Chapter 4

Spencer exploded with rage:

"Are you fucking deaf? We were rehearsing a scene for her next movie!"

"There's nothing going on between us. Delete that video now!"

I laughed bitterly. Rehearsing a scene? What a pathetic excuse.

"Whether it was rehearsal or the real thing, you know exactly what you were doing!"

Charlotte's voice broke through, thick with tears:

"Spencer, what are we going to do? If my fans find out about us..."

"My career is over! Everything I've worked for—gone!"

Spencer rushed to comfort her:

"Don't worry, baby. I'll fix this."

He hung up, and within an hour, news about Charlotte's new relationship was trending online.

Charlotte went live, candidly admitting she was dating her plastic surgeon, Spencer Sinclair.

Spencer was a celebrity surgeon, and people quickly discovered he was married.

He faced the camera, his expression grave:

"Actually, I've been divorced for quite some time. I just kept it private."

"Now that our relationship is public, I might as well set the record straight."

He pulled out his phone and played a recording of my voice:

"Then divorce me, Spencer!"

As the livestream continued, my phone buzzed with his message.

"You forced my hand. I had to say we're divorced."

"If you don't want it to become reality, back me up on this."

"Otherwise, your sister's kidney donor vanishes!"

My blood ran cold. I never imagined he'd stoop so low as to threaten my sister's life.

Just then, my phone lit up with a message from my sister.

"Sis, did Spencer really cheat? He said if I can't talk you down, the donor will disappear."

"But I'd rather die than see you live like this."

Panic surged through me. I called my sister immediately.

The line was busy. Frantic, I called the police.

They told me they'd found my sister's phone and a letter by the lake. They asked me to come identify them.

After identifying her belongings, I wandered the streets in a daze.

I refused to believe she was gone. She'd fought her illness with such strength.

My phone rang—Spencer again.

"Your sister's reached out by now, hasn't she? Ready to play ball?"

"Post a statement online now confirming our divorce!"
