I knew exactly why Jack was in so much debt.
The day Lily came back from afar,I hired a private detective to investigate her.
This investigation revealed something astonishing.I found out that she had accidentally inflicted serious injuries on someone with a knife and had spent several years in prison.
After she was released,she sought out Jack.
As for the person she almost killed,his family was involved in loan-sharking.
After graduating from college,Lily borrowed a large sum of money from this person for investment.Unfortunately,she lacked talent and experience,and soon lost all the money,so she naturally had no way to repay the loan.
With the interest compounding and the person constantly threatening her, trying to force her into prostitution, she was in a desperate situation.
Under intense pressure,when the person came to her doorstep again,they failed to reach a compromise.In a fit of rage,Lily attacked him with a knife.

I had never been so desperate to stay in someone's arms before.
Five years ago,I lost my dearest family member.But now,there was someone who was willing to accompany me for the rest of my life.How lucky I was.
I quietly wiped away my tears and said in a hoarse voice,"Honey,it's so good to have met you."
My boyfriend gently patted my back,comforting me without a word.
