"Where are you taking my sister?"
"How much the betrothal gift should be is a matter between me and your sister.We need to discuss it.If we can't figure it out today,then this won't work."
Tom was silenced by my words.I then dragged Emily all the way to the car.
"Emily,tell me honestly.What is that 780,000 going to be used for?"
I stared at Emily's face and asked.
Emily,however,turned her eyes to the side.
"Didn't my mom say it?Just to be more grand and have face when talking to relatives and friends."
"At this point,you still won't tell me the truth?Is that 780,000 going to be given to your brother?"
Under my repeated questioning,Emily finally told the truth.
Emily's family conditions were not good,and they hadn't saved much money over the years.
Coupled with Tom's idleness and lack of motivation,he had no skills.
