The scene horrified everyone.
This wasn't producing water—it was consuming a person.
Even in the lawless apocalypse, this was too much.

Seeing her, I remembered: in my past life, when I had no powers, Chloe seemed fine. I asked if she had water, and she said no.
Now I knew—she didn't have water. She used her blood.
If word got out, she'd be a walking blood bag.
I felt no pity. She brought this on herself.
Zach waited confidently for the base to accept them.
But the leader just looked at him darkly.

“This behavior isn't tolerated here. We can't accept your team. Find somewhere else.”
The leader turned to leave.
Zach shouted, frantic.
“Leader, wait! My parents have influence here! If you won't take the team, at least let me in! I have powers—I can contribute!”

The leader was taller and faster. He turned abruptly, and the girl behind him stumbled and fell.
Seeing Zach like this, the leader sighed.
“I knew who you were the moment I saw you. I didn't say anything to spare your dignity.”
“Your parents have influence, but they insulted our water-wielder. Now they're ordinary citizens. Letting them stay is a mercy. You? Not worthy.”
The leader's words hit like a hammer. The whole team was ashamed.
They didn't blame themselves—they blamed Zach and Chloe for failing.
Jake didn't dare attack Zach, so he kicked Chloe in the chest.
“You little liar! You said you had water powers and tricked us into following you! Now the base won't take us! Since you're useless, you might as well die! Produce one last batch of water—consider it your duty as leader!”
As he spoke, he picked up the dagger and stabbed toward Chloe.
