“I think, it's not a good idea, Hailey,” I whispered to her. We are hiding at the corner of their room.
Beads of sweat are dripping at the side of my head and my heart was racing. I already told her that this plan is a half percent that will not be going to succeed.
She said that Yuan was the only one who will be going to come here when it reaches 6 a.m.
It's too early, but it's their schedule. Hailey wants to talk to him and give him a gift. I told her that she's just going to look like a stalker.
Well, she's a stalker, right?
Hailey promised me that after she gives the gift, we are going to leave this room before the other students will come here.
“Yes, here he comes!” I heard her soft voice. I glanced at her, she's looking at the door.
After a few minutes, someone came into the room.
“Yuan!” The boy gasped and his eyes widen.
“Who are you?” the boy asked. He turned his gaze to mine which made me look at the ground.
“You looked familiar,” he whispered.
“Really? I'm a student here! I think that's the reason why I've been familiar to you,” Hailey said while grinning.
“Uhm, no, I mean—” the boy scratches his nape while awkwardly looking at me. Hailey noticed it, so she looked at us back and forth.
“By the way, she's Astrid, my friend in here, anyway, I have something to give you,” Hailey muttered.
She grabbed something from her pocket.
“Here, please take this, it will symbolize that you already accepted my existence, please, don't hesitate to talk to me if you want!”
I remained silent because I thought, this moment was for her.
“Don't forget that when we already graduated, I will wait for you at the park.” I gasped when Hailey said those words.
I glanced at the boy named Yuan, his eyes were wide and it seems like he doesn't know how to reply to those words.
He's having a hard time finding some good word for her just not to offend her.
“Excuse me, I think, we should go, Hailey, I heard some footsteps and I assumed, it's Yuan's classmate,” I stated.
I hold Hailey's shoulder and gently pushed her to the door.
“I will wait for your response, Yuan!” I pushed Hailey just to put her outside. I turned to him and gave him a shy smile.
“Sorry for disturbing you!” He looked at me while smiling. I turned my back to him and begin to walk through the hallway with Hailey.
“I hope, it made you feel happy,” I whispered while having a deep sigh.
“Yay! Thank you for supporting me, Astrid! I'm so glad! Thank you so much!” she exclaimed and hugged me while she's giggling.
After a few minutes, She let me go and hold my wrist.
“Let's go to the café, it's my treat since you've been there just to support my happiness!” she said while having a cheerful smile.
My heart feels like it going to throw up and my cheeks are turning pink. I'm glad that she's satisfied with it, although it's just a small action.
Hours have been already passed, and we heard the bell rang.
To be honest, our last subject was vacant due to an urgent meeting of our professors, but I chose to sleep.
I felt like my body was still tired and it needs some rest, plus I wouldn't have enough time to sleep and eat in our house.
Hailey walked and stop in front of me.
“Hey, let's go!” I looked at her. She's wearing her casual smile. I stand up and began to walk away from the room.
Based on my sensibility, she's following me from behind without saying any words. I decided to stop suddenly.
She bumped to my back, “Hey, are you okay? It looks like you've been thinking about that boy, huh?” I said.
I looked at her and she's looking at the ground just to avoid that I might be able to see her reaction.
The corner of my lips was raised. I can see her cheeks, it's turning pink.
“I guess, I'm right, aren't I?” I turned my back to her and begin to walk.
“Don't let him occupy your mind, just let him be what he wants, I mean, don't pressure yourself,” I suggested while observing the people around us.
“It's hard to explain it, but it's not bad to take a shot, right?” I asked.
“What I mean is, it's a boy, you can't control his mind and command him to like you or to promise something for you, I don't want to give you some negative thoughts, I'm just saying this because I don't want you to be hurt by him.”
I took a deep sigh and I gulped just to clear the lump in my throat.
“Though we have a different mindset, still it's not good to force someone just for your happiness, in fact, he only knows you this day,” I muttered.
She's not responding, but I know that she's listening to me.
“Nevertheless, I'm still on your side, we will wait for his response if he would like to,” I said with a low tone voice.
After a few minutes of walking, we already arrived at the Cafe. It's not my duty for today, so I assumed that it was okay for them.
We sat at the vacant table beside the huge glass wall.
“What's your order?” Hailey asked me before the waiter comes in our direction. “I'm okay with the same order of yours,” I replied.
She nodded as a sign of her answer, in a split second, she finally decided what we like to eat.
The waiter came in front of us and she ordered some Flaming Spanish Coffee and a box of pepperoni pizza.
The guy noted it in his notepad, “Please enjoy your time!” We both smiled at the waiter.
“So, about the topic earlier, what do you think?” she asked all of a sudden.
Well, I'm not surprised that much, “Earlier? To be honest, I don't like him when I saw him inside the room, I don't know why,” I replied.
“I'm embarrassed in front of him, in addition to, I thought that he's talking to me that's why I talked suddenly.” Hailey scratched her head when she realized that scene.
She's embarrassed? Really? I took a deep sigh and looked around the cafe.
“Hey, are you alright? You're always taking a deep breath and it seems like you're always problematic,” she jokingly said.
“Nah, I just want to inhale enough oxygen just to fill my lungs,” I answered. She laughed, “Eh? I don't want to believe it.”
I shrugged my shoulder.
“As you can see, I'm tired, it feels like I want to sleep for a long time, but unfortunately, I'm not allowed to do that kind of thing.”
I looked at her directly to her eyes. Her eyebrow arched and her arms were crossed. I lean to the chair and look at the whole cafe.
The place was beautiful and calming. Some of the people are busy with their friends and colleagues at work.
I guess, this place was their escape and stress reliever, I'm going to believe in it.
All of a sudden, my sight stop in a familiar face. The waiter arrived with the Flaming Spanish Coffee together with the box of pepperoni pizza.
“Hailey, look at the corner of the cafe, is that Yuan?” I said. She turned her head and her jaw dropped.
