Chapter 27

Della's POV

When Albert suddenly presented the so-called evidence, I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief. However, a small part of me also wondered how such a coincidence happened.

Nonetheless, it wasn't what's important right now.

He raised his brows arrogantly before shrugging his shoulders and enlarging a video from his gallery. Turning the volume to the maximum, and with how silent everyone was, everyone could vividly hear my conversation with Flora.

"Since you ruined my reputation online, mark my words, I definitely won't let you go. Once I officially became Luna, I'll make you disappear completely!"

"I swear, I'll prepare a good show for you. Do you want to see Kylian and I kiss or…Have sex?"

Many gasps were heard after hearing Flora's out-of-line comment.

"Oh my gosh! That's too vulgar!"

"Is this how the Dark Moon Pack's Luna is being treated?"

"She said what? Letting her see them… Oh, goddess, I can't even stomach saying that!"

"She's basically saying she is planning to remove the Luna from the throne. Isn't this the same as treason?"

The quiet venue started filling with whispers of discussion. My eyes narrowed as I looked at Flora, who was trembling with a pale face right now and slowly taking steps back to hide behind Kylian.

Meanwhile, Albert seemed proud as he turned his phone off and hid it back in his back pocket in a cool manner. He even gave me a smile and a quick wink, bringing an unexplainable rush to my heart.

What the hell was that?

Before I could comment on him, though, the whispers of bystanders got even louder. They didn't even make the effort to make it subtle, as they had already formed a group of circles.

"That Flora woman also accused Luna Della of stealing a necklace before! I heard Prince Jackson bought that necklace from one of Kylian's family businesses, though."

"This is ridiculous! What did she say? She will make Luna Della gone? Even if Omegas are weak, they aren't slave to kill at will!"

"I can't believe this! How can Alpha Kylian hurt his nominal Luna for a potential murderer? Fated mates or not, this is unacceptable!"

"I can't believe I felt pity for Flora before because she's the fated mate! She's a huge liar! I feel so sorry for Luna Della."

Jackson moved a little bit away from me and went to Albert, tapping him on the shoulder. "Thanks, man! If it weren't for your help, an innocent woman would have been framed today."

As if it were a cue for an advantageous moment for him, Albert shifted his gaze at me and smiled widely, showing his attractive dimples again. "What can I do? I can't bear to see a beautiful lady like her being bullied."

'Don't get swayed!' I told myself, knowing flowery words were the usual tricks of playboys like him.

"It's such a rare coincidence for you to take a video of a conversation, but thanks. It indeed helps me," I replied.

I mean, we were in an area with very few people, and who would take a video at a party just because they were bored? That's a bit of a suspicious excuse for me, so no one could blame me for being weary.

Instead of being awkward, though, he seemed to find my words amusing as a small laugh-like music radiated from him.

He jokingly raised his hands up to the sky for a moment. "Busted! Well, you are so beautiful, so when I took a video, I was so mesmerized I couldn't put my lens away from your direction."

My jaw dropped at his straightforwardness, but he didn't back down and still smiled despite the subconscious glare I sent.

"It's a compliment, Della," Jackson whispered to me, and that's when I woke up from my daze.

Realizing it was the truth, I sighed and relaxed my eyes. “Thank you, Sir.”

“My pleasure.” He nodded. His tone sounded genuine without a trace of mockery or perverts. If I hadn't experienced a tragic romance with Kylian, I probably would have been interested in getting to know Albert further.

As playful as he looked, he seemed a gentleman, and his demeanor just shouted freshness. He's like sunshine on a dark night, so it's no surprise that women were drawn to him.

It's too bad, though. After being married to Kylian, I'm no longer the naïve woman I used to be, who easily fell for flowery words and smooth moves.

Remembering that bastard, I looked at Kylian and found him with a dimmed expression and unreadable eyes.

I couldn't help but send him a deadly glare. Since we had been facing each other, he had been staring at me, and I felt like he was burning a hole through me.

What's his problem?

When I met his eyes, though, his eyes swept over me from head to toe, but they lingered down for a couple of seconds before his brows furrowed.

I followed his gaze and realized that he was looking at my bare legs.

"Don't wear that. Men will stare at you. It's for my eyes only."

I suddenly remember our usual conversation when we had events to attend. I'd usually wear conservative clothes because he didn't want me to wear revealing ones, as he would easily get jealous.

At first, I got butterflies from his jealousy, and I really liked it when he was very concerned about what I wore, even though what I wore wasn't really something someone would call revealing. Later, when we started having disputes, I realized that it's not that he loves me but that he's a control freak.

I was more of a pet than his actual wife. I had rules I had to follow, but I couldn't ask him for anything.

If he didn't like something, he'd get mad or hurt me emotionally.

It's not me whom he loves, but Flora – he's fated, mate.

I was so blinded by my love for him that I realized it was too late. Before I knew it, I was already swimming in a pool of my own tears, and it was getting so hard to get back to the surface to save myself.

So whatever happened, now that I manage to slowly get back to the shore, I'll see through it. We'll sign that divorce, and I'll fully sever my ties with him.

As if to retaliate, I subtly pushed my coat to the side and puffed my chest out for him to see my deep neckline A-dress, which showed a slight sight of my cleavage and said, "What I do is no longer your business. I've already decided to leave you, and I'll see through to it."

"You can't do this! I didn't agree to anything!" he shouted and took a step forward toward me, subconsciously causing Flora to let go of her hold on his arm.

I tilted my head and motioned to Albert's evidence before smiling. "What happened earlier is already proof that our relationship is beyond repair. If you don't want our divorce to be pushed forward to the Kingdom's court, I suggest you make it easy for everyone and sign it as soon as possible."

Kylian's eyes widened, completely dumbfounded by my conviction.

Silently, I thought, 'Shock already? There's more to come, Kylian. I'll show you how determined I am.'

With that, I gave one of the servants a signal, and he immediately approached us with a black briefcase.

Situating himself between Kylian and me, he opened it to reveal that it was filled with bundles of hundred-dollar bills.

Kylian looked at it with confusion while Flora peeked at it with glinting eyes of greed. I understand, though. It was probably the first time she had seen such money in action.

After all, though she wasn't an omega, she was just an ordinary pack member.

"What is this?" Kylian, finally out of a daze, asked.

My fingers slid through the bills, shrugged, and pushed them forward to him. "I've discussed it with the Kingdom's economist. They calculated everything and concluded that I spent less than two million dollars with all my years in the Dark Moon Pack."

I nodded at the money. "This is exactly two million dollars. I'm returning all the money to you."

Glimpsing at Flora, I smirked and added, looking back at him, "You can see the excess as interest. Considering the pain you, your family, and the pack have caused me, I guess we are more than ever, right?"

"Wh—"

He tried to say something, but I didn't give him any chance and pushed the briefcase upward, causing the bills to fly everywhere, and it rained around him.
