“Astrid! What happened to you? Your lips were pale and your eyes were swollen!” Hailey exclaimed.
She covers her mouth while her eyes widened.
I ignored her loud voice and continue to walk inside the room. My shoulder is heavy but I'm not carrying my bag.
When I sit in my chair, someone knocked on the door.
“Good morning, Class! We have a new student, actually, he was from the other building and he wants you to join all of you!” the professor said.
I took a deep sigh and let it out slowly. I guess, he already did what he said to me last night.
“Please, be friend with him and help him to our lesson, come here and please introduce yourself.”
Someone walks into the room. My eyes widen when my expectations were wrong.
“Hello, Everyone, I'm Yoru, my age is just like yours.” Yoru looked at the Professor.
The Professor nodded and she let Yoru to decide where he wants to sit.
My jaw dropped. I didn't expect this to happen. I thought, Yuan was going to transfer in here.
My head turned around the room and it stops at the guy who was smiling while talking to my classmates.
It's Yuan. He transferred here before this guy beside me did it.
“Hailey! Come here, I will ask you something.” I commanded. Hailey walks in front of me.
I whispered, “Who is that guy? The one with wavy and undercut hair?” I pointed in the direction.
“It's Yuan, the new student that I'm talking about and the one to who I gave the gift, did you forget about it?” I nodded.
Alright, I forgot some events. It can't happen again.
I feel that someone was behind me. “What are you doing there?” I asked with a serious and blank tone.
“Excuse me?” the guy asked. His voice is deep like an ocean. I'm drowning.
“My friend was sitting in that chair for your information, Mister.” I heard him gulp.
In my opinion, he wants to say something but he used to not tell it.
“If you excuse, go to somewhere else and don't use that chair,” I said while not facing the person behind me.
“Miss? Can you look at the person that you are talking with? I think it's rude not to look when someone is talking.”
I shrugged my shoulder and let my head down on the table.
I closed my eyes for a minute. After a while, the bell rang indicating that we are going to start the class.
The activities were passed and it's time for me to relax and don't mind the negative things.
I wiped my table and put some alcohol on it.
To avoid any virus or germs and to maintain my clean things.
All of a sudden, someone put some ink on my table. I glared at the person who did it.
“What the— Why did you do that? Can't you see? I'm cleaning my desk and organizing my things, and you are coming in here just to mess with me?” I blurted out.
His brown eyes with gray fleeks are looking at me blankly.
I rolled my eyes and harshly wipe the ink from the pen.
After a few hours of irritation, the class was already dismissed. The guy behind me walked constantly without minding the people around him.
He is annoying! I don't like him! I don't like his attitude!
I stood up and packed all the things. Someone went to my side.
“Hey, are you okay? Your friend sits beside me because Yoru occupied her seat.” I nodded to him as my response.
“Let's go to the cafeteria! If you want, I'm going to invite your friend, Hailey.” His voice is innocent and excited like there's nothing wrong with me.
I'm irritated with Yoru!
“Astrid? Why do you keep glaring to that guy?” He pointed to the person called Yoru.
My vision turned to him. He steps backward. “You didn't see it? He messes with my things! He put some ink in my desk like duh! I was just cleaning and wiping it,” my voice can show up some anger.
“Here is the water, calm yourself, okay?” He handed me a bottle of water. We are walking in the hallway when Hailey appeared.
“Guys? Where are you going? Can I join?” Hailey glanced at me while asking. It's like she's sending some signals that I should agree with her.
I remained silent. Yuan smiles at her, “Sure! It's my pleasure to be with the two of you!”
“Great! Come with me, we are going to my favorite shop!” Hailey exclaimed with a jolly and excited tone.
Yuan glanced at me while smiling. He lend me a hand but I chose to refuse it.
30 minutes had passed, we arrived at the shop where you can also bring your pet.
It's like a mini restaurant with a playground for pets. It has some bowls, beds, and toys for pets.
“Welcome! Please be comfortable with us!” the staff greets us.
“Table for three, please?” Hailey told the staff. The staff gave her a sweet and genuine smile.
“Alright! Please follow me, I will guide you to the table for three people.” The staff started to walk to the right side of the shop.
In a split of seconds, we saw the table. It is round but big enough for the three people.
“If you have some order, or treats, please tell me, so I will record and order it for you!” the staff added.
Because of the ambiance, I'm comfortable and a little bit relaxed unlike before.
I search in the menu and my eyes stop at something. It's like a delicious one in the picture, so I want to prove it to myself.
“Can I have one puppy tail and baby cat face, please?” I ordered.
“I would like to order the same thing with her,” Yuan said while looking at me. The staff starts to write something.
“Give me some orange juice and one blue cake,” Hailey muttered.
“Noted. Let me cleat it, two puppy tail and 2 baby cat face, one orange juice and a blue cake,” the staff announced.
“Yes, it's complete and right.”
“Alright! Please wait 5 minutes because we are going to make some of your orders, please have patience.” The staff smiles before leaving.
When the staff was gone, I glanced at Hailey. She is quiet and looking at the ground.
“Hailey? Are you okay? You look sad and space out,” I called her. She looked at me with a soft and weak look in her eyes.
“Yes, I'm okay, it's just like I was just thinking something on how to discipline and passed all my grades.”
Her shoulder slumped down.
“Hey, don't mind it too much, you can survive on it. Just trust the process and everything will be fine,” I suggested.
She gave me a weak smile. “I'm hoping that it would be fun and exciting,” she whispers.
“By the way, our event is coming, what are your plans?” Hailey asked.
“Usually, my guardians are not going to attend the event, besides I'm not that young anymore, I can manage myself,” I replied.
My head turned in Yuan's direction. So, now, he became the quiet one.
I glance at them. It's like they are waiting for each other to open up a topic.
Not only that, but they look like problematic.
“Astrid?” Yuan called my name.
“Yes? Now, you are the quiet one, please interact with the three of us.”
After the minutes of waiting, the food arrived.
My orders were completely good.
“Astrid, we are going to tell you something,” they said in unison.
