Chapter 57

Della's POV

Darkness, cold, fear.

These are all I could feel after fainting. I couldn't hear any sounds and I didn't know where I was, but I knew I was terrified and broken.

I didn't understand which one worried me the most. Was it that I fell on the ground and might be sick? Or was it because, at this point, I'm starting to question my belief in my love for Kylian?

For as long as I can remember, I endured much pain when Flora came into our lives. I tried to understand, and that was only because she was his fated mate. I knew they had that unbreakable bond that would probably make it hard for him to break.

However… the moment I saw how he just stood there and let another woman hold his arm, much less his hand… everything in me seemed to be tangled up.

Why? Just why did he let that happen?

Was I wrong all along?

Was he just really a playboy who liked to jump from one woman to another?

Then if so, was he still worthy of all my pain and my three years? Was he still worthy of my tears?

As I finally opened my eyes again, a tear dripped down my cheeks.

My head was a bit heavy as I weakly moved my hands around while my blurry vision adjusted to my surroundings. Feeling the soft mattress, I slowly sat up and realized that I was on my bed in my room.

I looked down at my hands, and flashes of memories right before I passed out flashed before me.

Kylian allowed Stella to be so close to him and chose her between me and her.

I took a breath, looked up and searched the room, with a secret hope in my heart.

Maybe……

But no. He's not here. No one was beside my bed.

My heart began to hurt out of my control, causing me to cover my chest with my hands. I wanted to calm down, but this familiar scene made me fall into the same nightmare that Flora had created for me countless times -

I was abandoned by Kylian again.

I knew I shouldn't but I couldn't help but wonder where Kylian might be. Was he with Stella? What were they doing? Were they as close as they seemed earlier?

Until a female voice said in an unpleasant tone, "You're finally awake?"

I shrank back on my bed out of surprise upon hearing that voice.

Looking closely, a young woman was sitting on the couch not far from the bed I was on. But I was so panicked before that I ignored her.

Once I calmed down, I asked, "Who are you?"

She raised her eyebrow and stood up as she looked at me from head to toe. "I'm Nancy. Alpha told me to take care of you. I don't even know why. I mean… who are you?"

Her mocking didn't go unnoticed by me. Anyone here should know that I was Kylian's Luna.

"What do you mean by that exactly?" I sat up straight and looked at her coldly.

"Exactly what I meant. You're just a mere omega like me. You don't deserve Alpha Kylian. You just occupied a position that didn't belong to you because you were chosen by Alpha. With you being rejected, you should return to your level. And now, we're just the same lowly life, so I don't want to serve a bitch like you. I'm only here because Alpha instructed me to. "

I couldn't help but sneer. Same as me? Where was she getting all that confidence?

Despite being a little lightheaded, I still stood up. Not wanting anyone to belittle me as they wish, I had to stand my ground.

I intentionally took slow steps and stopped just a few feet from her to dominate her. With a firm and authoritative voice, I replied, "Nancy, right? You're right, I was rejected. However, as long as Kylian – your alpha, hadn't signed my divorce paper yet, I am still the Luna of the Dark Moon Pack. Your Luna. If I were you, I'd show some respect. In addition, as your Luna, I advise you not to choose your attitude based on other people's class, otherwise you are likely to offend someone you shouldn't and die a cruel death."

To my surprise, instead of being intimidated, she even had the guts to roll her eyes on me.

"Someone I shouldn't offend?" She laughed out loud, "You do not mean you, do you?"

"Just wait," with a smirk, Nancy boastfully said, "Once you get demoted back into being an omega, I'll teach you a lesson. I want to see what kind of punishment you can give me."

Her rudeness and provocation made my wolf roar in my mind. Lycans have never been accustomed to facing such provocations with indifference. Our usual method is to rip out their throats and stomachs.

My fangs sharpened and was about to show when she continued to say-

"And also, don't think so high of yourself. Miss Stella will replace you soon as our new Luna. You're nothing compared to her," Nancy added, which made my heartbeat stop for a while.

Her words calmed my blood and my wolf retreated with a whimper.

No matter how many times I think of Kylian, it always hurts me.

But Stella? How ridiculous!

Having Flora replace me was something acceptable, considering that she's the fated mate of Kylian. But Stella? Who was she to be with? Was she even comparable to me?

"Get out! I don't want to see your face," I commanded to Nancy.

"As if I like to see yours." With that, she left with no hesitation.

Sitting back on my bed, my blood started to boil with immense anger and sadness. Jealousy crept into my soul as Stella and Kylian together flashed into my mind.

My breathing hitched, and I was on the verge of venting out when my phone was situated on the bedside table pinged with a notification.

Grabbing it, I saw that Stella messaged me.

Opening the message, there was a picture of roses and delicious dishes served on the table. Together with that was the caption, "I'm so sorry, Della. I had to have Kylian, so he wasn't able to take care of you. You see, I was starving, so he even prepared this nice meal for me. It's so delicious. He's a good cook. Fortunately, you let him go. Thank you. Your loss, my gain."

Reading that, I couldn't even comprehend how I should react. My calmness sneered at her way of showoff, which just like a childish teenager, but my jealousy ordered me to slide the screen to block her account.

However, just before I could do so, I received another message from Stella.

"You're not replying. Do you want to meet with me? I have some free time after my date with Kylian."

Date? What he said he loved, and now he's doing what?!

I was gritting in anger, but Jackson's voice suddenly sounded in my mind-

"Don't forget what you promised me. Divorce."

Yes, that's right, I wanted to divorce Kylian, and I shouldn't be angered by Stella so easily.

I took a deep breath. After re-reading all her messages, I was able to stay rational enough to analyze everything.

Her messages were obviously intended to provoke me. Her words were clear, she wanted to show me that Kylian was into her as much as she was.

But she clearly knew that I was divorcing Kylian. Wasn't she worried that these photos and words would arouse my jealousy and make me want to win Kylian back?

That's right, she's not afraid. Because her purpose is not just to show off.

She didn't really want Kylian.

So what does she want by sending me these messages?

The scene of her and Jackson standing together flashed in my mind at the right time.

I lowered my head, swiped my phone and replied to her message-

"Okay, see you then."

Her sudden appearance is still a mystery to me. But whatever her purpose is, I need to know it.
