"Mrs. Reed, you hit the wrong person! It's Emma, not me!"
Daniel chimed in.
"Yeah, honey, Emma seduced me, not Chloe."
Hearing Daniel defend her, Sophia kicked him twice as he knelt, clutching his chest in confusion. She grabbed Chloe's hair, slapping her repeatedly. I watched, feeling excited. Chloe was bleeding and dizzy, but she still forced a smile.
"Mrs. Reed, you are wrong. It's..."
Before she could finish, I slapped her too. She looked at me with hatred in her eyes.
"Emma, you bitch, what lies did you feed Mrs.Reed? he's been duped!"
Sophia finally spoke.
"Chloe, you're the real bitch. Do you think I'm blind? You and Daniel were using me!"
She nodded at me. I hit play on the screen. There were pictures of Chloe and Daniel shopping, watching movies, dining, ending with a clear clip—the one that saved me—in a private room.
"Darling, I'll make Emma take the blame.. You handle Sophia's assets."
"Don't worry, it's a perfect plan. Sophia loves you so much, she'd never suspect I'd siphon her company."
"Emma trusts me. She'll take the fall."
"Chloe, you're way more fun than Sophia!"
"That hag can't compare.I'll be Mrs. Pierce someday."
…
In the room, they kissed passionately, Daniel groping Chloe, shocking everyone.
"Holy crap, this is crazy! They set up Sophia and Emma to fight so they could get money!"
"How can people be so evil?"
"'Beware of friends'— that's for sure!"
"Poor Emma, stuck with that friend."
…
My heart hurt. They saw only a fraction—In my last life, I suffered far worse.
Chloe's eyes widened, disbelieving.
"Impossible! How'd you get this? Emma, you viper, why are you ruining me?"
I stepped forward.
"If you didn't want this to happen, you shouldn't have done those things. Chloe, you thought you could frame me and walk free? You're getting what you deserve."
Thanks to her gift, I traced the store from the receipt and got those recordings.
Even better, for a few hundred bucks, a PI got me these damning videos in two hours.
They cleared my name, exposed Daniel to Sophia, and ruined their plot—a win all around.
