My boyfriend of ten years, claiming I was too poor, suddenly betrayed me and hooked up with my stepsister.
He said,"People always want to climb higher.Don't blame me."
Later,I personally ensured that my stepsister went to prison.

I kicked my scumbag father and stepmother out of the house, reclaiming everything that was mine.
My ex-boyfriend however came back to me,begging for forgiveness.
I laughed at him:"Didn't see this coming, did you?Feel like you lost a billion bucks?"
...
Daniel Carter suddenly placed an order at my flower shop—a bouquet of 99 roses.
I figured it was for another client.

I had once accidentally seen multiple gift orders in his phone—small things like flowers and lattes, big ones like necklaces and rings.
He explained they were gifts to clients, small favors to maintain long-term business ties.
But these were clearly things girls love.I had my suspicions.
Now,ordering from my shop,he was probably trying to dispel my doubts and prove his innocence.

Still,I couldn't help feeling jealous. My own boyfriend was never this generous with me.
Before I opened my shop, the biggest bouquet I had gotten from Daniel was a$9.99 bunch from a street vendor.
Back when we were scraping by,I'd be thrilled for days over his small romantic gestures.
Now,I suddenly felt his love for me was cheap.
I delivered the flowers to the address on the order.
After knocking several times,Daniel himself opened the door.
His playful grin turned ashen. He stammered,"Sophie,w-why's it you?"
His inexplicable panic confused me."Didn't you place the order at my shop?"
His expression grew more frantic, like a long-hidden secret of his had been exposed.
What chilled my heart more was that Daniel didn't even know my shop's name. How little did he care about me?
"Daniel, what're you doing?Who're you talking to?"
A girl's voice came from inside—familiar,but I couldn't put a face to it.
Daniel hurriedly pulled me outside."Sophie,go home.I'm with a client."
I gave a bitter laugh."A female client?You always'meet'clients at their homes?"
He scrambled for excuses."It's her birthday.Lots of people are here, not just me.Don't get the wrong idea."
The more he explained, the more it sounded like a cover-up.
But I was too disappointed to argue.
Downstairs,I ran into William and Laura—my father and stepmother.
Then it hit me:the voice was my stepsister,Emily Stone.Today was her birthday.
Laura eyed me up and down, sneering."Look at you,so shabby. You think you belong in this upscale neighborhood? How'd security let you in?"
I glanced at myself—still wearing my work apron. I had forgotten to take it off.
William looked impatient."It's Emily's birthday. Here to cause trouble again?"
I clenched my fists tight and almost couldn’t resist the urge to punch them.
Two years ago,on this very day,my mom needed money for surgery.I stood in the rain all night, begging William to help.
He was celebrating his mistress's daughter's birthday.
