Chapter 59

I was sitting inside my office when I heard a knock on the door. Looking up from the pile of paperwork I was looking into, I answered, "Come in."
"Alpha," Henry came in and greeted as he approached my desk. Seeing his serious expression, I knew he had something important to report. Hence, I placed down the paper I was reading and gave my full attention to him as I leaned back on my chair.
"The Lock Heart Pack delegation representative arrived." He continued.
I raised my eyebrow, feeling a little surprised as we weren't informed beforehand.
"Already? I didn't know he'd be here today. Where is Alpha Robert? I havn't seen the old guy for a long time." I asked upon standing up.
Alpha Robert was the Alpha of the Lock Heart Pack, which had been our ally for years. Every year, we would hold an event. But beforehand, we would visit each other's pack to talk about it.
"Actually, that's what I want to say. Alpha Robert is not here. He sent Stella, his daughter, on his behalf this time," Henry informed me before placing a letter on my table for me to read.
In that letter, Alpha Robert informed me that he had his daughter come on his behalf as part of his daughter's training in handling the packing business.
"Alpha, it's kinda weird. Alpha Robert has never introduce Stella to anyone before." Henry added.
I understood his concern; however, pack visitation and event organization were important matters. I didn't know much about his daughter, but I still have to work with her and gurantee our cooperation is perfect. So I had to know whom I would be talking to before facing her.
Sitting down, I asked, "What do we know about her?"
"According to our Werewolf Intelligence Network, She's known to be a rebellious gir who never listens to her Alpha's orders. She has a very nice figure, with plump boobs and ass, extreme sexy. She was able to shift in a early age and has been hooking up with different hewolves ever since. Once openly insulted the sailing ban imposed on her by her Alpha father at a pack meeting. Once kissed gigolo in front of elders of her pack. Once maintaining intimate relationships with three men at the same time. But of course, some of that is what we know from the circulating rumors. Do you want me to have her thoroughly investigated?"
I couldn't help but throw my pen at Henry and shook my head at that question.
"Sounds like a troublesome woman. I hate those werewolves who think too highly of themselves and don't know how to respect Alphas." I said, stood up and straightened my suit, "Anyway, let's meet her."
"Well, I think so. But Luna Della has been like this recently..." he murmured.
I glared at him and he shut his mouth tightly.
Nice boy.
I walked ahead of him towards the entrance. I thought I wouldn't like Stella. I didn't like what I heard about her. I mean, there won't be a fire without fuel, right?
Her bad reputation surely came from somewhere. And we're here for business, so she better live up to her father's reputation instead. Otherwise I can't guarantee that I won't teach her a lesson.
As I arrived at the living room, I saw a beautiful woman sitting comfortably on the sofa. She wore a fiery red dress that accentuated her figure, which she obviously was proud of, just as Henry reported.
It's not that I'm attracted to her, but I'm just stating a fact. I frowned and stepped forward, worried that she might really be a big trouble.
"Hi, Miss Stella. " I held out my hand to her.
"Mr. Kylian. Hi, a pleasure to meet you," she said as she stood up upon seeing my arrival.
Contrary to what I expected, she was very polite. She held my finger reservedly, greeting and lowering her head to show respect to me. She seemed to have nothing to do with the word "rebellion".
Well, there might be something wrong with the rumors and she might just be a good girl with a bit of a goofiness.
"Welcome to Dark Moon Pack," I replied to her and shook her hand.
Her hold was firm and with respect before we let her go at the same time. She also stood upright and confidently, which instantly grabbed my respect.
"Alpha, coffees, and snacks in the study room had been prepared," one of the omega came by and reported.
Showing the path to Stella, I said, "Shall we?"
"Actually, I saw your garden outside, and it's enticing. Do you mind if we talk while taking a tour out there?" she asked politely while pointing at the backdoor heading to the garden.
My eyebrows furrow. I couldn't help but feel a bit strange, especially since she didn't seem like one to appreciate a garden.
"But…" I was about to protest that talking about matters in the study room would be more appropriate when I remembered Della. If we go to the garden, I might be able to get a glimpse of Della. Even better, I'll have a reason to talk with her if we cross paths.
'Yes! That's great! Dealla…' I couldn't help but think about it.
"Can't we?" she asked while observing my face.
Damn! I almost forgot she was here.
"Ah, yes. Of course. After you," I said, motioning towards the back door. She smiled and went on.
Afterward, I looked at the omega and instructed her to place the snacks and coffee on the garden table instead so we could eat there after our tour.
After taking a deep breath, I scolded myself inwardly, "Get yourself together, Kylian! Don't think of Della for a moment and focus on work!"
"I wasn't informed that you'll represent your father this year. Of course, not that it's a bad idea," I started.
She laughed a bit and explained, "No, of course not. We didn't mean to startle you. My father just thought that you'd need a fresh idea for this year's event. And having a new person to collaborate with will do the trick."
I nodded. Yes, they got a point.
"So, in that case, any idea to make this year's event more momentful?"
"Wow, you do go straight to the point. Don't you?"
I shrugged. "Well, isn't that what we're here for?" I asked seriously. I didn't like wasting time, and I'm not one to make small talk with someone I'm not close with. That's just too personal. But of course, I'll entertain her. After all, she's an honorable guest of our pack.
"Right, of course. What about a masquerade party? It can be both a party of glamour and friendship. Everyone would mingle with fun in mind instead of making connections alone. I think a bond out of friendship is far greater than societal connections alone. Don't you think?"
My steps halted for a while as she said her suggestions.
Unlike what I just thought before, her suggestion was actually very constructive and the way she looked at me was very polite.
We talked about this issue in depth for a while and I found that Stella was completely different from the rumors. She was beautiful and elegent, full of wisdom and smart ideas for pack management.
"Now I know why your father let you came her instead. You have great ideas. And... I guess I need to apologize to you because I heard..."
I spoke apologetically, but was interrupted by her laughing.
"You mean those rumors? That I was a rebellious whore. HAHAHA...Never mind, a lot of people believed those words, but it makes me happy that you're willing to change your mind. Thank you, Alpha Kylian."
The way she laughed was dazzling in the sun. I really shouldn't have made such unreasonable assumptions about her because of rumors.
"Maybe we can be friends." I suggested.
She nodded in pride. "Sure!"
By now, were are already at the center of the garden where more variance of flowers could be seen. Instead of looking around, though, I felt her stare at me.
"What? Have something to ask?"
She looked away. "Now that we are friends, can I ask you a question? Will you be able to go our party with your Luna?"
"Why did you ask?" I asked, surprised by her sudden question.
"Because I like you."
