After waiting for a while,with a"click",the door was gently opened.
Because the room was very dark,the person couldn't see me standing at the end of the bed.I forced myself to hold back my trembling legs and waited for the right moment.
The person quietly approached my bed,rubbing his rough hands together and mumbling obscenely,"Little beauty,I'm here.Did you miss me?"
As soon as I heard the voice,I knew who it was—Jack,my mother-in-law's young boyfriend!
With a"snap",I immediately turned on the big light.Before the light came on,I rushed towards him at a sprinting speed and stabbed at Jack with one of the scissors.
However,Jack was lucky.He was just about to pounce on the place where I had been sleeping,and the scissors only scratched his arm,but it was still painful enough for him.
Jack let out a scream from his stabbed arm,which woke up my mother-in-law and the neighbors on the upper and lower floors.
In an instant,almost the whole building lit up.
I saw Jack's true face and also clearly saw his ugly heart.
My mother-in-law rushed into my room,shouting desperately,"What happened?What happened?"
When she saw Jack's bleeding arm,her face turned pale.She covered her mouth in surprise and asked,"Jack,what happened?Why...why are you bleeding so much?"
I gave a cold snort,"Mom,you'd better ask your little boyfriend what he was trying to do to me.Why did he try to pry open my door in the middle of the night?"
My mother-in-law stood there in a daze at the door.Just as she was about to say something,Jack cut her off.He looked at my mother-in-law pitifully,"Fiona!Fiona!It hurts so much!Come and save me!"
I sneered in my heart.Jack was really good at putting on an act.He was even more calculating than a scheming woman.A person like him was really a waste not to be a male seducer.
My mother-in-law had been completely brainwashed by Jack.Hearing his weak cry for help,without thinking twice,she protected him and started yelling at me,"What could he do?What could he do?Why did you lock the door in the middle of the night?Are you trying to guard against thieves?Jack just wanted to come and see you."
"I think my son was really unlucky to have married you.Divorce!I'll make him divorce you as soon as he comes back!"
After scolding me,my mother-in-law rushed out with Jack and took a taxi to the hospital.
