Seeing Kylian's arrival, Flora's smug expression immediately vanished, and her tears streamed down her face so fast that it looked like she had a faucet in her eyes, which she could open with a lick of her finger.
Covering her face with her palms, she cried harder and ran to Kylian's arms, wrapping her arms around his torso while leaning her head on his naked chest.
Her words sounded muffled from her cries and how she leaned on Kylian, but it was understandable enough to make me furious.
"Kylian… I only wanted to make amends with Della, but I… I wanted to ask her why she betrayed you for the Lycan prince because I didn't want her to hurt you or the pack. But she…" She cried harder before continuing, "She said… She said you are far inferior to Prince Jackson…"
My jaw dropped after hearing her outright lies. I was beyond dumbfounded and utterly speechless by her words.
How could she lie like that?
"That bitch! How can she distort facts like that? She provoked you first!" Trisha retaliated at the back of my mind as we both knew what Kylian would do after hearing Flora's words.
Like always, he'd believe her and take her side, hurting me again without second thoughts.
I glanced at Kylian, waiting to see his reaction, knowing full well that I'd probably be disappointed again.
He wore a serious expression. His eyes were blank, and his lips were in tight purses.
Rolling my eyes, I thought, 'This would be the same drama for the countless of times in the past few years. He'd take her side and punish me for it again.'
Not waiting for him to bring pain to my heart again, I shifted my gaze toward Flora and started motioning to the entire place we were in. "This Is the Lycan King's territory, and I am an invited guest here."
"You and you…" I said, pointing at Flora and Kylian. "Should at least respect me."
No matter what my title was – a Princess, a Luna, or an Omega, since the Lycan family specially invited me, I was an honored guest everyone couldn't disrespect.
Suddenly, like a mad woman, Flora screamed in a high pitch, taking the attention of many guests. Even those in the far end heard her and formed a crowd, circling around them to watch the show.
Seeing how many scrutinized us, I couldn't be more thankful that I hadn't let everyone know yet that I was the Lycan Princess.
If I did and immediately got involved in this humiliating dispute at the Lupercalia Festival, it would surely bring shame to the royal family—my family.
I knew how much my father and Jackson loved me, so I couldn't let them be insulted by my bad choices.
Kylian stared at me with jugful eyes. His face dimmed, and his jaws clenched. Of course, one word from his beloved fated mate, and he'd believe it.
His stare glinted with danger as he stepped forward and asked me, "Have you become so conceited that you think that Lycan Prince will protect you?"
He laughed mockingly and smirked, "Don’t forget who you are, Della. You are MY Luna!"
He shouted and intentionally stressed the word "my," possessively claiming me when he had already thrown me to the side.
Now, who was conceited?
I parted my lips and was ready to retort when I felt a dominating presence behind me.
"Is there something wrong if I protect my guests?" Jackson came out of nowhere and asked Kylian.
After that, I felt Jackson's hand sliding onto my wrist before he pulled me behind him. He took a step forward, protectively hiding me from Kylian.
With a dominating posture and his Lycan voice that almost made everyone kneel in fear, he asked, "What happened here?"
Flora squirmed behind Kylian and looked fearful. She pitifully looked at Jackson, narrating the same lie she had told Kylian.
She pouted her lips and stared at Jackson with googly eyes before speaking in a disgusting, sweet tone. "I was just trying to apologize to Luna Della, but she got mad at me and compared you to Alpha Kylian, who is her Alpha and husband."
"That's not what happened," I immediately clarified, “It was Flora who provoked me first!”
Like the professional actress that she was, Flora immediately cried and tried to point the blame at me. "Della is lying. She must have known this was a blind spot from the CCTVs and planned to lie…"
I looked around, and indeed, it was a blind spot. Now, I understood what she was really about. She deliberately chose this place and asked me to meet to make this scheme. Such a bitch!
Kylian asked me, "Do you want to explain anything? If you are willing to go back to the Dark Moon Pack with me, I won't pursue this matter further."
I stared at Kylian in disbelief. I gritted my teeth as I woke up from my delusion of loving him. I shouldn't compromise with him again.
Love was not everything. It wasn't enough for me to let him humiliate and stomp on me like this over and over again.
Sneering, I looked back at him without fear and asked, "What? Do you want me to go back there and continue to be abused and humiliated?"
Raising my brows, I coldly added, "Did you and your family already feel bored to lose a toy and punching bag like me? That's why you want me back."
Kylian was left flustered by my indifference. When he recovered, he took a step forward and tried to reach for my hand, but Jackson immediately pushed his hand away.
Not letting Kylian get closer to me again, Jackson took a sidestep and pushed me further away from Kylian.
Kylian looked at Jackson in shock. He tried to control his anger, but his eyes showed his rage.
Jackson said, "No matter what happened today, no one can take her away from me."
Hearing Jackson's outright act of claim toward me, Kylian instantly radiates fury from his ridiculous possessiveness toward me. However, since Jackson is the Lycan Prince, he can only fist his hand and let his nails make marks on his palms to keep himself from attacking Jackson and causing chaos.
"Prince Jackson, may I remind you, Della is my Luna," he replied to Jackson in the calmest voice he could muster at this moment.
"Indeed," Jackson agreed and nodded his head, but he then added, "She was once you're Luna. But not anymore. She is not your slave. She is free to do whatever she wants."
"But I never agreed to the divorce yet! She's still mine!" Kylian couldn't handle his fury anymore and rebutted in an obviously furious tone, which made the others gasp. After all, it’s Jackson, the Lycan Prince whom he was talking to.
The atmosphere in the entire venue immediately became tense. The room became filled with nothing but silence, and even the wave in the pool suddenly became deafening.
Just as when everyone was out of their wits on what to do next, that mesmerizing man I saw earlier from the second floor suddenly pushed his way through the crowd and approached Jackson.
Confidently and with that charming smile, he stated, "I can prove Miss Della's innocence."
All eyes went on him, even Kylian's.
Kylian narrowed his eyes at him and pointed out, "It's you, isn't it? We met in the bar that day."
Bar? What was he talking about? Did they know each other?
That dimpled guy smiled and greeted Kylian with a small bow before telling him, "I didn't have time to introduce myself that day. I'm Albert Wolfe, the son of the Alpha of the River Ash Pack."
Gasped echoed in the venues.
"River Ash Pack? Isn't that the most powerful and prestigious pack in the South?"
"Oh my gosh, he's not only handsome but outstanding too!"
Whispers filled the room, but Albert, who was seemingly used to the attention, wasn't even fazed by that.
He nonchalantly took out his phone and waved it in front of Flora. With a raised brow and a smirk, he said to her, "I was taking a video earlier because I was getting. I accidentally took a video of what happened earlier when I passed by here."
As if his words were cold water that was splashed on Flora, her face turned pale.
