Dr.Mason had my things in hand,they dropped as Daniel yanked him.
Recognizing my things,Daniel's eyes reddened,sneering,"So she planned to divorce me all along,using Emily as an excuse to be with him."
"Hah,even giving another man our house key.No shame at all."
I floated beside Dr.Mason,irritated at the sight the man I loathed most after death.
I hovered around Dr.Mason,"Elliot,ignore him.Isn't he supposed to marry Emily?"
"What do you mean by ‘our'house?You're a moron, but surely you can’t forget something so quick.Who said at the courthouse we'd never meet again?"
Dr.Mason,eyes red,knelt to pick up my things.
Daniel raised his voice,snatching the items and throwing them.
"Good thing the kid wasn't born,or it'd face shame knowing its mother was so shameless."
I floated over,wanting to strangle Daniel,tears streaming as I roared,"You dare mention the child?"
"You have the nerve?"
I tried with all my might,but my hands still went right through his body.
I turned to Dr.Mason,then back to Daniel.
This was the man I had loved for fifteen years—now worse than a stranger.
Despair engulfed me.I sank to the floor.
"All this talk of Emily,but you won't admit your own faults.I felt guilty and neglected Emily for so long because of you."
"But you had someone else all along,playing innocent.Sarah,how come I didn’t see it?"
Daniel thought I was home,his voice growing louder.
"What did you say?"Dr.Mason grabbed Daniel's collar,choking him,his voice icy and desperate."Don’t you have the nerve to talk about her or the child."
Daniel's face reddened,his word choked out incoherently.
"Dr.Mason,let go!"I floated over,trying to pull away his hands,frantic.
Daniel's death didn't matter,but I couldn't let him drag Dr.Mason down.
Whether that Dr.Mason heard my plea or fate intervened,he released Daniel just as he looked like he was about to die.
"Say one more word against her,and see what happens,Daniel."
Daniel coughed,glaring viciously."You mentioned the child.Was it hers and yours?"
"Were you together back then?"
I choked on Daniel's words,my soul coughing.
"Me and Dr.Mason had a child?"
"Why not say Emily's secretly a man?You are the one who cheated,and now that I'm dead,I take the blame?"
I floated before Daniel,pointing and cursing.
Dr.Mason paused picking up my clothes,glaring at Daniel like he was trash.
Daniel,provoked,forgot his near-strangling just now,convinced he'd uncovered the truth."Hah,hit your sore spot?"
"Sarah,good for you."
