"I had a great time last night." He said with a smile, the first one since morning.
I couldn't help but smile back, "I did too."
He leaned over and place his lips on mine. The kiss was soft and sweet. He removed his lips from mine then kiss my cheeks. "I don't wanna keep you, you have less than an hour to get ready." He reached down and release the seatbelt for me.
"Yea, I really have to go." I opened my door and exit.
"I'll text you."
I nod and move away from the car. He didn't drive away until I was inside the building. I found his gesture to be very sweet. Only a gentleman would care if a girl reached in safe.
Seth Parker was so many things a man could be, A Romantic, A gentleman and an excellent lover.
.....
I rushed into the court room, I only have three minutes left before my case would be call up. I spot Mr Benjamin sitting it the defendant area. I quickly walked up to the area and dropped my briefcase.
"I'm so sorry, I'm late. The traffic was terribly this morning." I lied. The traffic was perfectly the same as it always is in New York, I was just too busy getting laid to remember I had an Initial hearing.
"It's okay. I am okay." He assured. "Is he going to be the prosecutor?" Mr Benjamin points behind me, I followed his gaze over the prosecutor side.
My heart missed a beat at the face, I saw.
Nah, I must be hallucinating. Seth Parker is not in the courtroom. Not because you had sex with the guy last night you should start thinking about him.
Stop it Karishma! He is not real.
But he was because when he saw me looking at him, he waved.
I excused myself from beside Mr. Benjamin and walked over to the opposite side of the courtroom. Seth meeting me half way.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I said a little too loud.
"Well, I could ask you the same question, but I put two and two together," he said with his regular smirk.
I frown at him. "What are you talking about? This stalking thing is getting way out-of-hand you need to stop following me, especially following me in court." Like seriously Seth. Why are you so clingy?
He laughs and shakes his head. "I wasn't following you. I am the Prosecutor of the case of the death of Harrison Samuel. I am supposed to be here."
My eyes widen with shock. No, he can't be.
"No, you have to be DA."
"I am a DA honey."
"Don't call me that." Especially in the courtroom. "When did you become DA?"
"When I moved here."
"I thought you were a business man. You didn't tell me you're a lawyer." Probably because I assumed you were a business man like Brandon.
"You didn't ask." He was right, I didn't.
Before I could response we were interrupted by the voice of the court official, "All rise."
"We'll talk afterwards," he said before making it back to his side of the court.
I walked back over my side. I knew my face showed exactly how I was feeling because Mr. Benjamin was giving me a look.
"Don't worry, we'll still win this case," I assured my client.
As I stand erect looking at the judge I asked myself, what did hell did I get myself into?
Seth and I would always be on the opposite team.
Whatever happened last night, cannot happen again.
Never again.
As soon as I was in the comfort of my office. I sent Seth a text message.
"Why the hell didn't you tell me you were a DA?"
He didn't take to long to respond. "It never came up and why it such a big deal?"
I rolled my eyes. Why is it such a big deal?
"It's a big deal because District Attorneys and Defenders hate other and are not supposed to hook up." I quickly texted back.
"Meh, who made that rule?"
Who made that rule? I rolled my eyes as I quickly sent back. "From the first year in law school we learnt that both don't mix. We can never do what we did last night again."
"You mean have sex?"
"No Seth I meant going to your house!" I quickly type and again. "Of course, I mean have sex!"
"Why not?"
I shake my head at his dumb question. They were a million and one reasons why Seth Parker and I shouldn't have sex again.
"So many reasons but let me start with the fact that you're the prosecutor of my client. You want to put him behind bars." I couldn't jeopardize my case just for sex.
"He's a criminal he deserves to be behind bars."
I shake my head again. This is where all the disagreement starts.
"Mr. Benjamin is innocent, and you find out when I win this case."
"Pssh...Right. He's as innocent as all the other criminals I've put behind bars."
I rolled my eyes and started to type. "You know what Seth. We had fun last night, and it was great but that's as we can go. It would be great if we don't see each again. Have a good day!"
I put the phone far away from me. I will not be responding to any more of Seth's messages. There is no way on earth I could still be friends with him. Not after last night and definitely not after today. We were from two differences sides of the law, he tried to put criminals in prison while I live my life trying to take them out.
Sighing I rested my head against my desk.
Seth freaking Parker had made me feel some things last night, things that never felt before either. The sex was great, probably too great but it will never happen again.
