Della’s POV

A few steps away from Kylian’s room, I stopped. I looked back and saw that Henry wasn’t there anymore, and his door was completely closed. My heart throbbed as I remembered the intimate moment we momentarily shared earlier.

It was pleasurable, but that’s all it was… There wasn’t love, just venting of anger… Just a form of humiliation.

Bitch. Slut. Whore. Those hurtful words he repetitively said echoed in my head. I was hurt and angry, but deep down, I was also worried for him and scared.

I longingly looked back at his door room, whispering, “I hope you are alright.”

Being a Lycan, I have a more sensitive smell than any ordinary werewolves. He’s bleeding, and it’s too much blood, considering the thickness of the scent I was smelling earlier.

His wounds probably opened after such a wild night we shared. There was no doubt about it. I could only silently wish that he would be fine.

I took a step forward, wanting to take a quick peek… but then flashes of his image together with Stella came into my mind.

“Don’t be stupid, Della!” I scolded myself and knocked on my head with my knuckles. Stella was about to be Kylian’s chosen mate… I shouldn’t make things more complicated than it already was.

With a throbbing and unsettled heart, I turned around with fisted hands and walked back to my own place with his shirt on.

“Look at that…”

“Oh my goddess, couldn’t she be more obvious?”

“I think she’s even proud!”

“Oh, tell me about it! She’s just proving that she’s a slut.”

“Right! She’s so much worse than Ms. Stella and Ms. Flora. I really hope Alpha Kylian signs the divorce papers soon.”

“Yes, it’s so degrading to have a Luna like her!”

“That’s because she used to be an omega! She’s ambitious!”

“Omega?! With how she’s acting, she’s way worse than an Omega!”

I clenched my jaw as I heard whispers of gossip around me. They were pointing fingers at me again, making me subconsciously wrap my arms around myself. I couldn’t blame them, though.

I mean, who wouldn’t think otherwise? I was only wearing a man’s shirt, and my extremities and neck were covered with hickeys.

Nonetheless, my heart beat incredibly raised, and my nails started to embed deeply in my palm as my claws started to come out.

I’m a princess and a Lycan. As much as I could tolerate things, my wolf was born with dominance, pride, and ego.

“She should have been content enough to be Luna. How can she still want more?”

“She’s delusional. She–”

Somehow, that was my last straw.

I closed my eyes and calmed myself and my wolf, preventing ourselves from tearing them apart with my claws.

Looking at them with fierce eyes, I said, “Don’t you all have more things to do than gossip around? You all better shut the hell up.”

Instead of being threatened, they stayed where they were, and the one who said that I shouldn’t be a Luna raised her eyebrow.

She crossed her arms over her fake chest and said, “You won’t be our Luna for long anyway. Why the act?”

I took a step closer to her, letting a bit of my wolf’s anger out so I was sure my eye color changed for a few seconds before it returned to normal. She even subconsciously took a step back from me.

Smirking, I retorted, “Doesn’t change the fact that I’m still your Luna, and I can still punish you now, does it?”

Looking at them one after another, I added, “Go back to your own work and mind your own business!”

Instantly, they dispersed and did what they’re supposed to do.

As soon as I reached the guest house where I was staying, I immediately pushed open the door.

Nancy looked at me with judgeful eyes while tied in the corner, but I didn’t pay attention to her. Instead, what took my full attention was Albert, who was in bed and lethargic.

His eyelids were half open, her body was filled with cold sweats, and he looked extremely weak.

“Are you okay? Is it getting worse?” I asked in worry as I ran near him and grabbed the towel from the bedside. After dipping it in cold water, I placed it on his forehead to keep him cool for a bit.

He completely opened his eyes. “Della…”

I saw how his eyes ventured from my head down to my toe. A certain emotion flashed in his eyes before he looked at me. “Did Kylian do anything to you?” he asked with clenched teeth.

Looking away, I thought back about the pain I got from all of Kylian’s insults… I smiled bitterly and replied, “No, of course no. He wouldn’t bully me.”

I shrugged my shoulders as if it was all nothing. “I went to Kylian and asked him to help you. Guess what? He agreed! You don’t have to worry anymore.” I gave him the good news with as bright a smile as possible.

Albert tried to sit up, making the towel fall on his side. Seeing as he wanted to sit up, I helped him and placed a pillow on his back to make him comfortable; while doing so, he wrapped his arms around me and embraced me tightly with his head on my shoulder.

His embrace tightened as he whispered in my ear with despair, “I'd rather die than know that you’re using such a humiliating way to save me. You’re Della… Don’t forget who you are. You are the most beloved daughter of the Lycan King. You’re a princess.”

I stopped breathing. His tone was filled with so much sorrow, probably even greater than what I was feeling right now.

He let go and looked deep into my eyes. “I don’t deserve such sacrifice, Princess Della.”

I smiled at him and held his arm, saying, “I don’t regret anything. Albert, you are one of my most important friends. I will do anything to save you as much as I would do for Fae. I might be a princess, but at this moment, I’m just a friend who wants you to live longer.”

He remained looking at me in silence and I tilted my head a bit, waiting for him to speak, but he didn’t so I just gave him a genuine smile to comfort him.

Just in time, my phone vibrated. I took it and looked at the screen to see Kylian’s message.

“I’ll have you see Wizard Lucas in a week. As for your request regarding the divorce, it will be postponed for another month.”
