We are werewolves.
“This ring symbolizes our team and our generation,” my father introduced the red ring.
“It made from the blood of the werewolves, the blood of the werewolf was one thing that we can touch or hold.” My father walks in front of me.
“The ring is important, we should guard it and take care of it because it contains a spell that can only break when the curse is gone,” he continued to explain.
“Why Am I telling you this? It is because you should guard it. This ring can prevent the werewolf to transform under the moon,” he stated.
“Do you understand me? Yoru?” I nodded without saying a word.
“Anyone who is wearing this ring can normally walk and avoid transformation, however, the spell was not free.” He glared at me.
We are currently at his office. The bookshelves were filled with old and thick books. It has differences in colors, length, and thickness.
“If the side effects are being ignored by the person who was wearing the ring, the time will come and he or she will no longer have the control for his or her body.”
He gave me the ring. I was just sitting on the couch and started to inspect the thing.
It has some small lines and circles that create a word. I can't understand it nor read it.
“In short, the person who possessed the ring will be a werewolf forever.” My eyes widen.
“Don't let anyone steal it, if someone does, I will punish you because the ring is in your custody,” my father added.
All of a sudden, someone knocked on the door.
“Honey? Are you there? Let me in, I have something to tell you,” the person said.
Even it's coming from the other side, I clearly recognized her voice.
“Sure, but I'm just discussing something in here, I will call you if I'm done,” my father replied.
“Honey? It's urgent! You should listen to me first,” my stepmother started to raise her voice.
“Open the door and let me in!” she exclaimed. I looked at my father's reaction.
He was shrugging his shoulder and decided to take a seat.
“She's so stubborn, can't you hear me? I'm busy!” he shouted. I shook my head because of annoyance.
I stood up and turned my head in my father's direction.
“I got to go, I will talk to you later. It seems that your wife wants to yell and nag at you,” I stated while looking at his eyes.
He glared at me. Before he can move, I open the door and, exactly, his wife is going to push it.
Her eyes widen. I glance at her blankly. While I'm holding the ring, I put it inside my pocket.
Maybe I should wear this as a necklace to avoid misplacing it.
I decided to walk around the street. Maybe, I will find it interesting in the streets. It's already afternoon, but Yuan was still not in the house.
In a split of seconds, I heard their minds. It's so noisy and it makes my head to ache but I'm used to it.
I discovered this since when I'm 10 years old. That time I was silently sitting at the corner of the room in school when all of a sudden, I heard their thoughts.
At first, I can't maintain my normal face because I'm hurt at that time. I felt like my hearing was being damaged.
I covered my ears and my tears are running that time. My lips raised a bit because of some events when I was a child.
“I heard that someone is changing his form, he is turning into something creature with fangs and long nails.”
My heart started to beat like a beating drum when I heard that voice. I searched for that person but I can't hear it clearly.
The noise became louder and louder. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.
I walk beside the girls. They are gossiping about the boy's transformation.
“I heard that he was hairy and turning like a dog but his eyes were red and I heard that he have long fangs and nails! I'm scared!” she stated.
I looked at her and look away when she noticed me. “Hey, do you need something?” My eyes widen when she asked me.
Her face turns into pink and she tries to comb her hair using her fingers. I gulped and thought if I should ask them or not.
My shoulder slumped down. “About the boy, you are talking about recently.” I stop for a second.
They glanced at me. They started to raise their eyebrows and wrinkled their foreheads.
“Are you listening to our conversation, Mister?” the other girl asked with a clip on her hair.
I looked at my side and searched for the answer. After some time, I decided not to answer her questions.
“I'm Andrea, we are talking about the guy we found in the city who was chased by the people,” Andrea said with a calm and confident look on her face.
“Can you tell me where the exact location of that guy?” I asked to her while we are walking in the pathway.
I smell a familiar scent that makes me to stop talking and walking. They turned in my direction and stop for a moment.
“What happened to you? Why did you stop? Let's go, we might miss them because last time we saw the guy, he was covered in blood while running away.”
Right, it's his blood. It's the scent of his blood.
Andrea walks in front of me. Her face turns into something. She scratches her head and stands quiet for a moment.
“Never mind, thank you for your time.” I walk immediately to the place where I can smell his scent.
After a few minutes of brisk walking, I saw him sitting at the front door of the ruined shop. My instinct was right.
He is in his werewolf form. I saw some bruises on his legs and head. I run immediately and check if he's breathing.
“Yuan! I told you not to show the people! I said, you should go home after the class, but now! Look what you have done!” I exclaimed.
My sympathy for him turns into irritation. “You are always stubborn! Why don't you just listen to me and obey my rules! It is for your own good, why can't you understand it?” My voice keeps raising.
He glanced at me with a soft and teary eyes. I pulled the ring inside of my pocket and put it to his finger.
After a few seconds, he turned back to his human form.
“Look at your face! Where did it come from? From the people who were chasing you? Are they holding a silver?” I asked to him. He was just looking away and remaining silent.
I took a deep sigh and let it out slowly. While holding the side of my head, I close my eyes and became silent for a minute.
“Okay, I'm sorry if I raised my voice to you, just promise me that you will not be going to do it again, huh?” I said with a clear and soft tone.
He turned his vision in my direction. I force a smile just to show him that I'm not mad anymore.
“I'm just like this because I care for you, I don't want you to be hurt.” While I'm explaining, my realization hits me.
I gave to him the ring. “About the ring, I let you borrow it but our father didn't know about this, you should take care of that, and please be responsible.”
He is about to talk when a strange noise reached our ears.
