“Hey, calm down, what's wrong? Tell me?” I asked with a shaky voice and unclear feelings.
He gasped and took a deep breath. He put down the bowl of soup and touched his chest.
“Are you feeling difficult to breathe? Should I bring you to the hospital?” He holds my hand suddenly.
“You are the one who needs to c-calm d-down. I'm fine.” I stared into his eyes.
He moves closer to me and I feel the urge to push him gently. He gasped and became stunned for a while.
“I'm sorry for my action.” He covered his mouth like he was going to vomit. He stood up and run to the sink.
He signals me to stop when I'm about to stand up.
After a few minutes, I went in his direction and gave him a glass of water. I felt like he's having a high temperature.
“Wait a minute, I will get some clean clothes to change your dirty clothes.” I ran away from him and go to the closet of my father.
There are still some T-shirts from him. In a split of seconds, I heard the door close and I started to walk to the living room.
I found out that he's gone. The cold breeze is the only one who passed to my body.
I took a deep breath and let it out slowly. How I wish to follow him, but it seems like he doesn't want to be followed.
He left a letter that he will be fine and no need to follow him. He will be going to attend the classes tomorrow.
I can only hear the sound of the wall clock after he left. The house filled with silent air. I'm just the only one in here.
Not only that, but I need to surpass this conflict of mine. I should be ready for tomorrow's battle.
After a few hours of preparation for bed, I clean myself up and change my clothes into a bedtime dress.
I'm just wearing white pajamas. I already locked all the doors and windows for my safety. Furthermore, I set the alarm clock and go to the bed.
I was praying when I heard a loud howl of the dogs coming from the outside.
It seems like it's their nature to make some strange noise, besides it's already 9 in the evening.
I ignore them and lay down on my bed. I closed my eyes and let the darkness convey my vision.
Many hours have been passed, I hear my alarm was ringing. I stand up and yawned while rubbing my eyes.
I need to go to school. After my morning routines were done. I started to walk on the street.
A few minutes have been passed when I reached the gate of the University.
“Yow! Astrid!” I moved my head in her direction. She giggles when she reached my location.
“It's uncommon for you to go to school like this early in the morning? Is that a miracle?” She laughs while holding the strap of her shoulder bag.
“Eh? Don't tease me, Hailey, I'm not in a good mood.” I walked past her but she's still following me.
In a split of seconds, we reached our room and exactly the bell rang. Our professor walk into the classroom and announced something.
“Good morning, we will be having a test, I will give 10 minutes to recall our lesson, the time starts now.”
My eyes widen and my heart instantly pumped like I ran a thousand miles.
“Astrid, do you know something about our past lesson? I forgot it, do you have any notes? Can I read it?” Hailey whispers to me.
She captures all my notes using her phone camera. I skimmed my note and close it when the professor said that it was already time's up.
“Okay, remove all the unnecessary things on your table, keep your notes and phones, the pen and paper should be the only thing to see at the top of your table.”
Beads of sweat are dripping at the side of my head. It feels like the atmosphere turns into something that can burn down all the things inside this room.
Someone walks to the aircon and turns it to a high level. The professor distributes the paper with questions.
“Listen carefully to my instruction, when I say stop, you will go to raise your pens, understand? Finish or not finish, you are going to pass it to my table and you can leave.”
I nodded whole looking at the professor.
“Cheating is prohibited! You already know it! Okay, starts now!” the professor announced.
In the middle of answering, I saw someone who was reading something on a tiny piece of paper.
When she's staring at it for almost 10 seconds, she will write something on her paper. It's just like she's collecting or reading the answer from the small paper.
Her name was Princess, I know her, I already observed her actions and it seems like she's getting a higher grade for that kind of technique.
I hate to admit it and to accuse someone but she's a cheater.
Furthermore, I've been observing her for almost 2 months and I can prove that she's always bringing a hidden copy of the answer sheet.
My decision was made. I'm going to report her to the dean's office to make sure that she's going to be fair when it comes to quizzes, activities, and performance.
The time for answering was already done and I passed it to the table. We heard the bell rang once again and it was a sign that we are allowed to go home.
I saw a familiar figure who was standing at the front door. He's leaning on the wall while looking at the ground.
“Yuan?” I asked when I was already in front of him. He raise his head and I notice that he was wearing a facemask.
“Yes, can I go with you? I know that you are going to the coffee shop, I would like to treat you something as a sign of my gratitude,” he said while standing straight.
“Sure, but first, why are you wearing a mask?” He looked at my eyes when I realized something.
It's for his safety.
“I don't think that they will notice something from you or they will think that something strange is going on,” I whispered.
“What? I can't hear you,” he asked. I shook my head a sign of my answer.
“Before we are going to leave, can we go to the dean's office? I will report someone,” I muttered. He stare at me with a bewildered look on his face.
“Someone?” His eyebrow arched. “Yes,” I replied. After a few seconds, we reached the dean's office and I knocked at the door three times when they let us go inside the office.
“Hello, Miss Astrid, how can I help you? Do you need anything?” the dean asked.
“Good day, Mister, I'm just going to report Miss Princess for cheating at the test, I saw her having an answer sheet while taking a test,” I explained.
He was just looking at me while Yuan was on my side.
“Excuse me? A false accusation can cause a big problem, do you have any evidence?” I nodded as my answer to his question.
I presented my phone, there's a picture of Princess who was holding a small piece of paper with some words on it.
Not only that, but I swipe the pictures and it was her who was folding her sleeve and there are still some words on it.
“It's not her, you tampered all the pieces of evidence.”
My eyes widen when the dean said those words.
