When I carried Tom back to the village,I happened to meet the village chief who had also come out of the forest.He let out a shout and ran over to hug Tom.
As for me,I didn't stay any longer and went straight to the crazy old woman's house.
However,the scene in front of me left me stunned!
Lily and the crazy old woman were sitting face to face,and Lily was feeding the old woman.
Hearing the sound of footsteps,Lily saw me and exclaimed in surprise.
"Did you find Tom?"
I didn't answer but directly ran over,pulled her up,and hugged her tightly in my arms,ignoring her struggles.

But Lily was very insistent.She had already prepared some unrefutable reasons,such as:changing the place of residence would give us a fresh feeling.
The village chief hesitated for a moment and then readily agreed.He patted his chest and promised that he would make us satisfied.At the same time,he invited us to definitely go to his house for dinner so that he could thank me properly.
Lily firmly refused,saying that we were tired and just wanted to rest well,and we had to catch up with our friends the next morning.
The village chief's face looked a bit unpleasant,but he didn't say anything more.He took Tom's hand and went to find a house for us.

My girlfriend,who was fond of horror movies and detective films,suspected that it was the village chief who had hidden the little boy back then.She thought he had used some kind of evil magic to keep the boy from growing up and had taken him as his own son.
After hearing this,I gently tapped her on the head and told her not to make up such absurd plots in her mind.
How could there be such evil magic in the world!
She wrinkled her nose and snorted.Then she took out her phone and shoved it in front of my face."Then how do you explain the fact that Tom looks so much like that little boy from back then?"
I took a closer look and was immediately stunned.I looked at her in disbelief.
She whispered that an old lady,the one who had pulled Granny Guo away earlier,had shown her the picture.The old lady was Granny Guo's relative,Aunt Chunfeng.
Moreover,she had just investigated the village chief's room.The windows of his room were all sealed,and the door had been specially reinforced.
If he had nothing to hide,why would he do that?
