Letting me go home with him to clean, and it’s all to make Scarlett happy?
What a devoted guardian. Too bad it only made me sick to my stomach.
Before I could refuse, Joseph spoke up first,

“No!”
“Since she’s so eager to stay by my side, out of past feelings, I’ll allow her to keep working at Sterling Corp.”
“Besides, Scarlett is always generous — I’m sure she won’t mind.”
Scarlett tried to put on a magnanimous face, but tears betrayed her grievance.
Seeing this, Xavier offered:
“She could come back to the Chase family. I’ll keep an eye on her and make sure she never leaves our house.”

But Joseph insisted:
“You can’t watch her 24/7. Besides, what if she develops inappropriate feelings for you? It’s better to keep her at the Sterlings.”
“Right under my noses, so she can’t find chances to hurt Scarlett.”
At the mention of Scarlett, everyone immediately stopped objecting.

Scarlett’s grievance faded away. She tugged Joseph’s hand and said the streets must be lively today — she wanted to go for a walk.
The others eagerly agreed, saying they’d take her to see fireworks.
As for me? They didn’t care how injured I was. They just had Grayson take me back.
Back at my apartment, for some reason, Grayson’s attitude seemed slightly softer.
“You don’t have to be like this. As long as you promise not to bully Scarlett anymore from now on, I’ll protect you.”
I ignored him. Once I was sure Grayson had left, I went into the kitchen, grabbed a knife, and headed straight to the bathroom.
Who wants to stay here? I just want to go home.
Lying in the bathtub, I slashed my wrist deeply with the knife, letting blood gush out.
As the bathtub turned red, I drifted into a hazy dream.
I was back in my college graduation days. My parents wanted me to become a civil servant, but I chose to be a gaming streamer.
To prove talent, I took to the game company’s offer and transmigrated to this world.
In the dream, I successfully won the prize.
But when I was taking my parents on a trip, the car went out of control and crashed into a bridge.
I woke up crying, with Xavier sitting beside.
Seeing me awake, he hesitantly asked:
“Grayson came back to get something and found you attempting suicide in the bathtub. Are you… that desperate?”
I didn’t look at him, just stared sarcastically at the ceiling.
I was not the female lead, but harder to kill than one.
Three attempts in a day, and I was still not dead.
Seeing my silence, Xavier smiled bitterly:
“So what Scarlett said is true. You really have depression and want to die.”
Not saying anything to explain, I simply got up and walked toward the window.
Just as I was about to climb onto the windowsill, someone restrained me and injected me with a sedative.
