When they disappeared from my vision, I took a deep sigh and looked at the sky. I went back to my groceries and decided to go home.
After a few hours of waiting. The driver keeps staring at me by using the rearview mirror of the car.
I raised my eyebrow, “Excuse me, sir? Can I ask you? Why do you keep staring at me?” I questioned.
He shakes his head and focuses on the road.
After half an hour, some people appeared on the street like they have a commotion.
“Miss? What do you think did happen to them? Why are they running?” the driver asked.
I remained silent for a while. “I think, they are chasing something, because they are holding some long paddles with nails,” I answered.
My eye widens and my heartbeat race. “Mister, please stop! Here's the money! Thanks!” He parked the car at the side. I immediately went down and run to the guy who was sitting in the dark space.
I looked at my wristwatch. While I'm walking, I can hear his whimper and heavy breathing.
“Yuan?” I whispered. My flashlight was on and direct to his face. He covered his face using his arm.
However, I gasped when I saw some blood streaming on his arm down to his elbow.
“What happened to you?” I asked. He remained silent and did not move. I get my handkerchief and tie it to his wound.
Furthermore, I give him some water to drink. He accepts it while the other hand is still covering his face.
“Thank you...” he whispered. I looked at him. It feels like my heart is going to throw up.
“Let me help you, I will bring you to the hospital,” I said with a shaky and a little unclear voice.
“No need, just let me rest and everything is going to be fine.” I sat beside him and scan his body using my vision if he had some other bruises.
“I was chased by the people, they accused me that they saw me turning into a wolf,” he explained.
For instance, I gasped when I heard his shaking voice. His body is trembling.
“I will call for some help.” When I'm about to walk, he holds my hand and pulls me in his direction.
He puts his warm arm around me and I can hear his heavy breathing from my ear.
“Don't leave me, they would not going to help me. They are going to kill me,” he murmured. His scent reached my nostril with a mix of the smell of blood coming from his wound.
He pulled me to his hug like I'm the only one who can help him and can free him from his suffering.
“Can you walk? I'm going to take you home,” I whispered to his ear. He nodded as his answer.
I stood up and put his arm on my shoulder and help him to stand up. When everything is good, I get my phone inside my bag and call for a car.
While we are slowly walking, I saw the car that I ride last time. We went in its direction and the driver let his window down.
“Miss? How may I help you? I saw you that you are going to help him, therefore I waited for you.”
I weakly smile at him and help Yuan to get inside the car.
After a few minutes, we were already inside the car and the driver starts to drive. I looked at my wristwatch, after a few hours the moon is going to show up.
Yuan puts his head on my shoulder. The bleeding is temporarily stopped. I decided that we should go to my house.
He's not responding when I'm asking where is his house located. After 2 hours of driving, we reached our destination.
I asked for some help from the driver for carrying Yuan. I paid enough amount of money and he smiled at me.
Furthermore, I thanked him and he started to drive away from my house.
I observed Yuan. He's peacefully laying down on the couch while his eyes are closed.
He is weak at the moment and can't even breathe normally. I walked to the kitchen and make some hot water.
I opened the fridge and get some meat to cook. I'm going to make some dinner. I know he is hungry.
It seems obvious that the people hurt him using the paddles with nails. I shook my head when the scene appears to my mind.
I heard my stomach release some rumbling sounds.
Not only that, but I heard that something was dropped from the living room. I walked immediately to Yuan and looked at him.
“Do you anything? Just say it to me and I will bring it to you,” I offered. I give him some medicine to let him won't feel the pain.
“What time is it?” he asked. “It's already 6 in the evening,” I answered. His eyes widen and he stood up immediately.
“Hey! Be careful, your wound will bleed again if you move too fast,” I warned him. He sits down and close his eyes while his head was up.
He is slowly gulping. “Are you hungry? I made some food to eat, it's almost dinner time.”
He shrugged his head and pat the side of the couch.
“Can you sit beside me? I'm just going to clarify something,” he whispers. I arched my eyebrow.
“Please?” he pleaded. I heard that the kettle was alarming so I walked to the kitchen and turn it off.
In a split of seconds, I went back to the living room. He's still in his position last time ai checked him.
I'm just holding a soup of meat to warm his stomach and some bandage, alcohol, and cotton to clean his wound.
I put the bowl of soup, he open his eyes and looked at me.
“Here are some soup and water, let's clean your wound,” I said with an airy voice. He let me pull his arm and gently pat the cotton with alcohol.
“Ouch!” I gasped when he raised his voice. “Sorry, please bear with it,” I whispered.
“It will fade away for just some seconds and after all, you will not feel any pain from it.” I pat the cotton once again.
“We should clean your wound to avoid infection, especially you got this from the nail, who knows if that metal nail was not rusty.”
Base on my peripheral vision, a small smile show up on his lips.
“Thank you,” he murmured. I nodded and continue the process. After cleaning the wounds, I put some bandages around his arm and palm.
“Are you living by yourself?” he asked. I raised my head and stare at him.
“Yes, I'm the only one in this house,” I replied. After cleaning and putting on some bandages, he helps me to stand up and I sit beside him.
“Besides, my parents are somewhere on the Earth.” I awkwardly laugh while my heart was racing.
I bite my tongue and relax my cheeks.
“What do you mean? You did not know where they are?” he asked. I nodded as my answer.
“How about your cost of living? Are they supporting your financial needs?” I shook my head to answer his next question.
“Unfortunately, I don't know any news about them since they left me in this house, besides I have my part-time job after my time to school.”
“I see, I'm just thinking that I already saw you in the near café, I'm surprised that my thoughts are right!” He giggles while sipping the soup.
“What time is it?” he suddenly asked. I looked at my wristwatch. “It's already 7:30 in the evening.”
His eyes widen and his hands started to tremble. “Hey, the soup might spill, put it down, what happened? Is there something wrong? You are trembling.”
I looked at him with an arched eyebrow and beads of sweat are dripping at the side of his temple.
