Chapter 89

My heart was beating so fast and my hands were shaking a bit. I didn't know how to describe how I feel right now.
Was it nervousness? Or excited?
I finally got to tell Kylian everything about me and my puppy.
Unlike the guest house to the pack house that was a short walk, coming from that shabby cabin was longer than one could imagine.
Along the way, I heard various kinds of gossip and whispers from pack members who saw me.
“Look, I heard she got kicked out of the guest house.”
“That’s what happens to arrogant people like her. She deserves it!”
“Exactly! She’s acting all mighty just because she became Luna. As if that changes where she came from and where she belongs.”
I sneered at her words.
You were so ridiculous, you didn't know that I was born to be so powerful.
“Once an omega, always an omega.” They continued.
“Hey, don’t be so loud, she might hear you.”
“So what? She’s been exiled already. It almost goes to say that she’s nothing more than trash right now.” This girl seemed fearless, but I was keenly aware that she lowered her voice.
A vain coward.
I mentally rolled my eyes and looked at their directions through my peripheral vision.
To my surprise, I saw a familiar omega whom I encountered before. We were not close, but we weren’t enemies either.
“Don’t say that, hasn’t she been good to us all these years? I don’t think she did anything wrong to deserve to be spoken like this,” she said. I was quite a bit surprised that there was actually someone who would speak up on my behalf.
The others looked at her dumbfoundedly. “Are you blind?”
“Were you paid off by her? Why are you defending her?”
“I’m just speaking the truth.” After that, the female omega left.
Well, what else could she do? It was five against one.
Their backbiting continued. I clenched my fists and my palms ached.
I lowered my head, looked at the pregnancy stick in my hand, and took a deep breath.
I knew that there were a lot more things on my shoulder right now that needed more attention than meaningless gossip I couldn’t change.
But, looking at the positive result, I couldn't help but think about the conversation that would happen later.
How will Kylian react once he learns that I am pregnant? Will he be mad? Will he be happy? Will he be willing to be a father? What if he won’t accept it?
I thought he would accept it, considering his behavior in the past few months... I was not saying that I fell for him again, but he had always been a gentleman and been protective of me, hadn't he?
I flattened the corners of my mouth when I realized I was smiling because of Kylian .
But I randomly thought of something even scarier...and the reasons why we were where we were now, his family.
What if his family didn't accept me and my puppy? His crazy mother, arrogant and stubborn father, and his bipolar sister who disappeared now...
Could I accept going back to my old life? Be on call at any time and bring them tea and water, endure their bully and abuse?
Thinking of the way they had treated me, sweat formed on my forehead, gradually cascading to my cheek and onto my neck.
“Why will you even care? You don’t like their family anyway? When we regain our identity, we won't accept that life anymore, will we?” Trisha suddenly asked.
Yes, why would I even care about anything?
I wasn’t on good terms with his parents and family, especially Luke. So if he were not to accept my pup, that’s for good right? I wouldn’t need to bother to be with them for a long time?
“I’m the Lycan princess,” I replied, as if it answers all, which in fact, it does.
Though Luke and every family of Kylian treat me as their enemy because of my omega status, once they learn my real identity, I’m sure that there would be a huge change in the situation.
Once they learn that I’m the Lycan princess, they wouldn’t dare to do anything to me. I won't have to put up with their rude treatment anymore.
“Things will be much simpler,” I whispered, tightening the hold on the pregnancy test.
As long as Kylian loved me, as long as he accepted me and our puppy.
With that in mind, hope resurfaced in me.
‘I’ll do anything for my pup. Anything…’ I thought with determination.
This time, I couldn't care less about Flora, Stella, Luke or anyone. All that matters was my pup, and pup alone.
As long as Kylian vow to treat me and my pup with how we deserve, then I’ll be fine.
With that in mind, I took a deep breath and walked into the hall used for pack events, where there was a long table.
And on both sides of the long table are...
Kylian and Stella having lunch together with Luke!
There were smiles plastered on each of their faces as they ate and chatted harmoniously.
My sight focused on Kylian and Stella who were laughing together, looking at each other tacitly while laughing, as if there was nothing in the world they should be worried about.
What the hell? They were like a loving family sharing a happy lunch time, while I was kicked out of the hotel and moved into a dilapidated cabin!
And I was still pregnant with Kylian's puppy? !
Suddenly, I saw Luke looking at my direction and our eyes met. He had that discreet smirk on his face before he looked away from me.
I thought he would suddenly call me, but I was wrong.
Instead, he reached out his arms and grabbed each of Stella’s and Kylian’s hands, forcing them to hold each other’s hands.
He was provoking me intentionally.
I smiled in confidence. Kylian won’t…Oh...
As if fate was laughing at me, Kylian at the dinner table smiled, tightened his fingers, and interlocked with Stella.
I froze and my hands tightened into a fist that if I clenched it even more ,the pregnancy stick in my hand might even break.
I was so heartbroken and dismayed. While coming in here, I had my hopes and thought of many things that could happen and the solutions. I had high hopes that things would get better.
I was even willing to compromise, reveal all my secrets against my will, and forget everything in the past including Flora and Stella. But seeing the scene in front of me, I suddenly didn’t know what to do anymore.
They all looked so happy. Even before Luke tried to provoke me with such lame action, I already saw how they were laughing and happily chatting with each other.
They look like a… family.
I was already in doubt and looking back and forth at the dining and the door to leave when I heard Stella’s voice.
“Della! You’re here! Come here,” she called out enthusiastically.
Damn it! Why the hell did she suddenly call me?
I was so frustrated. What should I do now?
Now that I witness such a scene, I no longer know how to reach and talk to Kylian.
As decisive I was earlier of what I should do, I was left in confusion right now.
I didn’t want to see Kylian now because I’m not sure whether I should tell him about my pregnancy or not. It felt like an insult to mention that he and I have a puppy in this context.
‘Della, don’t say it. Aren't you insulted enough?’ I said to myself, then turned around to run.
“Della…” I heard Kylian called together with the sound of his chair as he stood up.
“Don’t! Kylian…” Luke’s voice boomed.
Of course, Luke would stop him, and Kylian would abide by his words without hesitation. I could tell that by the sound of footsteps disappearing behind me.
His pause was like a wake-up call that reminded me of who he is! I was so stupid to think that my identity and our puppy would solve everything!
I was deceived by Kylian's performance in recent months! I forgot how much Kylian respected and feared his father!
I couldn't let him know about the puppy. He won't protect us, he would just snatch my puppy and drive me away like Luke asked!
I ran and left the pack house, but on my way out, I suddenly bumped into someone.
The intensity of impact caused me to let go of the pregnancy stick, leading it to fall on the ground.
I was about to bend down to pick it up when I heard a voice filled with hostility.
"Ms. Della."
My movements froze. Stepping back, I looked up, and called out in surprise, “Henry.”
At the same time I moved my feet slowly to avoid him noticing. When I got close enough to it, I immediately kicked the pregnancy test on the side, making it fall and stick into the flower bed.
As if nothing happened, I walked around Henry and continued to leave.
I was palpitating with nervousness by the thought that Henry might have seen it.
Just a few steps away, Henry called, “Wait!”
I closed my eyes. Shit! Did he see it?
Slowly, I turned and looked at him.
“What did you kicked into the flower bed?” he asked.
Shit! I’m doomed!
