she exclaimed, making my father laugh.

When he saw that I remained nonchalant, he stepped on my foot under the table. Hence, with a force and diplomatic manner, I laughed as well and tried to act all happy with them. That went on and on like an eternity. Then, under his hint and coercion, I showed my concern about Stella’s life after she returned to Lock Heart and her father .

We were in the middle of small talks when my father suddenly grabbed my hand and Stella’s. He held it both and put my hand on Stella’s, making us hold hands.

He tapped on top of it, and said, “The Dark Moon pack and Lock Heart Pack’s friendship shall last forever.”

I gave a side glance at my father, feeling strange. Why would he suddenly do such a thing? Nonetheless, I didn’t question him and just let him be with his game.

Suddenly, Stella, who was facing the door, widened her eyes in surprise. Then, she called out enthusiastically, “Della! You’re here! Come here.”

Surprise as well, I pulled my hand so fast as if I had been burnt.

I turned around and saw Della’s expression. My eyes went back and forth from her and my father. Now, I realized what just happened.

My father deliberately did that to make Della misunderstand the situation, and I think he had succeeded in it.

Damn it!

Immediately, I stood up. I wanted to rush and chase after Della and explain to her what really happened, but I was stopped by my father’s voice.

“Kylian…” he called out in a threatening tone.

I momentarily froze at my feet, and closed my eyes in annoyance.

That’s it! I’m done with this shit!

I don't want to pretend anymore. I'm not a good son, not a good Alpha, so what? I do not care anymore!

All my life he had been controlling everything about me, but that had to change.

I turned around, and faced him with a murderous glare. “Enough is enough!”

Shock and agitated by my outburst, he stood up and slammed his hands on the table. “Bulltshit! Sit back on your chair and stop making a scene, Kylian! Don’t be a fucking child, forgetting your alpha duties for the sake of a mere omega whore!”

That totally got on my nerves. He’s really a selfish bastard.

No longer caring that there were important figures in here with the Lock Heart Pack, I stood my ground for the first time.

“That’s enough, father! Della had endured enough for a lifetime! As her chosen mate, I need to protect her and be the alpha she deserves!” This time, I finally exploded. He was getting too far.

He shook his head with threat in his eyes, making me stop. But I was now beyond stopping.

I looked him dead in the eye, and added, “I regretted making her suffer so much before. I won’t let it happen again. And not even you can stop me.”

After that, I turned and ran after Della.

As I got out of the door, I looked around but saw no trace of her. Just as I was about to go to the lawn, I saw Henry bending over the grass bed to pick something up.

My eyebrows furrowed at that. Curious, I walked toward him to ask what it was when he immediately stood upright and hid something on his back. It looked like a small plastic stick.

Now, that’s even more strange.

I raised an eyebrow in confusion, and asked, “What is it?”

He shrugged, kept hiding it, and said, “Oh, nothing.”

As confused and curious as I was, it wasn’t the important thing right now.

“Where is Della going? Why didn’t you stop her?!” I asked while looking around to see her presence. I need to explain to Della. There is nothing between me and Stella! The handshake is just for the friendship between packs.

Ignoring my anxiety, he looked at me for a while, and replied flatly, “She left in a panic. I didn’t have the time to stop her…”

I sighed heavily at that.

Great! Another misunderstanding I had to fix.

“Where did she go?” I asked, but when I didn’t get an answer, I started to run but Henry held onto my arm to stop me.

I looked at him. “I need to chase her, Henry.”

He didn’t let go, and reported, “I have something to report.”

“Can’t it wait?”

“It’s about Ms. Flora, Alpha Kylian,” he continued which made me furious. Just hearing the name of the woman that first ruined my relationship with Della made my blood boil.

“Flora had been expelled from the pack already! There’s no need to give reports about her,” I said to him, and pushed his hand away that was holding me.

I was about to continue running when he added, “What if this is related to the Dark Moon Pack’s security and the Moon Howler’s pack?”
