Chapter 67

Della’s POV

I knew that many of them kept on wondering why I wouldn’t tell people what my real identity was. But was that really important? Despite today’s age, was rank still that important for anyone to treat others humanely?

I explained to Albert, “Although I already found my home and that I am a Lycan, I don’t want to rely on that identity every time. I didn’t want to use my father and brother in my life so I could live better. I want to solve my problems on my own. Besides, I don’t see any reason why someone should change their view on someone just because others are omega while others are Lycan.”

I finally looked at him and said, “Isn’t everyone treated with respect no matter what their rank is?”

Albert let out a smile, and I could see admiration in his eyes. He nodded, “You’re right.”

I knew he would understand me. After all, he was like that. He was indeed a good man.

“Keep it a secret, okay?”

“I promised.”

We stared at each other for a while. Feeling a bit awkward, I let out a laugh and pointed out my clothes to ease the atmosphere between us a bit. “I look like a mess. Don’t I?”

He laughed. “You still look beautiful, don’t worry.”

“I’ll give you time to change,” he said before standing up and opening the door.

“You can come in now,” he said, and Nancy came in with a flirtatious smile on her lips.

“Is there anything you need, Mr. Wolfie?” she asked while battering her eyelashes. My gosh, she’s making me want to vomit as if I wasn’t nauseated enough already.

“Please help her clean up,” he instructed before leaving the room and closing the door to give me privacy.

As soon as he left, a scowl formed on Nancy’s lips, and she rolled her eyes while walking toward my closet. She mindlessly picked out a gray shirt paired with skinny denim jeans. Tossing it in my direction, she instructed, “Put that on fast.”

Like a boss, she slammed down on the sofa and started looking at her nails as if I wasn’t there.

I stared at her in shock and shook my head. She’s really something.

I was about to grab the clothes she tossed when she suddenly looked at me and waned, “Now, remember your status. You are a mere omega. An omega! Don’t even try to think of any inappropriate thoughts with Albert. He is mine.”

Her guts to put a claim on someone and talk to me with such a tone really amazed me. How much more shameless could she be?

The people in the Dark Moon Pack were all really something.

Irritated, I asked her calmly, “But you are also an omega. What makes you think that you are worthy of Albert?”

She let out a mocking smirk. “I can’t believe you even asked such a question.” After rolling her eyes, she continued, “You’re not only an omega but also a vicious slit. You kept on going after he-wolves who weren’t even your mates.”

“You think I don’t know? Miss Margot escaped, and I am sure that she will take revenge on you soon. Once that happens, I’ll be happy to hear the news that she bit your head off!” she sneered.

Raising my eyebrow, I answered, “Okay, you do that.”

What she said made me angry, but I kept my cool. After all, I was positive that even if Margot found me, she wouldn’t be able to win against me. Before she could even take a step to attract me, she’d be dead.

Rather than wasting my time with Nancy’s stupid jealousy and insecurity, I grabbed the clothes she gave me and put them on.

As if on cue, a knock was heard after I fully got dressed.

“Della, are you done?” Albert asked outside.

“Yes, you can come in,” I replied. Immediately, Nancy got up and held my arm, pretending to help me back to my bed before she continued to fix my messy bed.

“Nancy, I’ll continue that. You can go for now,” Albert said as soon as he went.

“But…” Nancy tried to protest, but Albert intervened again, “I have something to talk about with Della.”

Nancy was left with no choice but to bow her head in respect and leave the room.

As Albert said, he continued fixing the bed.

“I’ll do it later… Leave it.” Feeling shy when I saw him cleaning the empty bottles scattered on the floor, I tried to stop him, but he only waved me off and continued.

“I can manage. Just take a rest there,” he said and continued.

While doing that, he suddenly asked, “Does Nancy make your life difficult here?”

I immediately shook my head. “No, don’t worry about it.”

We were in the Dark Moon Pack. It wasn’t our territory, so I couldn’t trigger him into doing anything that might cause him another conflict with Kylian and the rest of the members of this pack.

Albert stopped midway in, putting an empty glass in the trash can, and stared at me as if reading my mind.

I kept still, but I guess he knew me too well already.

He sighed and threw the last piece of the bottle.

“Fine, I won’t be mad,” he said, which made me sigh in relief even when he saw through me. However, he took his phone out of his pocket and called someone whom I had a great guess who he was calling.

I just closed my eyes and shook my head, knowing that I wouldn’t be able to stop him.

“Hi, Prince Jackson…”

I knew it…

“Yes, I called to ask if you can send another maid here to take care of Della. Yes… No… Yes, everything is fine…”

I could only hear his end of the call. They kept talking, so I didn’t listen anymore as I knew that he could handle it. Besides, I kept feeling my wolf trying to talk with me, so I focused on her for now.

“Hey… cheer up! We can handle this…” my wolf told me as I felt her starting to increase her power to repair my injury and body.

At my bedside, I saw my phone. Taking it, I looked at the screen and saw Stella sending me another picture.

I raised my eyebrow, a little surprised that it wasn’t her and Kylian this time. Instead, she was with Kylian’s father.

Following the picture, Stella sent me a message, “Because Kylian’s heart is wavering between us, I decided to take things into my own hands. I told Kylian’s father that if he marries me, I’ll help them strengthen the alliance between our pack. I am sure that Kylian can give anything for that power. He will surely give up on you, Della.”

My hands tightened on my phone. Agitated, I replied, “Could you be more shameless? Have you forgotten who I am? As  Lycan Princess, I can provide more power to him than you can ever give.”

It didn’t even take a while before I got her reply. “Yeah? But I don’t think your father and brother will agree to that. They will not help Kylian even if you want to. They hate him. All they want is for you and him to divorce each other.”

I froze. She was right. My father and brother would not agree.

Nonetheless, I couldn’t help but doubt what Kylian would choose. Would he choose me? I think there’s a chance that he won’t. After all, even though he claimed that he loved me that much, his father was very strict.

As much as he tries to fight him, his father is scary and always believes that pack interest comes first above all things.

I was just thinking about many possibilities when I heard a rude and scary knock, and Kylian’s father came in, followed by a large number of guards.
