Chapter 90

Della’s POV

“U-uh… It’s nothing important. Don’t worry about it,” I said and waved my hand to prove my point. However, I couldn't help but let out a nervous laugh, which I deeply hope he didn’t get on.

Would he look into it? What if he found the pregnancy stick?

If Henry knew about my pregnancy, he would definitely tell Kylian.

Then it was all over for me and my puppy.

I knew it seemed stupid to suddenly give up on confessing everything, but I was scared.

Deadly scared.

The moment I saw Luke's eyes, I felt fear from my soul, beyond the power of my Lycan wolf.

His eyes were so filled with hatred that it made my abdomen tighten.

'He will threaten our puppy. ’ My wolf warned me.

“It’s nothing.” I anxiously repeated.

‘It’s okay. He won’t find it. It’s too small and it’s already on the flower bed. I’m sure he won’t find it. ’ I comforted myself mentally.

“Okay.” Henry randomly nodded.

Boy, no one could explain how relieved I was when he let go of it. Looked like he didn’t see what fell in the first place after all.

Henry gave a quick glimpse toward the pack house, and asked, “Have you seen what’s happening lately? Is it clear to you now?”

I furrowed my eyebrows and looked at him.

Henry smirked. He took a closer step toward me as if that would make me understand what he was about to say any better.

He stood up straight and said with pride, “Alpha Kylian doesn't need a Luna like you anymore, Ms. Della.”

He looked at me from head to toe, raised his eyebrow, and continued, “Flora is his fated mate which means her presence alone can strengthen Alpha Kylian, himself. Whereas, Ms. Stella could help him strengthen his power as an alpha by strengthening the collaboration between the Dark Moon Pack and Lock Heart Pack.”

“With your omega status, what is there really you can bring to the table for Alpha Kylian?”

He shrugged his shoulders, and smirked. “Right, nothing. ”

What a way to degrade me! Frustrated, stressed, and pregnant! Just a great combination to ignite more anger in me.

Exasperated, all I could say was, “Excuse me, who are you to say such things to me again? Look. I know you are Kylian’s Beta but my relationship with Kylian has nothing to do with you! Don’t forget. I’m still your Luna now.”

He shook his head, not a bit affected by what I said. “Just for now. You will soon lose your position because you can never be recognized as a member of Alpha Kylian’s family.”

I sneered in desperate… He was right…

Luke's behavior just now had told me that he would never accept me. Even if he knew who I really was.

He might be afraid of me, but that wouldn't stop him from hating me. And Kylian, being a good son and a good Alpha, would have no other option but to follow his father's every order.

I couldn’t live forever among people who hate me.

Not to mention I still have my puppy to take care of now...

“You’re right,” I said to Henry calmly, showing I fully understood and agreed everything he said.“His family will never accept me. From the very beginning up until now, they never gave us their blessing.”

“So I have given up. Don’t worry.” I added. And with a bitter smile, I turned around and left.

There was no more sense in arguing about a concluding topic. My hands fell onto my stomach as I felt the presence of my unborn pup, feeling sympathy for the both of us.

“I see.  You and Alpha Kylian had already formed a close connection with each other and so are your wolves. Closer than anyone would expect you to have.”

That was what Lucas had said before when I asked him about me and Kylian.

Now, I fully understood what he meant by the “close connection” he was talking about.

It turned out that it was the existence of my pup.

He said that it would make me cross paths with Lucas even more and that we’ll be entangled together. But that’s just it… That’s the only thing he said to me… He didn’t tell me that there would be good results.

Lucas didn’t say anything about me having a better life with Kylian.

It was a hopeless and ridiculous idea that only crossed my mind for a while. After all, what Lucas said was it would be my fated mate who would bring me a better and happy life.

I should have realized this.

Realizing that reality, I let out a bitter laugh as disappointment and pain filled my heart.

I put my hand on my belly softly. It was still flat, but I could already feel nature’s calling as a she-wolf -to do anything to protect my puppy.

I couldn’t allow my puppy to grow up in a family like this. A grandfather who was a bastard dictator, and a mother who was hated by everyone else.

I wouldn’t let him go through the horrific childhood Kylian went through, and grow up to someone who’s not capable to feel love or love others.

I have made my decision. I’ll keep my pregnancy a secret until Kylian and I divorce. Then I would raise it with my family and, if I'm lucky enough, my fated mate.

I would.

Just as I was about to walk forward, I saw a glimpse of Henry walking toward the flower bed, but I was too devastated to even care.

With a broken heart, weak legs, and a blue mood, I entered the shabby place I was thrown into and was greeted by the sight of Diana squatting on the ground while cleaning the dirty water that covered the entire place.

I scrunched up my face in disgust. “What’s going on here?” I asked.

That water looked like it came from the sewer. And by the amount of it that’s covering the entire house, I’m sure someone deliberately made a mess to bully me.

Diana looked up at me in surprise. “Ms. Della, you’re here already.”

She didn’t expect me to come back so soon. After all, what I was about to talk with Kylian was a sensitive matter and would’ve taken hours. But I wasn’t in the mood to talk about what happened right now.

“What happened?” I asked again.

Diana stood up. Her face was filled with frustration as she explained, “I went out for a bit to buy some ingredients for our meal but when I entered the house, I saw this dirty water pouring inside.”

She looked around and showed me how much water there was and how dirty it was. “I mean, look at this! This is obviously not some kind of accident. How can anyone dare to do this knowing that their LUNA is staying here? They know no respect and should be punished!”

“I can’t believe this! The members of Dark Moon Pack are all rude and barbaric!” she angrily added, and  stomped her foot to make a statement.

By now, I was so exhausted both mentally and physically that all I wanted was to rest. I didn’t want to get stressed about all these crises anymore. It was all too draining for me.

“And–”

Diana was about to speak more but I was already on the verge of stopping her. She’s sweet and thoughtful, but right now, I just find her a bit talkative. I was too lethargic right now to keep up with her.

“Diana-”

Just before I could stop her, someone intervened, “I did it.”

The voice of the culprit sounded even proud of what she had done.

Diana and I both turned and looked at the woman who spoke. Then we looked at each other, all saw disbelief and shock in each other's eyes.

Standing at the doorway was Nancy, the one who should be in prison now.

But She was here in my room right now! Her left hand was leaning on the door frame, her right hand was on her hip, her eyebrow was raised high, and she had that annoying smirk plastered on her lips.

“You insolent bitch!” Diana yelled while walking towards Nancy, “I thought you were arrested! Aren't you afraid that I will kill you? Why the hell are you here now?!

Then Diana turned sharply and looked at me in astonishment.

Our faces went pale as we both realized what it meant to have her here...
