Chapter 91

My eyes widened as I stared at the woman in front of me.
I scanned her body from head to toe, and considering that she was only wearing a crop top and panty shorts, she’s almost naked in my eyes.
There weren’t any signs of torture in her skin, nor weakness in her posture. In fact, she looked perfectly healthy, as if she had been on vacation instead of in a prison cell, paying for what she had done.
My jaw clenched in anger, my lips pursed into thin lines, and my claws digged onto my clenched palm.
‘After what she had done to Albert, she wasn’t even punished? Not a slightest bit?’ My chest was violently rising and falling as I tried my hardest to keep calm at this new found revelation.
At this moment, I even started to have the urge to cry.
Flashbacks of what Albert had gone through because of her, came rushing in my mind. For goodness sake! He almost died!
He almost died, and yet the culprit was still standing in front of me with a smirk on her face after throwing a bucket of dirty water on where I stayed.
I swallowed the knot in my throat, and kept rational.
Damn! I want to tear that freaking smirk out of her fucking face!
I raised an eyebrow, and said in my coldest yet calmest voice, “Aint you lucky?”
“If you were in another pack, you would be torn into pieces or be showered with thousands of silver whips.”
Despite trying to control my anger, I wasn’t able to stop a low growl at the end of my words.
My wolf was as furious as I was.
Seeing that I was gritting with anger, Nancy rejoiced.
She stood up properly and smiled brightly like she had won a game.
Nancy took a step forward, and made a little twirl like a mad woman. Signaling to her entire body, she smugly said, “See this? See every part of me? It’s the biggest proof that Alpha Kylian doesn’t care about you. Not even in the slightest bit!”
She then laughed loudly, and even let out a single clap.
When I didn’t say a word, she took it as a sign to go on.
She took a closer step and played with her hair, acting like she’s a damn supermodel.
Nancy blinked her eyes a couple of times, pouted her lips, and said in a pitiful voice, “It’s so easy, you know? I just acted pitiful in front of him…”
She then slid her hand from her legs up to her hips, waist, and then boobs. She continued, “And showed off my figure and charm… And then, he let me go.”
I stared at her as a knot formed on my throat, and an invisible hand clenched my heart with sadness.
For some reason, I felt like she wasn’t lying. A part of me thinks that Kylian might have really done as she said.
Based on my understanding of Kylian, he’s someone who could never refuse those kinds of women who try to act pitiful and weak.
He easily gets swayed, which was one of the reasons why Kylian and Luke would end up in a fight.
Kylian was swayed with emotion while Luke was heartless.
I mentally smirked bitterly.
I knew for sure. How could I not? It was the same tactic Flora used to lure him before.
Flora used to portray that fake sweet, delicate, naive, and pitiful persona whenever she’s in front of Kylian. What was worse was that she’ll use that persona of hers not only to uplift her image in his eyes, but also ruin me.
There was a time when she deliberately bumped into me while holding a glass of water, making its content wet her thin white shirt and causing the glass to break and scatter on the floor.
And guess what? Kylian just happened to be a few feet away from us when it happened.
What he witnessed was Flora falling on her knees from the impact of so-called bumping, her thin white shirt was now wet which exposed her skin to other male wolves, and there was a small wound from the shard that fell in her feet.
It was all one perfect timing of acting!
Kylian saw it and from the angle he was on, it looked like I deliberately tripped Flora.
‘No, don’t blame her. I’m fine, really!’ Flora said in a low pitiful voice all while she was using her arms to hide her body that was now visible after her shirt became wet.
‘Fine? Look at you!’ Kylian took his shirt off without second thoughts and put it on her. Ain’t he sweet?
After that, he helped her stand and carried her because of a mere scratch on her foot that was now probably already healed.
He looked at me with sharp eyes, and blamed, ‘Look where you’re going! I don’t want this to happen again.’
And the funny thing about that moment was that I had a huge shard that got stuck to my shin, but he wasn't even able to notice it.
Fucking fate!
Remembering all those days and by everything that’s happening right now, I couldn’t help but mentally curse.
Flora used such a method, but then again she was his fated mate. Meanwhile, Nancy was an omega he rarely encountered, and yet she still dared to do it and Kylian bought it.
That reality made me sarcastically laugh.
Maybe Nancy was right. Maybe Kylian just didn’t care about me enough to care about the things and the person I care about. In his eyes, someone like Nancy might even be worth more of his mercy.
Nancy took a step inside the house and looked around the palace with disgust. She raised one of her hands and slid her index finger on the table. When she looked at her fingertip, it was black from dust.
She laughed. “It seemed like you’re being punished by living in this place.”
Taking a step closer to me with a smirk on her face, she continued, “This only proved that you had lost all your privilege from being Luna. No one’s here to protect you now, Della!”
She glanced at the ingredients Diana had bought, and a glint of menace flashed in her eyes. “By the way, I’m stationed at the kitchen now. Just so you know, I’ll never give you anything edible. I’ll use all my authority to torture you and have my revenge until I’m satisfied.”
Her tone increased in high pitch and murderous voice.
And for some stupid reason, every word she was saying seemed to have an effect on me. It was like different sharpened knives were being struck to my heart.
I couldn't help but feel lost and sad at everything. Her unharmed self came to me as a slap in the face about my real position in Kylian’s heart. And that just made me powerless enough to argue back at her.
But at my lowest point, someone fought back for me.
When Nancy was focused on me and when she least expected it, Diana poured a basin of water on Nancy.
Exasperated and shocked, Nancy turned around to see Diana who was fuming mad.
Nancy jumped on her feet and disgustedly wiped out as much dirty water as she could from her body. Seeing how futile it all was, she stopped and murderously glared at Diana who had a smirk on her face while the empty basin was on her hip with her hand on it.
“You stupid, stupid, stupid bit–”
“Leave this once or I’ll be the one to make you regret you didn’t get your punishment from your own pack!” Diana interjected and threatened as she pointed at the door.
Diana immediately grabbed the dirty towel she was using to wipe the floor earlier, took a threatening step toward Nancy, and attempted to wipe it on her face when Nancy let out a high pitched shout and ran out of the door.
With a victorious smile, Diana shut the door closed.
“Now, that’s how pests should be treated,” she said with a proud smile, encouraging me to smile.
But all I could give her was a small bitter one.
Seeing my expression, she hastily cleaned the chair and made me sit on it. “Why didn’t you fight back on her? Everything she said is bullshit!”
I lifelessly shook my head with my eyes low. “I know Kylian enough to know that she was probably telling the truth.”
This time, a tear dropped from the corner of my eyes followed by another until I cried. “Kylian never cared about my feelings…”
Realizing how crazy and stupid I must look right now, I immediately wiped my cheeks dry off tears and sniffed. “Sorry, pregnant women tend to be emotional.”
Diana sadly looked at me and wiped her hands on her apron before she came closer and engulfed me in a tight and warm embrace. “What do you plan to do now? And in the future?”
I whispered, “I don’t know either… But I have to keep the fact that I’m pregnant at all costs.”
With a tone filled with determination, Diano swore, “I’ll protect you no matter what.”
Then she let go from the embrace and sincerely looked at me. With a small smile, she said, “You are a princess. And princesses don't deal with worthless scoundrels like them. Whereas I lived as an omega for as long as I could remember, I’m mastered at dealing with trash like Nancy. Leave it to me.”
It was nice knowing someone would always be there for you, and had your back.
I nodded at her and smiled. This time, a genuine one.
Diana clapped her hand to liven up the mood. “Now, let’s eat!”
After Diana cooked, we ate, cleaned the entire house, and went to get ready for bed.
Just as before I tucked myself in, my phone pinged.
I grabbed it from the bedside table and saw a message from Stella. “I want to meet you.”
My heart sank. I already knew what she wanted to talk about. Not wanting more stress, I sighed, and typed a reply, “We have nothing more to talk about. Don’t worry, I’ll get a divorce soon.”
After that, I blocked her number and went on to lay on the bed.
Just before I drifted to my slumber, I couldn't help the image of the positive pregnancy test that I kicked into the flower bed replayed in my mind. Worry once again came into me.
“No! No one picked it up…” I said positively before falling into sleep.
