I'm currently buying some stocks at the mini-mart.
“Milk, Bread, Cereals, What else?” I whispered. I read the tags of every section of the food and bathroom products.
“Oh, Hi Miss Astrid! It's been a long time since you bought some goods from here, how are you?” I looked at the person who talked.
“Hi! Miss, Long time no see! Well, it's not that much happy, but I'm fine with this kind of situation,” I answered the girl beside me.
She's the one who arranged all the products and lists in the inventory. I know her since my mother was used to buying some groceries here.
“How about you?” I added while looking at her. She didn't glance at me, yet she keeps arranging all the things.
“I'm okay with this, however, I need to do this job as soon as possible, besides I have my parents that need to support us for our financial needs.”
I shrugged my shoulders before I pick up the bacon spread.
“I guess, I must say that see you!” I smiled at her and she disappeared from my vision. I took a deep sigh and let it out slowly.
Furthermore, I walked to the other section, this time, the shelves were filled with canned food.
After a few minutes of choosing some brands and different products, I proceed to the counter.
“Hello, Miss! Good afternoon!” She smiled at me. I looked at her and the corner of my lips was raised.
“What do you want, Miss? Plastic bag or boxes?” she asked. “I prefer some paper bags if you have some of them,” I responded.
Jeez, my answer was not in the choices, but I think it would be okay?
“Okay, noted, Miss, do you have some point card?” I looked at the ceiling. Point card? Like the card that can earn some points and exchange it for some products?
I guess, it is. I gave her the point card that I have, I saw it in the closet with a note. The note said that I should use this thing and the other information was written on the paper.
After a few moments of waiting, she packed all the things and I gave her the money for payment.
She gave me my exchange and I gave her a cheerful smile. While holding these bags, I decided to sit on the bench while resting for some minutes.
I get some chips and a bottle of water. In a split second, I already opened it and begin to eat.
While I'm scanning the place, my sight stops on the group of children that looks like they are fighting for the toys.
I move closer to them, but I maintain my action. I'm still eating while eavesdropping on them.
“Hey, why are you here? My mom said that you can't afford some chips, because you don't have any money,” the curly-haired girl said.
I think they are five and their ages were around five to seven years old. The girl with a small eyeglass was looking at the ground.
It seems like she's the one who was mocked by those children.
“It's not true, my parents can afford it, but unfortunately, they left me with my Auntie, so I don't have many choices,” she whispered.
“No! You just can't afford it, because you're poor! You don't deserve that award! You don't deserve to study at our school!” the curly-haired girl shouted.
I stood up immediately when they pushed the girl with an eyeglass.
“Hey! Children! It's not good and doesn't be rude to each other, please,” I muttered while looking at them.
I hug the girl with glasses and help her to stand up.
“Look at her, she's the same with you, don't mock her, her status is not describing her personality, so please, be friends to each other and love each other, okay?” I said with a soft voice.
The curly-haired girl crossed her arms and raised her eyebrow at me.
“Who are you? Do I know you?” I gasped when I heard her voice. Her attitude was not a five-year-old girl.
It's like she's talking to me like we are the same age!
“Okay, do you want something?” I asked the curly-haired girl. She looked at the sky for a moment and she glanced at me.
“I want that cry-baby to disappear!” she shouted. My eyes widen and my jaw dropped.
“Baby, it's not good to wish for someone like that kind of wishes, let's make a deal,” I suggested.
“Sorry, Miss? I don't like to have some deals from you.” My shoulder slumped down. I should not be mad at her.
She's a child, please, hold on, please be bear with her, she's just innocent and someone could be possibly succeeded to brainwashed her.
“What if I will give you this?” I show her the chips. She looked at the chips, but after a few seconds, she looked away.
“I don't like that!” I took a deep sigh and let it out slowly.
“How about, let's make our deal?” I looked at the guy who suddenly talked behind me. My eyes widen.
“Yoru, don't forget my name,” he whispered to me. I hold the young girl's shoulder, the one with an eyeglass.
“I'm going to trade my companionship, in exchange for you are not going to bully someone, is that enough?” He gave a wonderful smile to the girl.
The girl gasped and looked at him from head to toe.
“Big brother! I thought you are not going to visit,” Her small voice turn into a sweet and soft voice.
“Why would I'm not going to visit? Your voice was loud enough to reach my ears and it seems like you are bullying someone?” he asked while patting the girl's head.
“No! That woman interfered to our conversation!” The girl pointed her finger at me, but Yoru holds it and put it down.
Yoru glanced at me while giving me an assurance smile. I nodded at him.
“Big sister was just telling you some lessons and you should listen to her because she's already a big sister,” he stated.
The children look satisfied. They hug Yoru while giggling.
“Okay, we promise that we are not going to bully someone, but make sure to accompany me, big brother, okay?” the girl stated.
“Sure! Why not? Now, say sorry to her and Big sister,” he commanded. The girl walks and looked directly into my eyes.
“I'm sorry, Big sister for being a naughty girl, I promise that I wouldn't be going to talk back to the elderly and I'm going to listen to the advice of the elder people.”
She faces the girl with the eyeglass and she hugs her, “I'm sorry for pushing you, I'm not going to do it again and for mocking your status in life, I'm sending my deepest apologies.”
The girl with glasses hugs her back and smiled at her while saying that it's okay and the apology was accepted.
“Yay! Now, we are happy! I'm going to treat you to some ice cream!” the guy said with a cheerful voice.
He had this wide smile while facing the children.
“I'm Yoru and these are my sisters, I'm sorry for her attitude towards you,” he said while slightly lowing his head.
“It's okay, besides they are still young and they need some guidance to identify what is the difference between wrong and right, I'm happy to be one of the people who will teach them about it,” I explained.
I gently pulled the young girl and we sat at the bench.
“Where are your parents?” I asked her.
“I'm lost, Big sister.” I gasped when she said those words.
